Hi guys, Ive been wondering about this infant car seats. Is this product really need it for you ? I got some product that has high price, dont know if its really usefull. But Ive been thinking if Im a single parent (or one of us have to work), and I want to having fun with my baby using car. I think I really need one. Moreover some infant car seat has multifunction, like it can be patched to a stroller. You can find some info right here : http://infant-car-seat-s.blogspot.com/ Hope you can enjoy it and find some usefull article there. And please have some comment, + or -, Ill be appreciate it. Thanks...

iv now got the britax evolva 123 for mt 2 yr old and its great, its now the law in England that all children under 12 and certain height have to be in suitable carseats!

LuvMyLuvChunx - 665 days ago.
I usually get the infant travel system,i use the car seat for about the first 4-6 mths, the stroller for as long as they fit..lol..then i get a carseat that will last til they no longer need one..easier that way i think...once they are sitting up and more interactive they tend to like the convertible seats they can see more that way and outside of the car instead of tugging the seat around you just put em in stroller or buggy or whatever depending on where you are...anyways just me:)

patrekLovesMommy - 717 days ago.
If you have a regular car then you may have trouble getting the convertible (larger ones) into your car. These seats work better in SUV's, vans, or large vehicles... Just a word on that...

In New Zealand you can hire carseats from Plunket or even from some baby shops. We did that for the first 9 or 10 months and it was great! I think the rule for second hand seats is 10 years after manufacturing date, but you would have to check. Apparently if you take second hand seats apart to look for stress marks or cracks to see if they have been in an accident, but I think you would have to know what you are doing. Capsule carseats for newborns that go with the snap and go wheels are great for the first 6 months or so. You can tuck the baby into the seat before you leave the house, and them snap the capsule into place in the back of the car, then snap it onto the wheels if you want to quickly whiz into the shops. We had twins and found the double snap and go wheels a bit awkward but do-able, but you couldn't lean on the frame to turn it incase it bent, etc. The capsules were great though, and I could carry two at once if I buckled the babies in and threw one handle over my shoulder and carried the other one in my other hand. Lol! They are now 14 months, and are onto the next size in carseat. My mother was able to get some motherchild/mothercare carseats that go from 9kg up to 36kg... and they were only $100NZ each on special! bargain!

tootsieroll - 844 days ago.
I was told that you should never use a carseat that has been used before, especially if you were not the previous owner. You will never know if it has been in an accident or not and it could cause harm to the baby. The stroller is probably not as big of a deal.

Does any one have the maxi cosi capsual, would you suggest it for a 7 month old?

joyce49788 - 1009 days ago.
call the hospital and ask them what thier policy is for leaving the hospital after baby. ask them about the carseat and see what they say. i bought a used carseat at a resale shop and when i got home i noticed that it was expired. so i called my hospital and they said that they can not let me leave using a expired carseat... soooo i had to go buy one. BUT you can ask cause it might be differant where you are. i am in Michigan, and they said that once you leave the hospital that is it, no biggie use whatever carseat at your own discretion. sooo you could pick up a carseat to bring baby home in, and return it afterwards OR borrow one that has not been expired from a friend or just buy one and be happy with it... lol i was able to pick up a stroller and carseat combo(seperately) for 42 bucks each because apparently they were discontinueing the style.. so i got a great deal... only thing is, is it is pink, and i am now being told it is a boy(after spending 2 months preparing for a girl...lol) so after baby is born i will just have to dye the stuff...lol

since were out of budget, i bought a graco stroller and carseat with base in a yard sale , looks perfectly new with a manual too but its manufct date was 2001. i know its expired already...but, should i really buy a new one? who will check if my carseat is expired? will i get penalized by the law? will the hospital wont allow me to leave? im residing in california, riverside county. please advise....ettyhc@yahoo.com...any inputs will be greatly appreciated. thanks

RECALL ... http://www.frontierrecall.com/

mommyofxyxyxx - 1084 days ago.
I am thinking of getting an 'all in one system' where you can unsnap the infant seat from the car and load it onto a stroller. Not sure what you call that......does anyone have any thoughts on those? I want something portable, lightweight and safe. I'll switch to a larger car seat at a later time.

luvbeingamom - 1118 days ago.
The Britax seats for the most part are the best you can get (hence the price!). You really need to evaluate what your needs are when you get the seat and what they will be when you no longer need the seat. The reason we went with the Regent is i was purchasing the seat for my nearly 38 lb 2 yr old who's height had him already grown out of the alpha omega that i had already purchased. He was front facing and with the 80lb/8 yr limit on this seat, i knew i would be able to keep him in it until at least 5 yrs old! The marathon goes to 65lbs and i am not sure about the roundabout. Good luck!

