monika01- Ya i know its hard, trust me though you get threw this and a soon as you have that baby you wont even remember what its like to really be pregnant! you really do forget . you forget about how miserable it is being on bedrest, soon you will just be consumed with breastfeeding, poopy diapers, sleepless nights days haha. and it flies by...alexis is 6 mnts now i cant believe it! i just remember being on here every day, all i could think about was making it to the next week how long my cervix was how much i hate bed rest! its all a blur now! you will get there just hang on! i know it feels like forever!

PennyGrace - 254 days ago.
Cervix length today was 3.65 cm @ 15 weeks! I get my cerclage in the next 2 weeks. So happy everything is holding in so I thought I would share! Good luck everyone.

syrenasbaby - 254 days ago.
HEY LADIES...I WENT FOR MY SECOND 17P SHOT TODAY AND IT WENT WELL DIDN'T EVEN FELL IT!!!BUT WHILE I WAS THERE THE NURSE MADE ME FEEL REALLY GOOD. SHE HAD PICS OF SO MANY BABIES THAT WERE BORN TO WOMEN WHO BEEN THROUGH THE SAME THING WERE GOING THROUGH,AS FAR AS IC AND PRETERM LABOR...SHE SAID SHE STARTED COLLECTING PICS SO THAT PATIENTS CAN SEE THAT WHAT WERE GOING THROUGH REALLY DOES PAY OFF AND TO GIVE US ALL HOPE!! I THOUGHT THAT WAS SWEET.

monika01 - 254 days ago.
I hop ei can go off bed rest at 32 wks that would be GReat!! lol.. i guess i am having a hard tim now since i have been pg for over a yr . i'm jus tsick and tired of being tired and moody... wk 26 now so thats good :O) i am moving a bit more goin to the grocery store once a week and an outing for an hour or so.. ( most ly in the car sitting /lying down ) eery couple days...

dominique23 - 254 days ago.
monika01- they will only remove your stitch that early if you are having steady contractions. like others said too much of a risk to your baby just in case you did go into labor right away, lungs may not be mature enough even if the baby is big. mine was removed at 33 weeks because i started bleeding and was having contractions and didnt even know it. and i had popped a stitch. dilated to 3 right away, then 5 the next week had baby at 37 weeks. i went off bed rest at 32 weeks, and my length was 1.4cm .

jessa521 - 257 days ago.
monika...hang in there. My last pregnancy we made it to 35 weeks :) My 35 weeker was 6lb 12 oz and came right home; he too was really big for his gestation. My goal is 34 this time too. You're doing great....keep that little one cookin :)

monika01 - 257 days ago.
well.. i have been pg for a yr now since we got pg immed. after last pg.. I am exhausted... i am going to talk to my ob and see if they can remove the stitch at 35 wks instead of 36. we'll see what she says.. she sayid before that if i make it to 32 weeks i can resume a bit more movement to up my stamina.. nothing big but folding the laundry or something...... she says if i get to 28 she ill be thrilled... so almost there... and we hope that 34 wks for sure.. but i think that will depend on size....

jessa521 - 257 days ago.
monika...I doubt they'd remove it that early. It's all due to risk. If you deliver shortly after removal, they could be liable. I had a 32 weeker and he spent over 6 weeks in the NICU. He too was really big for his gestation, but at 32 weeks was still only 4 lb 14 oz. I think the only way they would remove it early is if there is another factor, like a distress/danger with the baby or you. If your LO continues to stay really big, I'd bet they wouldn't encourage delivery prior to 37 weeks. You're doing great. Hang in there.

DReavega - 258 days ago.
Monika, unfortuantetly I don't think they will remove the cerclage that early because of lung development. I belong to another IC group and a mom there has a Tac and is a rupture risk due to previous c section and before they would schedule her for her c section she had to do an amnio to check lung development....maybe if yall do the amnio at 33 weeks and it shows complete maturity. Im worried about the strength to deliver the baby too but I suppose we'll figure it out when we get there!

monika01 - 259 days ago.
Can i ask my ob for earlier removal of the cerclage if baby is really big... she measures in the 90% ile for several weeks now over a month and i really dont want to push out a baby over 9 pds since i will have no stamina... she is measureing weight wise about 2 -3 wks ahead.. and a week or so ahead in length. If she is BIG then maybe they can remove the stich at 32wks or 33 .? maybe a csection? just not sure... she was about 1.5 pds at 23 wks and she was suppose to be a pund... every time a tech ses her they say wow. big healthy baby.. BIG... no wonder i am bigger then most ppl.

