What kind of memorable dreams have you experienced?

Dreams During Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a very emotional time in a woman's life. It is common to experience vivid dreams that are unique and memorable. The vivid dreams are believed to be caused by increased hormone levels during pregnancy. Hormones have been shown to affect emotions and during pregnancy, the levels of estrogen and progesterone is higher than ever. The emotional battles you face during the day can wreck havoc on you during the night and play a part in your dreams, fantasies and fears.

Most women do experience some type of unusual dream during their pregnancy. Occasionally, the dream is upsetting or alarming. Dreams are normal and healthy and can help you to sort out your worries or fears in a healthy way. You might have dreams regarding the health of your baby, sex of the baby, impending birth or other pregnancy related concerns. The most common dreams during pregnancy center around our fears or apprehensions of pregnancy and baby related topics.

When you wake up, can you clearly recall what your dream was about? If so, you should try to find out the emotion that you were experiencing. Were you happy? Sad? Afraid? Grab a pen and a piece of paper and write down what you remember from the dream and how you felt. Try to connect your dream to a feeling that you have in your life. Is there a reason that you might be feeling scared, upset or dissapointed? Listen to what your dreams are telling you and see if they relate to your real-life feelings, worries or concerns.

Many pregnant women dream about losing things or forgetting important things. You might dream about forgetting to feed your baby or leaving him in a store. Some pregnant mothers have dreams that they will not have everything they need when the baby is born. If you have dreams about losing things or forgetting appointments, items or other things, perhaps you feel that you may not be fully prepared to take on the task of motherhood.

Often when pregnant mothers feel that they are "stuck" in their pregnancy or are afradid of being tied down because of the baby, they dream about being enclosed in tight spaces or trapped in a car, tunnel or small room. You might also dream that you are drowning in a pool, a lake or other body of water.

Women that are adjusting to a new diet or are afraid of gaining weight during their pregnancy, frequently have weight-related dreams. Mothers may dream that they are gaining too much weight or "wake up" in their dream feeling too large. You might experience a dream where you are eating the wrong foods or drinking the wrong drinks. Some women that are afraid of losing their appeal or are afraid that they will not be attractive after pregnancy often have dreams about her husband or partner finding a new mate.

Almost all pregnant mothers will have dreams about the new baby and what their family will be like after the baby is born. You might experience life-like dreams of delivering your baby and caring for her. This is simply your body's way of preparing you for the upcoming birth of your child. Dreams about the baby's size, condition or appearance may express anxiety concerning the baby's health at birth. Dreams regarding your baby's inteeligence may be shown through the baby talking or walking at birth. If you have your heart set on a particular sex, you might have dreams regarding the gender of your child.

Im 18 weeks pregnant now, but in my first trimester, i can remember this one awful nightmare i had that left me feeling drained and panicked all day. I had an early 'miscarriage' i guess if you can call it that because instead of the baby coming out vaginally, i coughed a fetus into my hand after losing several teeth. It was terrifying. I havent had any nightmares like that again, thankfully. But i did have a daydream in which i saw exactly what my child looked like. She was a girl (i wont actually know the gender til december 30th) and she was sooo adorable. I know regardless of whether or not im having a girl or not and my child looks like that, that i will love them either way. As the days pass, the dreams get better and i am more optimistic about my childs health and safe passage here.

2boys and 1 otw - 1742 days ago.
I think as much as I tell myself that I'm fine either way having a boy or a girl, I think subconsciously I have a preference for a girl. I have 2 boys and we are so excited to add to our family again. But, I have been having a few dreams here and there and a lot of anxiety about the sex of this baby. First, they tell me it's a boy via ultrasound, and I feel sad or somewhat disappointed but don't want people to know. And last night, I gave birth to a healty baby boy but felt sad again. Saying, it's not a girl? But, the boy was so beautiful. I don't want to feel this way. I know I will love this baby either way. But, as the day goes on I feel like I'm having a girl this time. But, when I sleep and dream I'm having or going to have a boy. Is anyone else having anxiety over the gender?

When i was 15 weeks pregnant i took a bad fall and ended up in the hospital, scared that something was wrong with my little one...well my dreams have started since that night. That night i dreamnt of my grandma that passed away, she was holding my little boy and then out of no where she passes me him and says 'there i fixed him' when i woke up i called my mom to tell her, called my dad and my husband...my mom just thinks im nuts but my dad and hubby think that she was watching over him that night. But ever since that dream i have dreams now of people i know that have passed away holding my son in the hospital. Like for instance, my husbands sister's boyfriend died last December *he committed suicide :(* ive never met this guy; nor does he live close to me- but he's even been in my dreams holding my unborn son; anyone have any ideas why im having these type of dreams?

