I was diagnosed after 2 long tears with PCOS. One doctor put me on Metformin which made me throw up non stop. Every single night I was puking my guts up. It was a nightmare. Then I went to a fertility expert who had me undergo every single test imaginable. We learned it's hereditary (my mom never told me she had PCOS) and turns out I was a chlomid baby. It also turns out my doctor put me on 50 mg of Chlomid and it worked. It's not easy and many women can't handle the side-effects but be strong and stay positve. With the chlomid I ovulated and became pregnant, I am now 4w. Don't lose faith. Just make sure you have a great doctor and they monitor you regularly.

Denise-congrats with your baby ;). but tell me about it. Ive been off of the pill since Oct, and nothing. had two false positives, earlier this month which suks. I decided to put it on hold until later this year and lose weight first..so we'll see how that goes..lol

guys, im another who jsut wants to give you all hope. me and dh tried for 10 years to get pregnant we were treated terribly by the nhs pushed from pilar to post got as far as clomid but nothing further and noone interested it seemed. i took part in metformin trials, well tried to b ut ther efused as said i was insulin resistant and gp would prescribe metformin anyway gp said i was barely resistant my sugar lvels werent a worry and he refused to prescribe.i was young and...well i know bter now! anyway we gave up 10 years ago. we moved to the country. was found to be ype 2 diabetic and prescribed metformin.adopted 2 beautiful children and last march went to gp with what i thought was irritabl bowl syndrome and depression...turned out i was 20 weeks pregnant! apart from a little sickness i had a perfect pregncy my diabetes more or less corrected itself till the last 3 months when i had to inject insulin but i now have a beauiful, perfect 6month old baby girl.....so dont give up hope..i had and look what happened!!! i hope this helps...but btw i am now desperate for baby number 2 (child number 4!) have only been trying 2 monthws bt its amazing how quick the obsession takes over again!

dree2010 - 410 days ago.
Hi ladies..this morning I took a hpt and got a faint positive, using the longs drugs brand. I don't kno when I'm suppose to be expecting my period, since they are very irregular from the pcos. However, I mark down when my fiance and are intimate and just count back 4 wks..and assume its accurate. Anywho, we had sex on dec 7th, so I figure if I'm prego, that's when we conceived..is that right? Can anyone help me on this pls...I'm really confused...thanks:)

Happy New Year to all May next year bring your happiness and may all your dreams come true.

Well about 2 months ago I FINALLY got diagnosed with PCOS and dr started me on Metformin. Before starting the Metformin I had been bleeding for over a month straight and about 3 or 4 days of the meds it stopped. The next month I had a hysteroscopy and D& C done. My lining was very thick which is what was causing me to have excessive bleeding and LARGE clots. Wells is been 5 weeks now and I haven't started a cycle yet. Any idea whats normal for after a procedure like that as far as the next cycle goes? I know its prolly different for everyone just wondering if anyone knew anything about it? Thanks

toomanyyrs - 425 days ago.
em2 & ouqa & dom Thank you ladies for your input. I am not brave but more scared. I have been on this emotional rollercoaster for 20 yrs now. I have yet to get a pos test. I spoke with my Dr.s and they both agree that my levels may be to low to read right away if I ever become preg. So I am looking forward to Tues in some deg. I want to know but not sure if I am not if I can take another sorry yet again. I broke down did a hpt and it was bfn, however even the instruction inside said that if you suffer from irreg cycles or have cysts it could give you a false reading. My body is doing stuff I have never noticed before. I don't know why AF did not show if I am not. Like I have said AF is like clock work when taking meds to bring it on. My Dr told me not to take the clomid if I do not get AF. One thing he did say when he did the internal ultra sound was that it was looking good not too many cysts. There is nothing else that would stop it from happening. He did a full exam when I first went to him. So it was just a matter of getting me to ovulate. After the first lot of clomid my levels were 1. The second lot I was put up to 2x clomid and my levels were 2.5. So without knowing what my levels were before the clomid it is hard to say if my 2.5 is everyone elses norm level what ever that may be. I do remember some years back one of my levels came back in the neg. Funny thing is that when I was 15 and first finding out what was going on a Dr. did some tests on me. When he got the results back he said according to this you have gone through medopause (sp?). So we did the test again and that time it indicated I was dead. LOL I thought that was the funniest thing and looked at him and said well I am doing great for a dead person lol. So that to me says that I can't go by levels like others and that if I am it may not be so easy tell right away. Trust me when I say I am not normal lol.

