What kind of memorable dreams have you experienced?

Dreams During Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a very emotional time in a woman's life. It is common to experience vivid dreams that are unique and memorable. The vivid dreams are believed to be caused by increased hormone levels during pregnancy. Hormones have been shown to affect emotions and during pregnancy, the levels of estrogen and progesterone is higher than ever. The emotional battles you face during the day can wreck havoc on you during the night and play a part in your dreams, fantasies and fears.

Most women do experience some type of unusual dream during their pregnancy. Occasionally, the dream is upsetting or alarming. Dreams are normal and healthy and can help you to sort out your worries or fears in a healthy way. You might have dreams regarding the health of your baby, sex of the baby, impending birth or other pregnancy related concerns. The most common dreams during pregnancy center around our fears or apprehensions of pregnancy and baby related topics.

When you wake up, can you clearly recall what your dream was about? If so, you should try to find out the emotion that you were experiencing. Were you happy? Sad? Afraid? Grab a pen and a piece of paper and write down what you remember from the dream and how you felt. Try to connect your dream to a feeling that you have in your life. Is there a reason that you might be feeling scared, upset or dissapointed? Listen to what your dreams are telling you and see if they relate to your real-life feelings, worries or concerns.

Many pregnant women dream about losing things or forgetting important things. You might dream about forgetting to feed your baby or leaving him in a store. Some pregnant mothers have dreams that they will not have everything they need when the baby is born. If you have dreams about losing things or forgetting appointments, items or other things, perhaps you feel that you may not be fully prepared to take on the task of motherhood.

Often when pregnant mothers feel that they are "stuck" in their pregnancy or are afradid of being tied down because of the baby, they dream about being enclosed in tight spaces or trapped in a car, tunnel or small room. You might also dream that you are drowning in a pool, a lake or other body of water.

Women that are adjusting to a new diet or are afraid of gaining weight during their pregnancy, frequently have weight-related dreams. Mothers may dream that they are gaining too much weight or "wake up" in their dream feeling too large. You might experience a dream where you are eating the wrong foods or drinking the wrong drinks. Some women that are afraid of losing their appeal or are afraid that they will not be attractive after pregnancy often have dreams about her husband or partner finding a new mate.

Almost all pregnant mothers will have dreams about the new baby and what their family will be like after the baby is born. You might experience life-like dreams of delivering your baby and caring for her. This is simply your body's way of preparing you for the upcoming birth of your child. Dreams about the baby's size, condition or appearance may express anxiety concerning the baby's health at birth. Dreams regarding your baby's inteeligence may be shown through the baby talking or walking at birth. If you have your heart set on a particular sex, you might have dreams regarding the gender of your child.

I had a dream last night that I had no butt crack and my butt cheeks (er..butt cheek) were all flat. I wish I could draw you all a picture of what it looked like! LOL It was horrendous! What a nightmare! I think it is because I am on bed rest and I am afraid of losing my muscle! Don't worry ppl I checked and it is still there.

I have been having a TON of dreams about me having this baby early. I am on a blood thinner due to previous miscarriages, so if I go into labor before being off my heparin I can’t have an epidural and I am sure I will need a blood coagulant. Therefore I need to be induced so I can stop taking the shots a few days before. I think it is my inner self answering my prayers because I really want to have this little boy on a day that no one is expecting. And I would even be game trying it without an epidural… so I am living thru my dreams right now :)

Another thing! When I used to dream about me having my baby already, I would dream it was a girl but on the next dream it was a boy, then a girl then a boy. I had my first ultrasound at 5 months and they told me its a girl but my family thinks its a boy cause of the symptoms I had; faiting, vomiting and I lost 20 pounds for the first 3 months (but thank god its over). So im not sure and I don't know when im having another ultrasound to make sure :|

I would have the nicest dreams during my first trimester. I would always dream about me having my baby already or anybodys baby. Now im almost 7 monts and I've been having the weirdest dreams and most of the time nightmares. That's why sometimes im just scare to go to sleep cause I don't know what's my dream is going to be about. Is this normal? Help!

ilandra - 2102 days ago.
My dreams have been the weirdest ever I swear. Yesterday my husband got a ride home from one of his coworkers cause our car was out of gas. So he came home and told me that she gave him a ride home. When I went to bed I had a horrible horrible dream that I went outside to get into the car because my water broke. (I am 9 months pregnant) So I could go to get him then go to the hospital. And in the car I found the 2 of them making out and fondling each other.I woke up screaming. I mean seriously what kind of person has a stupid dream like that?

kingsmommii - 2103 days ago.
Well...I had a dream that I had my baby ,they took him away to check him and rolled him back in...i didnt get him i just watched him sleep for a while then i dosed off too...then the next thing i know he was crawling out of the bed over my head to my breast...then he looked at me and gently laid his head down...Weird!

