chelle7- We lost Peter Jr on Aug 20. The OB recommended to wait 2 full menstrual cycles. I got my first period end of Sept, second period end of Oct. We TTCd after I ovulated mid Nov. And got pregnant that cycle. I know your feeling about being scared too TTC again. I was all for it one minute, and terrified the next. My poor fiance, having to deal with my craziness. But follow your gut. If you don't think you can handle the stress of having a little one in you growing again at this moment, then wait a month. The feelings of fear and anxiety sadly will be there for the whole pregnancy. You just need to mentally prepare yourself. Best of luck. And I'm sorry about your little girl, but now you will have an angel watching over this pregnancy

yildirim - 12 hours ago.
Hi all - Very quiet in here - i hope everyone is still ok? Well i cant believe i havent gone into labour as yet! Im telling you that pessary should be used in more cases of IC ... Its seems to have done an amazing job - and now my cervix is so strong - im really hoping i dont have to be induced. I had it removed at 35 weeks - im now 39 weeks and still no change on dilation or cervix! I really hope more girls can hear about this pessary as when they are too late for the cerclage this is an amazing piece of rubber which can obviously save babies.

chelle7 - 2 days ago.
beegee - I'm so glad you ended up with your rainbow baby!! How long after you lost your ds did you ttc, it has been 4 months for me and i really want to ttc again but the fear of what feelings being pregnant again will bring is stoping me!!

beegee - 3 days ago.
Hi room!!! Wow, not too busy in here. It's great to see some of the ladies still trucking along in here, cooking those babies. Sorry to read about the new members who are here because of loses. Believe it or not, it does get easier. The pain and hurt don't go away, but they do get easier to manage. I too was in your shoes. I lost my first, my son, at 21wks. Rocked my world. Had I known about this forum when I was pregnant, I truely do believe my story would be different. I would have a 14month old little boy. But I didn't know about this room, and I didn't know how quickly IC could take over. And instead I am blessed with a 6month old little girl. Trust your guts, question your drs, and remember that you are your babies only advocate. If you have any questions, I'm here. Like I said, I had the cerclage, cervix decided that it didn't want to stay long, strict bedrest, and weekly progesterone injections later, I had to be induced. Haha, isn't life a b!tch

chelle7 - 9 days ago.
Kariband - I too lost a little one, i was 20 weeks. You have been so strong to be able to embark on another pregnancy!! Your half way!!!!!! Be safe in the knowledge the doctors should be looking after you!! I think you should try to get yourself into a little routine at bed time ! maybe wind down with a bath before bed and a hot drink, sometimes the focus on something else will help you relax! Stay positive ! Your doing fab!!

chelle7 - 9 days ago.
Vildirim - i am soo pleased you are coming to the end of your long journey and beguining of a new exciting one soon!!!!! You have been an inspiration of positivity throughout your journey and i wish you all the best for whats to come!! x

yildirim - 10 days ago.
Well girls i have finished my course of antibiotics - im better but not 100%. I still have a sore throat - im hoping that fades away with the antibiotics getting out of my system. I have started to the last things done - and repacked my hospital bag for the 3rd time! We are wondering how cosy she is in there as every one is here waiting for her!! I was having 4D ultrasounds and check ups every 2 weeks, which has now gone weekly - so im very lucky i get that every week now. I have one today so i will update you all! STAY POSITIVE GIRLS XXXX

yildirim - 10 days ago.
issigirl - You are now half way - well done! Thats amazing - i hope you are coping well with bedrest. Chelle7 - Glad they have offered you the stitch for you future pregnancies - i would also be really nervous - but im sure the others can say it was worth it. God luck with ttc!

yildirim - 10 days ago.
Kari - I myself spend a lot of time crying - most of the time more than once a day - for many hours - although i have an amazing husband who comforted me and got me through everything - i was still very scared of what would happen, and also very scared of how i would deal with everything if something bad did happen. But what i have learnt from this last 15 weeks is you must keep positive. And you must eat - i ate a lot from boredom! Think of your baby getting strong and healthy and eat good sized meals. I know the next few weeks are going to be hard - but i promise - with your positive attitude - the next few weeks will fly by. I never thought id be here today - and im now 38 weeks this week!!! If i can do it you can too :o))))

chelle7 - 10 days ago.
Hi ladies, issigrl13 - congratulations on reaching week 20, i've tried to post this a few times but it's not working. How is your bed rest going? Have you had any complications with your stitch. i myself have seen my consultant who has told me i will need a stitch for any future pregnancys! This makes me very nervous, but not so much that i don't want to ttc! x

monika01 - 11 days ago.