ariel1 - 1778 days ago.
I had the funniest dream that I was pregnant with this one and then when I was 8 weeks along I got pregnant again. The baby's were 8 weeks apart. I kept wondering if the younger baby would have to be born at the same time as the older baby. It was a crazy dream!

jessiezc - 1778 days ago.
Michelle007 - its funny, I had very similar dreams while I was pregnant. Dreams taht my hubby was leaving, or that someone/something was attacking and I had to defend myself, and baby. I discovered that no one should ever try to hurt my child or they'll be sorry! LoL. I would wake up so upset, and realize that I was a complete bada** on the inside. In the meantime, not pregnant, I dreamed that I went to stay at a hotel, hubby was going to meet me there and I was preparing the room deciding where we'd sleep with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. Umm... I only have a 15 month old. Not ready for another one. Nope. NOpe. Nope. woke up terrified.

michelle007 - 1779 days ago.
Ever since I've been pregnant, I've been having horrible nightmares, I have to be careful what I watch. Lately they have been about my husband leaving me. Why? He is a good guy and why in the world would I dream this? I know he would never leave, if I'm not dreaming about that than usually zombies are chasing me around! LOL! I really feel like I'm losing it! I CAN'T WAIT FOR BABY TO COME! Maybe these dreams will go away!

alugo - 1787 days ago.
Ever since I've been pregnant, I have dreams with characters from T.V. shows that my husband watches in them. Last night it was the entire Stargate Cast, honestly, I'm losing it.

bluefiregirl - 1787 days ago.
Last night i had a dream. I saw my two angel babies. They were happy and healthy and just beautiful. They were playing with two little girls that were on earth. Could that mean??? I don`t dare hope. Not so soon after losing my angels. But, it could mean that this pregnancy will have a positive outcome.

mandybear89 - 1815 days ago.
i dont have any bad dreams... in one of my dreams i was laying on my bed with my newborn on my chest and i was patting his bottom trying to soothe him... it felt so real that when i woke up and the weight was gone i was soo sad =/ another time i was laying on my side breastfeeding and i swear i could feel the weight of the baby next to me on the bed... THEY ARE SOOO REAL! its kinda weird

Senior baby - 1827 days ago.
ok i have 2 kids.. and im not pregnant right now (that i no of) but i keep having dreams (this past 2 weeks) that i drop a baby into a river on accident and i can actually feel the pain that i feel in the dream.. i can feel myself cry but im asleep. idk what it is cuz i never had dreams like this b4 except when i was pregnant.. the dream i had with my first is i dropped him into a bunch of rocks and the rocks got stuck inside his head... with my second pregnancy the dream was that he was sleeping beside me and he fell between the bed and wall and got crushed. now im dropping a baby into the river???!? wth!!...and every single one of the dreams including the most recent ones never show the babys face... it creeps me out

kaylaconn - 1827 days ago.
I'm walking through some gross dirty factory. There is a steamy, sweaty feel to the air. Some soot covered creepy guy walks up to me and gropes my crotch. I scream and back away. He still comes at me towards my preggo belly. I try to punch him but my fist is in slow motion. I make contact like a feather. I keep trying but my punches are useless. I start screaming for my husband who is somewhere in the building. The guy starts trying to lick my belly. My husband shows up-I order him to knock this guy out and I'm relieved for a second. It's short lived because my husband turns to me and said he doesn't believe me. He's not going to punch anyone on my word-he didn't see the guy do it-somehow eluding to my pregnancy hormones overreacting. I freak out on my husband, totally frustrated. My dad shows up. I tell my dad about the creep. Dad immediately hits and then throws the creep into some machinery, where the guy is mangled. I woke up hating my husband, but knowing my dad would always be there for me-no questions asked.

KylaRaquel - 1842 days ago.
OMG, ok.. Right when I found out I was pregnant with my 4th pregnancy (after 3 miscarriages prior) I had a very graphic and disturbing dream that I had a miscarriage. I specifically remember going to the washroom and seeing the baby come out, dangling from the umbilicle cord, and me screaming and crying. It was like a horrible horror movie... I suppose this is reflecting my fears of yet another miscarriage... Another dream I had somewhat recently, I had a dream that I was waiting int he hospital with my mom to give birth to my baby. I remember sitting in the hallway waiting to be admitted, but the baby didn't wait and I just gave birth right there in the hallway. I remember having the baby for a few days, raising her (it was a beautiful baby girl), but then, some how she turned into a cat... I remember feeling really really sad, as if my baby had grown too independant (going from a helpless little baby girl to a grown cat wandering outside, not wanting anytihng to do with me). Perhaps this represents my fear of not having that closeness with my baby when they grow up or something? I'm not sure, but it was weird!!! Another dream I had just last night, I had a baby boy, and I took him to this really big mall that had like a fair going on inside of it. I kept forgetting him EVERYWHERE! I lost him SO many times, and even had a couple people return him to me a few times throughout the dream! It was SO scary and frustrating!!

