DReavega - 148 days ago.
Cerclage is out- 2cm dilated, 40% effaced but baby is already at +3 station- completely dropped. My ob could feel her head! Now just the waiting game!

carlos-erin - 149 days ago.
DReavega- As of right now I am scheduled to have my C-section on Oct. 11th. But my Dr. had talked about moving the date up if I continue to have contractions. Which has been the case so we will see what she says on Tuesday when I go in again.

luckysmom - 149 days ago.
I'm 5 weeks pregnant I had my first baby b4 I turned 6 months due to preclampsia via c section she lived 31 days this was in 2005 I quickly after became pregnant with my son was on bed rest for the last 6 months of the pregnancy and was put on nifedipine, he was born 13 days early but was perfectly healthy... Thank god...... So I have an appointment Tuesday and I'm wondering what will happen this time around!!! Will they give me a cerclage I realty really don't wanna b put on bedrest I gained almost 100 pounds the last time and have yet to shed the pounds

DReavega - 149 days ago.
Thank you Carlos-erin, your not to far off either! When is your csection scheduled?

carlos-erin - 150 days ago.
DReavega- Congrats!. So exciting to be this far. Just a couple of more weeks and you will get to see your little girl!

DReavega - 151 days ago.
Saw my doctor today and its official- my cerclage is coming out at noon on Monday! I'm so amazed and blessed, tomorrow is 36 weeks!

bambii249@gmail.com - 153 days ago.
Good luck ddhenry. . . I cant wait until I get to that point.

ddhenry1220 - 154 days ago.
Cerclage removal was more difficult than anticipated, it took about 30 minutes. She immediately examined me but I was closed. Hopefully by the time I go back tomorrow I'll be dilated.

bambii249@gmail.com - 155 days ago.
That is such wonderful news DR and Henry. I am just doing the bedrest after the cerclage for now. My next appt I am going to ask about the shots but I have had them before. Good luck ladys with your soon to be bundles of joy.

DReavega - 155 days ago.
I also think bedrest is important with a tvc, I was on strict bedrest from 14 weeks until I started cheating at 25 weeks with reclining and wheel chair trips out byt watched my cervix grow from 2.1 to over 5 at one point but mostly over 3.5 which was so reassuring during the danger weeks! Now here I am, 35 weeks and 2 days and having the cerclage removed on the 19th- one week from today!

ddhenry1220 - 156 days ago.
Hey ladies...I too had a second trimester lost last year. When I got pregnant in December my OB informed me that the plan would be Cerclage at 13 weeks, bedrest and P17 shots weekly. I am now 36 weeks and 3 days and I'm scheduled to have my cerclage removed tomorrow morning. Just stay positive ladies and I'm sending lots of luck your way.

Bambii249@gmail.com - 159 days ago.
Lolasmom, I totally agree with Carloserin, you need to demand bedrest. From experience, the two together will give you better results of a healthy pregnancy/baby. I just received my cerclage Wed and was on bedrest 3 wks before it. I have went to another doctor and not the prestigious hospital with the doc who initially recommended something that was successful, with one pregnancy, and with another pregnancy 3 yrs later changes treatment. Make sure you go to a doctor that listens and who is attentive to your needs and concerns.

I'm new here and wanted to share my story. This is my 8th pregnancy and I have one surviving child. My first child was born at 6 1/2 months. No one at that time knew I had an incompetent cervix, nor did it occur to anyone when I had a stillborn son at 7mnths. Neither child lived. Next I got an abortion, needless to say, I was hurt, young, and thought it was impossible for me to have kids. My next doc diagnosed me with an IC and I was placed with a cerclage and strict bedrest. My son survived! 4-yrs-old today. So later I get pregnant but the pregnancy is an ectopic one. My body absorbed the baby so there was no surgery. The next pregnancy (2010) I had a miscarriage, 5-6 days after a cerclage was placed. :-( I got pregnant again at the end of 2010 and the doc who put me on bedrest and gave me a cerclage was no longer wanting to put me on bed rest # confused# if the method worked the first time, with it being the only method that gave me a healthy baby, why would you be against bedrest? Needless to say, a delayed cerclage and no bedrest resulted in another miscarriage

carlos-erin - 159 days ago.
Lolasmom-I would be asking my Dr. to put me on bed rest plus have them start applying for disability benefits. Most patients that have the vaginal cerclage are on bed rest. I would not want to take any chances. What is your cervix measuring at now?