ddhenry1220 - 259 days ago.
Hey everyone...still hanging in there. 22 weeks today and cervix is still more than 4 cm. Baby is active, I've just been getting really restless.

jumama - 259 days ago.
Had appt with my regular ob today instead of with the pernitologist. So he didn't check cervix this time but will be having it checked again on the 13th. They are hoping these 2 will stay cookin 3 more weeks by than I will be 36 so thats will be nice. Hope you are all doing well.

DReavega - 259 days ago.
Lol @ Erin, I know what you mean, my doctors visits are a highlight too! I tell my husband I now understand why our dog gets so excited and jumps up and down when we ask ger if she wants to go fir a ride!

carlos-erin - 259 days ago.
Just got back from my check up. Baby is looking really good. Weighs about 11 ounces. Measured my cervix at 4.1 Dr. wants to start seeing my every 2 weeks now. So sad that I actually look forward to my Dr. appts so that I get out of the house during the week.

monika01 - 259 days ago.
DReavega~ I aon on full bed ret for over 3 months now since wk 13 but i was on moderate bedrest from wk 7. we went to the store yesterday to try fnish buyng baby stuff and we are almost done 98% now. DReavega - 259 days ago.
Hello all you wonderful mommas! I hope everyone is doing well today, I'm going nuts at home, today more than usual! How many of you are also on bedrest?

beegee - 260 days ago.
All of you guys are killing me. My CL hasn't been above 2.0cm since wk 20. I've been around 1.1-1.6. Geez louise. Jumama- good luck at your appt tomorrow, hell at least it's another week down, right?

syrenasbaby - 260 days ago.
Jumama...good luck at your appt... Jessa521...cL is great!!!they changed my appt. To 4 weeks too...at least for now

jumama - 260 days ago.
Syrenasbaby thanks, I'm having identical boys. I have appt tomorrow with my ob I have just been seeing the pernitologist so will see how that goes Last appt cl was at .80.

jessa521 - 260 days ago.
Had a great US today! Cervix is still 3.6cm. I've been seeing the specialist every two weeks in addition to my OBGYN and they just extended to four weeks. I'm hoping on June 30 all still looks good; it was that time during my last pregnancy that I started to dilate and went on bedrest. I'm really hoping we can make it to 35 weeks again!! I think the 17P injections have helped a considerable amount my last two pregnancies. I'm so grateful they are still available!

syrenasbaby - 260 days ago.
Jumama...omg I didn't know you were having twins!!congrats!!

syrenasbaby - 260 days ago.
Dreavega...thanks!!you have a great cL as well!!woohoo!!we haven't came up with any names yet,but the baby we lost 9-11-2010 at 21weeks was a boy as well and his name was Kobe Jordan so we have to think of another name

DReavega - 260 days ago.
Great length Syrena! I just had a sono yesterday and I was holding between 3.8 to 4.1, although it was done abdominally so its not as accurate as a tvu. I will have a tvu on monday though when I see the mfm doc. Also congrats on team blue! Any names?

PennyGrace - 260 days ago.
Thanks everyone! I have done some research and there is some evidence to say that the pessaries are effective because they deliver the progesterone directly onto the cervical tissue where it concentrates But then if you have a higher blood progesterone level that might be safer??? Oh so confusing! Monika01 - The OB didnt offer the cerclage before 16 weeks and said it is protocol to do it between 16 and 18 weeks. He said that it is because the placenta hasnt truely taken over properly until 14 weeks!? (I thought it was 12) I am a bit jelous that you all have yours at 13 weeks! Carlos-Erin - I might ask about the shots at my next visit especially if research suggests they are more effective. ANYTHING to keep this one in this time. I just want to be able to stay at home with my hubby and daughter. Thanks again everyone it is such a help read about the different treatments that are available.

carlos-erin - 261 days ago.
penny- i asked my Dr. the same question on the difference. She said that all the studies had been done with the shots and not with the pessaries. she wasn't sure if taking one over the other was better since the pessaries had no study to show. So I opted for the shots. more expensive and a pain to deal with but makes me feel that I am doing everything I can to deliver a healthy baby.