michelle007 - 1846 days ago.
YES! YES! YES!!! I have had all kinds of crazy dreams (mostly stupid bad dreams). About my husband , daughter, strangers, zombies, end of the world! The list goes on. I feel like I'm going crazy and my husband says I'm a weirdo!!! I wake up feeling like I've had no sleep. And sometimes pissed off with my husband! LOL! Not really funny, but true. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

sexi-motorhead - 1846 days ago.
Is anyone else having bad dreams about their partner? I keep have these really weird, very vivid dreams about cheating. I tried to explain it to him and all he did was sit there and laugh at me and tell me I was crazy. The weirdest one was the circus. I was big fat pregnant walking a tight rope dressed as a clown and he was the ring leader on the ground in a threesome. I can why ppl are laughing at me to a point, but it hurt my feelings a little. Anyone else dreaming crazy?????

babynguyen2 - 1847 days ago.
I had the worst pregnancy dream last night, I was dreaming of clear fluid and blood were running down my leg, I was have a miscarriage I think, but maybe I was getting ready to have the baby I don't really know. I'm so scared bout what this dream might mean, I'm nearly 16 weeks along and I don't want to lose this baby!

bubblez23 - 1856 days ago.
Today while I was napping, I woke from my sleep and thought I saw a huge yellow spider on the wall, I ran out of the room. This is the second time I've had this dream, but last time the spider was multi colored but still very big, the size that covers up a large part of the wall. I hate these dreams and its only happened since I've been pregnant. It sucks

mikesbaby - 1867 days ago.
I just had a dream that I had to deliver my best friend's baby in my living room. (She's not even pregnant.) I delivered the baby and it looked just like my daughter. And while I was delivering the baby my landlord was doing some serious construction on my apartment, and everyone I knew was there. The thing that pissed me off, though, was that she was only in labour for, like, five minutes, and it took only two pushes to get the baby out. It was a very vivid dream, though, right down to smalltalk and whatnot...I think I'm worried that my labour for this baby is going to be as bad as it was for my daughter... Sigh.

Beautiful Bre - 1870 days ago.
so starting like a week ago i started having a baby delivery dream or baby dream every night. maybe even over a week. but its every night. and in this dream my baby is always a boy but my dr tells me its a girl! so i dont know if it means anything or if im just having crazy dreams. my best friend had a dream i went into labor early too and that it was a boy! im just barely going to be 33 weeks this week

Beautiful Bre - 1916 days ago.
oh my gosh i have horrible dreams and i think they just get worse.. last night i had a dream that since i am 26 weeks prego my water broke but i was with my mom and no clue where my husband was.. then i had a dream that my husband died after the baby dream. talk about a horrible night of sleep!

nutnut - 1921 days ago.
oh... i also dreamed that i was having a boy. was at the dr and the u/s tech said that ones a boy, and so is this one, and this one and...then i woke up in a panic. another dream the doctor said there was two but not sure if the other one would make it. again i dreamed of two boys. maybe having multiple boys is my worst nightmare? LOL i have one girl. the biological father is a twin, but i know that has nothing to do with my odds of having multiples. i dunno lol.