ougaouga - 426 days ago.
Toomany - I have PCOS and tested postive at 12 days past ovulation. I took Clomid so I pretty much knew when I had ovulated and when to test. You should def get a positive now. I think someone not testing postive until their three months would be rare - even for someone with PCOS. I really hope you get your hristmas wish this year!!! Good luck!

em2 stewarts wife - 426 days ago.
Toomany, I was 10DPO when I got my BFP with this pregnancy. You are brave... I would have been peeing on everything in my house by this point LMAO... good luck!

dominique23 - 428 days ago.
tomany- you could take one, but if you are going to the doc on tue not to far away. if you were about 7 weeks it most likly would show up on hpt, unless you are the rare that dont, which is possible with pcos too. good luck i hope its +.

toomanyyrs - 428 days ago.
Dom, it was less than 2 1/2 weeks when the blood test and internal ultra sound were done from the last day of 'scheduled' sex. It will be 7 weeks tomorrow from that date. I want to try a hpt however, with me being at the far end with PCOS not sure if it would be woth it for me to even buy one.

dominique23 - 428 days ago.
toomanyyrs- I was about 3 and half weeks tested positive with a hpt.

dominique23 - 428 days ago.

toomanyyrs - 428 days ago.
EM2 and Dree thank you for your input. I had tested back on Nov 15 and the blood work came back less than 5. I was not told what the actual number was. However since my levels are much lower than most to me that could have been high for me. I have never had an issue yet with missing AF when on any med. I now that some with PCOS take hpt and it is neg until they are 3 months or more. So I have not wanted to spend the money on it for that reason. I do see my family Dr. Tues Dec 21 and will have him do a blood test then. I hope that Santa has brought me my bundle of joy at last. How far along should you be before you test with PCOS?

DREE2010 - 428 days ago.
toomany-it could be prego...however, while I was on the provera, there were times where I didnt get my period either, and I was clearly not prego....Good luk, hopes its a baby for you:)

em2 stewarts wife - 428 days ago.
toomany.. have you tested? This happened to my friend who is now 36 weeks!took the provera and never got AF back....

toomanyyrs - 431 days ago.
Need input please. I have been taking provera to bring on my periods and like clock work withing a few days after I finish I get it. Then I take clomid to bring on ovulation. Last month I went to the Dr. and he did an internal ultra sound and said the lining is med and if I don't get my period this month to call his office. We also did a blood test that came back neg. So I started my provera again plus this month I started to take metformin also. It has been 5 - 6 days now since I last took the provera and no period. Not indication of symptoms either. Could this be from the metformin? Could it be that when I saw my Dr. I was preg but just to early to tell? Has anyone else had this happen? I am not sure what to think. Please help if you can. Thanks! P.S. I have been having a discharge at least once a day everyday.

synthiaw - 432 days ago.
hey girls, just looking for some help. i have been sick the past few days with i believe is just the flu. headache, sore throut, runny nose all that stuff but for the past two days when i get up the first thing i do is vomit. could this be a sign of early pregnancy or do you think its just the flu, i have never vomited with the flu before and its only the once in the morning that i have for two days. help.

MovingForward - 434 days ago.
Hi ladies, I also have PCOS (my mom does too). I have gotten pregnant 3 times now. My first pg was very healthy until I got very sick and miscarried at 18 weeks. My 2nd pg resulted in a healthy and beautiful baby boy. He is 2 now. I took the metformin throughout my pregnancy and never had GD. I am pregnant again and have been taking my metformin religiously. I have never had any problems with my period, but I do have the hair growth, the weight issues, horrible skin issues and my hormones are out of whack when I'm not on the metformin. I can't take birth control because I developed blod clots in my lungs from them several years ago (a little-known and unlikely side-effect of b/c). I wish you all the best!

toomanyyrs - 434 days ago.
Well I have been taking metformin for a while now and took my 10 days worth of privera and no period. It normally starts within a few days after my last dose of meds. I would know that it is starting because of cramps and so on. So far no indication that it is going to start. I may be speaking to soon who knows. However, my dr said if I do not get one this time around I have to go back and see him to see why. I wondered if when I had the internal ultra sound and he said the lining was med thickness if it may have been to early to tell. I am not sure what to think at this point. Any ideas?

synthiaw - 435 days ago.