BABYLOVE>...i wish u the BEST of luck with everything, your post really touched me. I have had some weird dreams myself. I am 11 weeks pregnant and i have dreamed of both sexes so its hard to tell. I would love either, but i really want a girl and I have been doing all these chinese calender things and it all says BOY, but also a dream i had..someone i never met in my life, a female...sorda just walked up to me, like an angel,,,and said in a calming voice, 'you are going to have a girl' and then a flock of killer bees came and i woke up...WAY TO KILL THE DREAM HUH..lol

I am not sure if you were close with this co-worker but maybe your dream is telling you that the co-worker is taking care of one or all 3 of the previous babies that were not full term. I have recently come to terms that my three losses are in heaven with loved ones. I guess I never doubted that their souls were in heaven it has just recently been more obvious to me. Just my interpretation, but I too like to read into my dreams and I truly believe that your babies could be with this coworker.

Hey everyone! i was just wondering...im nearly 10 weeks pregnant and i know it sounds bad but i have my heart set on having a girl, knowing that im going to be alone with this child and having 3 little sisters ill know how to handle it....and all my dreams about being pregnant have been a boy. Are dreams generally what it is?

krista09 - 2109 days ago.
I have had about 4 dreams that I am having a girl... I cant wait to find out what it is!!

boady - 2109 days ago.
ellag: dreams are not the opposite.. dreams are just that dreams. Dreams don't give you an insite of what's going to happen. BUT dreaming like that.. being pregnant is a wonderfull thing. I hope you are pregnant but if not you dreaming you are pregnant will keep you trying to get pregnant.

Had a weird one the other night...I'm 29 weeks and I just got my breast pump. I guess I was pretty excited about it because in my dream I pumped a bottle of milk (still at 29 weeks) and put it in the fridge 'just to be prepared' and my fiance was laughing at me and I just kept saying...'I want to make sure I'm ready for when she comes!' Then when I woke up I was all ready to pump! Until I remembered that I still have 11 weeks to wait...

Ok, having wierd dreams, I have to share. I was like about 20 weeks in my dream and I went to the doctor's for a check up. Then the doctor cut my stomac and took out my baby. I was knocked out. I wake up and they give me my baby so tiny. Then they told me that I had to go home. I was like wait a minute shouldn't he stay, I was only 20 weeks! They then said no he's 5 pounds and 10 ounces you can go. I was so confused. Then they gave me a Christmas chocolate calendar and told me Merry Christmas. (I'll be like 15 weeks for Christmas) I woke up with a what the heck was that!

When i was pregnant with my first son, i had a dream that i will remember forever and so will my husband. One night he was packing his lunch for work the next day and we had no bread for him to make a sandwich. we had this stupid conversation about having no bread in the house and then i went to bed. I had a dream that night that a peice of bread with arms hands legs and feet were chasing me yelling take me home. My husband woke me up in the middle of my nightmare because i was screaming I HATE BREAD.? He truley was freaked out that night and to be honest so was I. But that was only one of the many strange dreams i had while i was preg.

jasmine08 - 2166 days ago.
I had a dream right after i had my first daughter that i lost my baby and i was holding my baby in a baby blanket in bed. I woke up and thought to myself that is crazy. Why am i having a dream about losing my baby when she is here with me. A couple months later i was pregnant, i was having complication and i lost my baby at 19 wks pregnant . Deja Vu because me holding my baby in her blanket in the hospital bed was my second child. Everything that was going on in my dream was happening real life. It was weird about a year before anything i dreamt my own miscarriage. So every time i have a dream dealing with me and being pregnant i tried to either write them down or tell my husband so he can remember it. On a lighter note I am pregnant now and everything is going good. Besides the fact i am on bedrest since 20 weeks and was adv not to have sex until after the baby is born. I'm only 28 weeks :) Just imagine what kind of sex dreams im having. ha ha

I had this dream, last night, that I was on a beach, right after my baby was born (I'm six months along) and he went back and forth between seeming real and seeming to be a doll. I knew I should be in a hospital (I have C-sections), but I had to attend this meeting at a friend's painting studio on the beach (I'm a painter). I didn't want to be helping anyone with anything, I wanted to be alone with my baby, in a hospital, but I didn't know how to get out of there. All these strangers kept passing my baby around and sending me on errands, without him. I left him behind to do something, and while I was gone, I overheard an older couple talking about a tidal wave headed for the beach that had 'something to do with cancer'. I ran for the beach screaming 'Who has my baby? Who has my baby?' and found him on the sand, a doll. These waves kept hitting, over and over, and I was having a hard time keeping him above the water as it crashed in. When we reached the shore, he was a real baby, again, and I realized I hadn't even breastfed him, yet. When I went to do it, people kept interupting me and then I kind of faded out of the dream. I felt so overwhelmed- I have a lot of demands on me, and I think I'm really having a lot of anxiety about keeping up with another baby (my third, plus my disabled brother I care for). I feel like I'm going to let this baby down.

cblooflat - 2166 days ago.
why is everyone dreaming about their babies and i dream about sex... i feel guilty when i wake up because its not my husband in the dream!!!! I don't have feelings for anyone but him. and the people in the dream i don't ever recognize... WTH you guys??? i don't always dream about sex but majority of the time thats what it is. I did have the bleeding dream too which scared me because i had a miscarraige in april.