nutnut - 1921 days ago.
i have been having dreams nearly every night. they arent typically nightmares. I will have to explain a little bit about my past few years. we lost my brother totally unexpectedly a year and 3 months ago, and my cousin 8month later (we were all raised together like siblings lived only a couple of blocks from each other growing up, etc.) a few years prior we lost 3 grandparents in a very short period of time as well. we were trying to have a child and i had thought i might have been pregant, when i got the news of my brother, but i wasn't. anyway, before i knew i was pregant, i had three seperate dreams on three consecutive nights. In all three, i cannot remember the specific details, only i remember watching a sceen (like a cafiteria) i wasnt in the big picture, it was more like watching a movie. i remember the first dream my grandmother was in it, and she was in the background cooking on a lunch line. she just looked up, as if she could see me, said nothing but smiled. the next night i had a similar dream involving my brother only he wasnt cooking but i dont remember what he was doing. the following night i had another dream of my cousin, coffee shop and she was one of the waitressess helping ppl and she also looked up and smile. they seemed happy, and the look made me feel like they knew something i did not. i thought they were telling me its ok, they are happy now, i didnt know i was pregnant. the dreams didnt depress me, but did leave me emotional. i had another dream about my daughter, and i was looking to buy her a toy (pokemon to be exact she loves pokemon) everything was pokemon, i couldnt find the toy, i ended up inside a video game as a character where i had to fight creatures, and fight my way in order to open up the secret shop that sold the pokemon she wanted. it was werid and colorful. another dream i had was everyone was at my house, only it was more of a warehouse with two stoves, one gas, one electric, my whole family was there even the ones who recently had passed away, along with people i didnt know. my aunt was moving the tables. two long rectagle tables. she kept moving them and driving me and my mother nuts. she kept putting them further and further from the food. it was somewhat frustrating. i remember the orange flames on the burner, not red like fire or blue, just bright orange flames like a child's drawing with crayon. i told my mother not to use that stove bc it made me nervous. but she said no she needed the bigger stove for the meal. i vaguely remember a cot like bed that was rolled up on side of the room as well. my uncle and male cousin were rolling it up and arguing with the person who owned the cot. the person who owned it said if they use it they are going to have to pay. then i woke up. last night i dreamed i was in a mall. there were ppl around and eloborate mazes of escillators, and elevators, they were all glass, with lights. the escillators attached to each other and i had to figure out how to get to the shops from these things, it was like a maze of moving steps and floors. i was with my partner, we were looking for baby items. but then we ended up in some store and she wanted to smoke, so we saw a door and went outside there were ppl out there and she started talking to them. to make a werid dream a little shorter, she ended up loosing me on purpose bc i was flipping out at her bc she told me she wanted to sleep with one of the ppl. i was livid. she ended up tricking me into getting lost and did what she wanted. i was lost for a long time and paranoid, i was running thru long dark hallways full of trash, i remember an old bike, bags of trash from the mall stores, those big gray bins, and then ppl came running down the hallway on a stretcher. there was a little boy on it hooked up to ivs and what not. he was in bad shape, then another stretcher had an old man on it. i kept tryin to get throught the corridors. they were like what you would see in a mall where the employees typically use to take out their trash and what not, get their deliveries etc. i was so mad in this dream. ive never felt this much anger before. so then i got out and ended up on a train. the train also had alot of clutter and some ppl, it had furniture like for a living room in it, that was partially covered with drop clothes. ppl were sitting around, and my partner was there making sexual advances towards me after everything that just happend. in the middle of the advances she decided to talk about what she did with this other person like it was part of every day converstaion, no big deal. so i freaked out and was crying hysterical and screaming. it was bad. theres more detail to this but ill skip it. it involved me hitting and that is not typical behavior for me. i remember yelling that she wanted this baby, im pregant bc she wanted me to have another one. yelling i really didnt want anymore bc the one little girl we have is enough for me. i dont really feel this way. i wanted another baby alot. we have been trying for awhile, then after the deaths in the family i said i wasnt ready and needed to wait a little. i was so angry in my dream bc she was leaving me and acted like it didnt even matter that i was pregnant. i didnt care about the sleeping iwth someone else (odd?) just that she was leaving me and i didnt even know where i was or how to find my way home. i woke up mad as hell at her too, about 20 minutes ago. this dream bothers me more than any of the other dreams. ive had more dreams than these in the past 8 weeks. i really cant take the dreaming anymore. i end up having disrupted sleep, not getting enough sleep, restless sleep, and feel so tired mid way through the next day. if im gonna be dreaming like this the whole pregnancy i think im going to go nuts. should i tell my doctor? i feel so stupid. but they affect my sleep. and then i feel so moody the rest of the day depending on the type of dream i had. i didnt have these sort of dreams with my first. but then i also have gone through so much the past few years, and maybe this is why im dreaming. i dont know. anyone else have dreams nearly every night, loose sleep over it, etc. does it ever stop? is there something i can do? i know my partner is very happy about this pregnancy by the way, and will not leave me in the middle of it, or leave me in general. she drives truck over the road and isnt home alot though. she works hard to take care of us and adores our first, and is over joyed about the second. so i dont know why i am having all these dreams. =/ i just want one night to sleep peacefully! ugh =/

Beautiful Bre - 1927 days ago.
im 24 weeks prego and i have only had TWO baby dreams so far. well, i have horrible horrible dreams every night pretty much. i wake up and feel like my heart is ready to burst outa my chest its beating soo hard! you see my husband works grave yards like 6 days a week and the only night i dont remember my dreams is when he is home! but i dream about people coming into my house and killing us freaking horrible things! will i dream like this the whole time im prego?!

jeniwalker - 1928 days ago.
man, I just woke up from the worst dream ever... I go in to have my c-section and they tell me I'm crazy there is no baby there. I sit and argue with my Dr, that 'It is not possible that I'm not pregnant with all the ultrasounds and NST's I've been having (I have GD so I have one of each every week) and I insist they cut me open anyway. It turned out that my Dr was right and I wasn't pregnant. I started crying in my dream and woke myself up crying... I really feel awful now.

4thonitsway - 1928 days ago.
I dreamt I went in to have my baby and as Im talking to the doc about getting my tubes tied he tells me he cant do it cause Im already pregnant again, that they are going to take the full term baby out and leave the new baby in. I was freaking out
