An amazing transformation will be occuring over the next nine months!
Congratulations on your pregnancy! It takes approximately 260 days for your baby to completely form and develop from the date of conception to the date of birth. Your baby will start out as a microscopic zygote and grow into a 7-8 pound (on average) human being! You are carrying a miracle inside of you. While every pregnancy is unique, most women will experience many of the same symptoms, feelings and concerns at some point during their pregnancy. Here you can talk about anything related to pregnancy.

I tried it out because i saw it on the show 'the doctors' and they were talking about it. I thought, if anything it will be fun to do. It was 30 bux at walgreens. Said im having a boy, so we will see! slh1980 -

I've never personally used Intelligender--how does it work? I figure it has a 50% chance of being accurate, one way or the other. lol :) prego81 -

cowen - It does sound like the beginning of PUPPPs! I'm soooo sorry. But your page is saying that you're 24weeks? That's a bit early for PUPPPS. PUPPPS usually starts around 32weeks or so. It's also usually with a boy. They say that it has something to do with high testosterone. I had a severe case with my son. It was awful. So bad that when inducing didn't work I opted for a section. I got the welts from my tummy down to my toes and even between my toes. I had it all over my arms too. Ugh! These welts blistered and oozed. I now carry about 50 scars on my legs and arms and I'm praying that this little boy that I'm carrying isn't like his brother. HAHA! I'd talk to your doctor about it. There's one thing when you have an itchy tummy but having dots is another. Good Luck! I was prescribed lots of meds for it. The best was visterol or something like that. A steriod cream also helped but because it covered my whole body the bottle didn't last long. nead -

I am almost 23 weeks pregnant and people tell me I look bigger than I should. Am I the only one experiencing this. I am petite (5' 1') and people are telling me they looked like I did when they were further along. Hearing this makes me feel odd. I cannot be the only one going through this. Military~mommy -

The fatality rate of H1N1 is 0.1-0.5% depending on which countries health agency you listen to. Avian flu and SARS is 34% and 15% respectively, making H1N1 low man on the totem pole when it comes to fatalities. babyMammaLG -

For me it may not matter now... I have just found out that I've been exposed to it not once but twice. Two people I know are now in the hospital being treated for it. Ugh! I've been feeling kind of nasty lately but no fever. Maybe I have a better immune system then I thought. Hopefully I'll get through this weekend without getting sick. Or at least not too bad. Maybe I'll build up some good antibodies that will protect me for the rest of the season. Who know? Oh well. We'll see! I'm just praying I get through this weekend without any cause for concern. A little sluggish and a blah feeling is all that I've got so far. A good sign since from what I've read symptoms tend to come on pretty quickly after exposure. 2ndontheway2010 -

So I thought I would share what my dr. told me about the h1n1 vaccine. She personally said that she wouldn't recommend that I get it(everyone is different so talk to your own doctor.) She doesn't feel comfortable giving it to pregnant women because of the limited testing. She recommended that I get the regular flu vaccine to give my body an extra boost(I personally do not feel comfortable getting the flu vaccine at all. Everytime I have gotten it I have gotten the flu really badly.) She also said that I need to make the decision that is right for me and that tamiflu(only thing that can help after you get h1n1) has been approved for pregnant women this year and that this is the first year that that has happened. Tamiflu is consideder a class C pregnancy medication so if you get the flu and it gets bad, tamiflu may cause problems of its own to your baby. Good luck to everyone making the right decision for you, your baby, and the rest of your family. prego81 -

oh yeah, for sure. breast feeding is such a good choice. I am only 10 weeks pregnant tho and just wonder if it will effect my baby in the womb or even 10 years from now some side effect that shows up in my child from getting this vaccine while im pregnant...im sooo confused :( Bri -

From what I've read the thimerosal is in all vaccines. It is put in there to stop bacterial growth. By the time the flu vaccine is ready for use, the traces of preservative are so minute that the vaccine is considered to be thimerosal free. If the vaccine is packaged as a single dose vaccine (meaning one dose per vial) no additional preservative is used. This single dose flu vaccine is reserved for pregnant women and it contains far less mercury than 1 oz of canned albacore tuna. Bri -

From my research though I have found out that this is another reason why all moms should breastfeed. Those of you that haven't decided whether to give it a try or not should really think about it. Infants are born with a weak immune system. Formula can't provide them with the antibodies that breastmilk can. From the sources that I've been looking at all say that breastfeeding is the best way to protect your newborn from H1N1 and all other sicknesses. Infants can't get any flu vaccines until they are six months of age. All antibodies would be formed if they got the flu or if it's passed on from Mom. I do hope that none of us end up with the flu or anything worse so it won't matter whether you breastfeed or not but just think about it. It might end up being the best thing you've ever done for yourself and baby. prego81 -

i know it has thimerosal in it which is mercury which is obviously not good for the baby or us. It is also scary that they have been testing it for a couple weeks only and the makers of the vaccine have made it clear to the govn. that if side effects do arise they will not pay a penny to anyone who brings a lawsuit against them. prego81 - We've all been talking about it. I'm still on the fense too. So, the FDA says it's just as safe as the seasonal flu vaccine but there are other sites out there that say it could cause harm to the baby. It's worrisome because pregnant women are at the highest risk. Those that get the flu have a 6% chance of dying from it. But depending how your life is and where you live you may have a lesser chance of getting it completely. I plan on talking to my OB about it and see what she has to say about it. I did find out that you will only be able to get it from the doctor's office. Pharms won't have it. There just won't be enough to ship there so you will need to be on the priority list to get one. I just still haven't come up with any one source that gives you the complete pros and cons to it. Probably because they don't know them yet... prego81 -

dottie26--anything is possible around the 38 week mark. Some people stay at the same level of 'progress' for weeks. For me, i was 1 cm 90-100%effaced for 3 weeks with pains here and there. I'm not sure where you are, but where I am i was only checked at 37 weeks and 41 weeks and not every appointment ---just because they don't want to introduce infection by an internal. So you may not find out at your appointments anyway. BUT, call the dr. between appointments if you have ANY concerns!! Don't let them make you feel you are inconveniencing them! Good luck. Lots of labour dust!