babygirlFAITH - 16 days ago.
hi ladys :) its been awile sence i ladt posted ...I ended up in the hospital wth preterm labor at 33 wks my cervix was 60% effaced and 2 inside and 2 out (dialated) was giving nifephidime for contractions they had to increase the dose the first 3 days as i was still contracting but the first day i recived the steriod injection then another 12 hrs later . and my pregestrone injection..so its been a wk ! im now 34wks 4 days !! off the meds except progestrone injection last one on friday if i make it.. but i feel gd on bedrest but they will deliver if my labor starts again... but yes the pregstrone injections are great they streanth the cervix by rebuilding its tissue and the nifepidime smoothes the utrues to help stop contractions its a team effort :) hope everyone is gd and remember stay hydrated pee alot no holding it!

isisgrl13 - 16 days ago.
get better soon momma:) baby will be here soon:)

isisgrl13 - 16 days ago.
20 weeks today:) the next ten weeks are gonna be so scary!!! lol but god willing everything works out:) lots of kicks now. baby is still low. wonder if it will orbwhen it will come up abit? STAY AWAY FROM MOMMIES CERVIX !!! lol

yildirim - 17 days ago.
Kariband - You need to relax and keep your feet up - keep yourself busy with books, films and internet etc. Also make sure you are getting the right meds to help your cervix keep its length and to decrease any contractions etc - progestione and magnesium etc. Once you reach 24 weeks - they are able to stop labour contractions with drip before you are 4cm DILATED. Also find out when you your hospital or doctor will allow you to have the steroid shots for lung development. Although it doesnt take effect untill 28 weeks - its worth a try from as soon as your doctor will allow it. However you seem to have a good length, and you have a cerclage, and that if you really rest etc you can keep your length or even increase it. I was 1.2cm from 23 weeks, And i still am... Well girls i hope your all ok - i will be FULL TERM this weekend!!! I hope i can be an example and keep you all positive from my journey - just remember to keep positive. Unfortunately i have had a bad week though - flu with temperature and sore throat - i have been given antibiotics yesterday so i hope i get better before she is here them i will have time to spring clean and disinfect the house!

Monika01- Having the TAC put in was the best thing I ever did. We had such an uneventful pregnancy this time. Before I was always in and out of the hospital. Can't wait to try for our 2nd TAC baby! Check on the yahoo abbyloopers group. They have a list of the Dr.s that perform the TAC. Most OB's have not dealt with the TAC much so they don't have much info.

monika01 - 20 days ago.
i am too looking into into the tac.. as i want another baby but no bedrest .. really dont want to miss out on my babys life for 9 months. :) going to ask my OB about it ... maybe she knows someone.. or get a periantoligist and them find someone in our area.

monika01 - 20 days ago.
kariband.. ~ i too was on strict bed rest. feet up up up, i also place a pillow under my bum and one or two under my feet for a few to many hours a day till i made it too 24 wks... than i felt more at ease being viable. :O) try to relx...lol.. i know its tough... i printed coloring pages and rented many dvds... best of luck you can do it !!!

kariband - 20 days ago.
Hi everyone, I am 19 weeks pregnant and I had a cerclage done 3 weeks ago and I had a Sono done 3 days ago, I was at a 3.1 but with the last sono I am now at 2.6 an am on strict bed rest, I am so scared that I will be going through what we went through almost a year ago which is loosing our son at 22 weeks...my question is what is anything I can do to help my situation?

carlos-erin - 20 days ago.
Brownie-Just to let you know there are other options than doing a vaginal cerclage. A abdominal cerclage can be done even before you are pregnant and there should be no bed rest as long as no other complications occur. They have a high success rate than the vaginal cerclage. Once it is placed you will not have to have another cerclage placed. But you would be required to have a c-section. You can get more info about it if yo look up abbyloopers on yahoo groups. I had mine placed with my last pregnancy and had no complications after having lost 3 other pregnancies 2 due to IC. So sorry for your loss. It really sucks that so many families have to go through this pain.