Lolasmom - 160 days ago.
Hi carloserin- I am not on bed rest but I am taking it easy for the next 4 weeks (until I return to work).

carlos-erin - 160 days ago.
Lolasmom- So sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully this cerclage will be the answer to your prayers. Did the Dr. put you on bed rest? Please keep us updated on how you are doing . There are a lot of women on here that have had a cerclage placed and carried to term so you can do it too!

Lolasmom - 160 days ago.
Hi ladies. I'm new here. I lost my daughter on March 31, 2011 at 20 weeks gestation when my waters broke unexpectedly. I was devastated. My ob suggested that I get a cerclage placed during my next pregnancy. So here I am 14 weeks and I had my cerclage placed today. My ob said that I was already dialated 2cm. I am so confused with all this. I just hope that I will be bringing my baby home this time.

precious03 - 160 days ago.
That is such wonderful news Jessa. I am so happy for you and the precious little girl of yours. Thank you so much for sharing. So I guess even with these contractions I can still carry possibly to full term. That is awesome. Please keep me updated and let me know how things progress with you. As for me, I see the dr agan on Friday, I assume they will check my cervix just to make sure that it is remaining closed. I feel a lot of tightening and back pain but I try not to get alarmed without seeing any blood or water. I just worry that my water will break and I need to have an emergency c-section and it won't be able to be done at this small hospital here. They said they are not equipped for premies at her age and after 4 the drs go home and an emergency c-section might not be obtainable which puts the baby and I at risk if I would have to delivery vaginally. Kinda scary. Anyway, so nice to hear from you. Like I said keep me posted. Hope your feeling well.

jessa521 - 162 days ago.
precious....it has been very quiet on here :) With my last pregnancy, I started having a lot of contractions at 29 weeks, the hospital was able to stop them, and I ultimately delivered at 35 weeks. With this pregnancy, I was in the hospital nearly 3 weeks ago for contractions; I was told I was 2cm dilated, 50% effaced, and the baby was at station -1, so given my history, I would likely deliver in the next few days. Here I am 3 weeks later and 36 weeks and still pregnant. This is the most pregnant I've ever been. It is almost uncanny to have the fear of having a preemie out of my mind, as that is all I've ever known. I received my last Progesterone injection last Friday. The nurse said that she thinks the P17 really is working this time and once the hormone is out of my body in 7-10 days, I'll likely deliver very quickly. I'm now 3cm dilated and over 50% effaced, so the doctor said if I think I'm in labor, I better get to the hospital quickly as she suspects I'll progress very fast. So exciting. I cannot wait to meet my little girl.

What happened to all you mommies on here?????????? I hope everyone is doing well. Went to the hospital yesterday due to some dark blood that showed when I wiped. Turned out that I am still closed-so not too sure what or where the blood came from but I am happy. However, the surprising thing was that I was contracting and had to receive several different types of shots along with steroids for the baby's lung maturity just in case the contractions didn't stop. Today went in for the second/final steroid shot. I guess this brings me some relief to know that there is that added assistance should she br born soon. I really was just taken away by what all happened when I didn't even feel any contractions at all. The pressure is something that I have been used to since my cervix has been almost completely depleted from around 18 weeks. I was curious if anyone of you had to have your contractions stopped and from that point was it soon that you delivered. I know each of us all respond to things differently but just having a feel of what others have gone thru help to some degree. Again, I miss hearing from all of you..I hope all are doing well.

Thanx ladies for all the encouraging words and stories. I had my surgery as planned on Thursday (yesterday) and I am glad to say that we are doing fine. I was a little nervous but my doctor and nurses were the best and comforting me. I had the spinal which numbed me in no time from the waist down and the procedure was over before i knew it had even began. I did not feel a thing and the only thing was the medicine sort made me nauseous, that on top of not eating from the night before. But overall everything went great. I had said a lil prayer before and during and even when i got home. I am now on bed/pelvic rest and taking it easy. It has been 24hrs and me and baby are still doing good, thank GOD. Oh, i forgot to mention that we listened to the baby's hb before the surgery and after and he/she has a strong hb it was 161bpm. I am so happy that everything is going well and I will continue to pray that God will see me thru this and bless me with a healthy baby on my due date of Feb.21,2012..... Also, i start my shots when i go for my follow up appt. in another week in a half. Thanks again everyone, and congrats to all the new mommy's
