First Time Mums Q and A

What concerns you most about becoming a mother?

First Time Mums Q & A
Finding out you are pregnant and becoming a parent can bring out a wide range of emotions. It is normal to feel shocked, scared, happy, frustrated, ecstatic and many other emotions-all at once! Many women, especially first time mothers, have questions regarding their pregnancy, postpartum care and the care for a newborn baby. Alot of changes take place to a woman's body during pregnancy.

If you have a particular question, feel free to ask it here and see what other moms have to say. It is important to know that other women often feel the same feelings that you do before, during and after pregnancy. You might be surprised to find out how many other women were thinking or wondering the same thing!

Tiffannie - 240 days ago.
I am 8 weeks, and I can't stop throwing up. I cant stand the sight, smell of food, or really anything for that matter. What can I do?

Olatoks2@yahoo.com - 445 days ago.

Hiya love4bb i just came across your post I wouldnt worry too much i didn't gain any weight either infact i lost weight. Baby will still be small at 12 weeks so its unlikely you will gain any from that. You dont need to try and fatten up just eat healthily when u can and baby will get everything it needs

love4bb - 707 days ago.
Hello, this is my first pregnancy. I'm current at 12 weeks. One concern I have it that I haven't gain any weight at all. I have been eating or trying to eat more and more often, but nothing is working. I even try eating fattier food from time to time, but nothing. No gain. I'm very worry that something is wrong with me or the baby. How much weight should I have gain, at least couple of pounds?? Has this happened to anyone else? Please advice. thank you so so much.

I still have them very bad. Now I know how my mom feels going through menopause. LOL. I don't have them every night, but at least 5 out of 7 nights. Up at 3 most nights and again between 630 and 7. I think it's driving hubby crazy, but he just hugs me and rubs my belly when I come back to bed LOL

superolive1553 - 762 days ago.
ive started getting sweatly... more so than normal... no night sweats though... then again i have been using the ac alot more than normal... i hope i dont get night sweats... i cant sleep like that!

Lilmissesmum- - 762 days ago.
Jbaum I had some very hot night in the beginning, I think once my hormones settled down a bit I had them less and less. Hopefully they go soon.

Jbaum - 763 days ago.
Has any one else experienced night sweats? I am 5W5D. Not only I am up 2 or 3 times a night, but the night sweats are driving me crazy. We turn our furnace off at night, have the ceiling fan in the bedroom going, have the window wide open (there is still 6inches to a foot of snow outside) and I am still waking up Soaking wet from sweat. Does this continue the entire pregnancy?

Hi All, I'm a first time mum currently 11.5 weeks pregnant. I'm 23 and my partner is 29. Were in Perth, WA. Australia. Anyone in our area in a similar age bracket and due date? I wish you all happy and safe pregnancies!

kimberlyt22 - 879 days ago.
This will be my first pregnancy. Just found out I was pregnant. I had 2 miscarriages back to back earlier this year. Both were at about 4.5 weeks before I could make my first doctors appointment. I can't help but have that 'what if it happens again feeling' with this one. Anyone else been in this position? I feel like the 'first time' excitement has kinda been taken away, and I can't truly be excited until I get past these first few weeks.

kim2nick - 924 days ago.
Hey moms.. I need some advice..My fiance and I are expecting our first child. We couldnt be happier about it! My family is overjoyed with the pregnancy, but his family is far from happy... My problem, I feel so guilty for being happy when we are with my family when he doesnt have that! How can I make this better?

newmom1005 - 1068 days ago.
Sam- I have been having this problem my entire preganacy... Liners will become your best friend... As long as you are having no irritation and it doesn't have a smell you should be fine... I would bring it up at your next appointment just to ease your mind.

debmomof2 - 1069 days ago.
sam- yes it is normal to have discharge all through your pregnancy .... only time to worry is when the discharge turns color or has a smell to it then you should call your doctor. Snotty like discharge is very normal.

SamanthaRabie - 1069 days ago.
Hi all im almost 22weeks, i noticed that i am constantly 'wet' down there, its like a see-through almost white discharge, and its always present, is this normal or should i call my dr?is it normal to always have a discharge or not, in the beginning of my pregnancy i cant remember ever experiencing this...it sort of should up two weeks ago or so...

I cant find a topic on stress so I hope no one minds me asking in here. around a month ago me and my old best friend had a massive bust up, wer not going to make up after this she has hit way too below the belt too many times. anyways we argued about money and now am gettin stressed out so so much because of her and my other old friend. He got involved when it has nothin to do with him, hes going around saying im going to lose my baby, which has not only upset my but infuriated me (is tha how you spell it sorry) but im feeling so stressed at the moment and I cant help but feel im gunna end up losin my baby because of it I cant find a way to get to a happy place because usually its just sitting down and chillin on the internet but when am on here Im always seeing messages and comments ? ive already changed my number so they cant get hold of me and they dont know where I live but the lad who got involved keeps sendin messages to me via my housemate am guna scream soon!!!!

manda-may - 1228 days ago.
iamlala chances are that things are just fine. You can't do much now no matter what anyway, except to try to relax and take care of you and baby. Go to your doctor and get yourself and baby checked out for your own peace of mind though. Your doctor can prescribe some folic acid, and give you more information. You can buy vitamins and start taking them. Remember that way back when, Mums used to eat and drink whatever they wanted and we still arrived into the world healthy and happy most of the time. My mother apparently drank coca cola morning noon and night all through her pregnancies as well as eating goodness knows what and had 3 healthy children, and sometimes people that do everything right and follow all the rules still have things happen, that's life. Good luck with your pregnancy I wish you all the best!

iamlala - 1228 days ago.
i have a questiomn. ive always had irregular periods, so when i didnt get my period for awhile i didnt think of anything. it wasnt till i got fatique, tender breasts etc that i took a pregnancy test. and i am pos. im 14 weeks almost 15. i havent taken prenatal vitamins, drank 5(not heavy) times in the past 15 weeks, and not eating as healthy. im starting to show a little, and can feel movements at times. but what are the chances of the baby being already damaged. itll be a few days till i see a doc, and really want to know.

luvin Colton - 1306 days ago.
nishabunnie: i love the baby boutique bedding, and beyond bedding on ebay sells crib sets for so cheap if you wait to bid instead of buy it now, i got a luxury set (13 items) for only 50.00! saved over 150 from all the other places. very happy came right away brand new in package! so search under ebay stores beyond bedding should bring you to it, lots of cute modern baby themes!

NanaBear - 1331 days ago.
Thanks Bri.. I was really worried. My first pregnancy was a miscarriage and I dont want any problems this time around. A little paranoid I guess.

nishabunnie - 1335 days ago.
thanx bri...i went to babies r us already an i didnt really see anythin that i liked but im goin to try the pottery barn

Bri - 1335 days ago.
nishabunnie - Depending on how much you want to spend...I've seen some really pretty and elegant beddings at Potty Barn Kids. I've also seen some but not as many at Babies R Us. It really depends on what you like.

Bri - 1335 days ago.
NanaBear - Definately not. Like Manda said, there is lots and lots of protection for your little one. Even the blows to the belly that I get from my 22 month old didn't phase this little guy. No worries. If it does start to become uncomfortable then maternity clothes will be much easier and much more comfortable.

nishabunnie - 1335 days ago.
I'm lookin for a nursery room theme for my son..does anyone have any good ideas...at first my husband an i were gonna do ralph lauren polo but they don make baby bedding...we're lookin for the more sophisticated baby look...any ideas would be helpful