BRITAX ROUNDABOUT THE COW ONE... IS IT GOOD?

luvbeingamom - 1118 days ago.
Newyear - I recommend the Britax Regent. I have a large 3 and half yr old. He is 43 lbs. It still fits him very comfortably. It is made to have a 5pt harness up to 80lbs/8 yrs old. From my research you want to keep a child in a 5pt harness as long as possible.

Bean - Go to the store and look at the different seats. Ask the people at the store if you can take the model to your car to see if it will fit comfortably with the seats adjusted the way you need them to be. Also check out www.nhtsa.gov and www.iihs.org and search child restraints on both sites. It will give you ease of use ratings, safety ratings and it will give measurements of the seats. Good Luck. I had the graco snug ride infant seat. I really liked it.

What infant car seat would you recommend for a 2009 Sonata? I am in the process of completing my baby registry and need to add this item. Thanks!

newyearpresent - 1174 days ago.
what car seat would you suggest for a very Houdini-like 3.5 year 30 lb boy who escapes out of every seat he was in. I think he will slip out of a booster seat and the convertible toddler seat is a bit tight with all the winter jackets. Help!

Bri - 1186 days ago.
My sister never even bought a caccoon seat. She just bought a convertable from the get go. This was her second child and didn't have the hands to carry a big seat. She would put Baylor in the sling and carry him everywhere that way. I will probably do the same with my second. I loved my graco infant seat but switched to a britax boulevard. We love it. I call it Kekoa's lazy boy. It is so comfortable and easy to install. It is also has side impact protection which is important to us.

rebneter - 1186 days ago.
marchmadness- my daughter did that suddenly too and was fine when i switched carseats. i got the Eddie Bauer Alpha Omega Elite and ABSOLUTELY LOVE it!! it goes from 5lbs to 100lbs so i didn't need to buy another seat or booster. she loves it too, she seems super comfortable in it. its a little more expensive but not nearly as much as some other brands.

luvbeingamom - 1186 days ago.
March - What kind of seat are you using? If your LO is in an infant seat it maybe sitting to far back for her. My younger son hated his infant seat b/c he couldn't really see out the windows with it. He hated laying that far back. So i switched him to a convertable carseat (Like the Britax marathon, or Alpha Omega Elite) and he was fine since. We put him in that by the time he was 2 months old. Most of the converatble seats can be used once your child hits 5 or 10lbs depending on the seat.

marchmadness661 - 1186 days ago.
WELL LATELY! I BEEN PUTTIN MY DAUGHTER ON THE CARSEAT! AND FOR SOME REASON WHEN IM DRIVING SHE STARTS CRYING LIKE THERES NO TOMORROW!! WUT CAN BE WRONG?

haydensmommy08 - 1195 days ago.
srm- we have the marathon & LOVE it! Def worth the price & the safety!

kikiea - 1195 days ago.
I just got the Graco Safe Seat Stage 2 - Toddler seat for my son!! We both LOVE it!! He is so much more comfortable and loves facing forward! It reclines so if he gets tired he can easily fall asleep without his head falling forward. And to be honest I like it better than the very expensive Britax seats!! I think it's cushier, and has better protection on the sides than the Britax. AND it's only $130! Here it is.. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2507896

srm31 - 1196 days ago.
For those of you who have the Britax car seats can I ask which model? I have read the Marathon is the best one but I dont know. Also my daughter is almost 8months and we have the Graco safesaet. She seems to not like it anymore , when did you switch your babies from the infant seat to the Britax (or whatever brand) and did they seem happier? Please comment my page!!!!!

gladek - 1199 days ago.
While Evenflow has not had a major recall since 2006, their products consistantly have had lower safer ratings than most on the market. They had numerous recalls in the 90's. I am sure the seats on the market now pass safety standards, but I have gone with the Graco Safe Seat. Still relatively inexpensive, but much better safety ratings and reviews.
