EvieE - 615 days ago.
I'm seventeen weeks pregnant now, but I spotted for the first ten weeks of pregnancy. Once I bled enough to soak a maxi pad which led to a trip to the emergency room. Baby was fine. I guess some of us women just spot and its not really an abnormal thing.

We've been trying for our first baby since November 2009 and I've been off the pil from August. Last month I were 1 day late - normally I am never late. I started having light pink spotting that stopped quite quickly. For the rest of the day there were nothing. Very late that evening, I started getting a very bad sharp pain on my left side and also felt like I needed to go to the toilet. Sitting on the toilet, I saw dark red blood & clots almost black in colour dripping out of me. I have never before been in such pain as that evening. The next 2 days were light bleeding - like when your period is almost over. Day 3 everything was gone. My normal periods are 4-5 days. I don't know what happened. Was it only a late period? a very early miscarriage? or spotting that I am actually pregnant? I often feel nauseas in the mornings because of low blood pressure, so can not go on these symptoms. Although I often felt very tired the last few weeks. I am too scared to do a pregnancy test to face the facts. So I decided to wait till my next period date to see what happened, this will be middle of next week. I did make an appointment with my gynaecologist, but could only get an appointment in 3 months’ time. Any advice?

Two days ago, I started with brown spotting. I was getting a sharp pain on the left side of my abdomen. I called the Dr. They told me that my u/s two weeks ago was fine. I was 7wks at that appt. They also told me if I started getting bleeding that was worse than a normal period and unbearable cramps, to come in. What is normal? I never had that.My period were always light with minimal cramps. So I figured, if I wasn't hunched over in pain, then I was fine. The next day the bleeding got dark red.I started cramping a lot with only a few minutes between pain. I only went through 1 pad when the clotting started. It still wasn't a lot of blood. Then, I went to pee and saw thick tissue. I called my husband to the bathroom ( an RN) and he said it was the fetus. The cramping stopped and I still had very little bleeding on a pad. We went to the ER. I had blood work, u/s and a pelvic exam. The u/s revealed there was no sign of a preganacy. The Dr. said my uterus was closing and that I shouldn't bleed too much. So, in my case, I didn't have a lot of bleeding but right before the miscarriage, I had a lot of cramping. It seems everyone responds differently. Go to your Dr. as soon as you feel their is concern. I am not going to let this stop us from trying again.

I was 6 weeks and didn't know I was pregnant. I thought I got my period cause I was bleeding RED blood. That week I found out I was pregnant (sore breasts) and after that I still experience some brown light bleeding from time to time. Since I was 13 I had low progesterone preventing me from ovulating so it was a surprise that I was pregnant! (yay) but now I'm scared I might have a miscarriage because of it. =[

tarogers - 653 days ago.
richyricha , I had this same issue last year with my 5 month old daughter. It was brown and I was scared to death, thought I as having a mc. Well, My Dr done several ultrasounds and told me that it was a bruise on my uterus. It could have been caused by the embryo implanting. As long as it is old blood and nothing red then you should be fine.

My husband and our 8 year old daughter were there as well - and boy was it exciting!! This week I experienced a bit of discharge that was more brown in colour. Is this normal? I'm abit nervous as it's been a while since my last child. All comments welcome.

Hey girls I'm so stressed and scared.. I'm 10 weeks 1day today.. It has been 12 days since I'm having brown spotting.. I have been to ER on the second day of spotting and everything looked fine on u/s and other tests.. I saw the baby and it's strong heartbeat, and so I was stress free until yesterday.. My doctor said not to have sex for two weeks but I could only resist it for 8-9 days and forced my hubby to do it.. Now it has been two days since this discharge has increased and looks red mixed brown.. I am so scared.. I don't know any reason for this spotting.. I know it might have increased because of sex but at the start we haven't had sex 3 days before it started..So what actually could be the cause of spotting when everything looked fine on u/s And one more thing if you do bleed after sex, when does it stop.. I mean does it last only a few hours or it may last a few days?

Im 5 weeks 5 days Pregnant, I woke started Spotting it was pink almost not notice able... 30 minutes later it looked as it was going away turned watery and clear well an hour goes by it turns to be a bright red. I only bleed when i sit on the toliet. i have passed two clots, i had a miner cramps for 2 hours but now the cramps are gone I have not even filled a whole pad in the last 14 hours. the bleeding has slowed down a bit? so I am hoping to find out the best. I am trying to stay strong if the worse is occuring but has anyone gone through this?

babyhelton - 727 days ago.
I started spotting at 10 weeks pregnant, and continued to spot until almost 12 weeks, when I figured out it was simply a YEAST INFECTION!! The spotting was light, but sometimes bright red, so it was very scary.

STLCHULITA - 734 days ago.
Hey all! I haven't wrote in awhile but i wanted to update everyone and maybe help others at the same time. I posted about over 50 days ago because i was spotting and my levels were low. Well...i am now 12 weeks and not only have my levels went up but i also have heard and seen my jellybean's heartbeat! The spotting continued until 8wks and i was diagnosed with a subchoronic bleed which explained all the spotting i was having and still having. You can have an healthy pregnancy and spot. I've spotted red blood also but it's all in monitoring the spotting and your body. Always call your doc though because i know i probably got on mine nerves lol

5 weeks prego and had a light pinkish discharge only a little is tht normal?

momtobe - 739 days ago.
I'm hoping someone may have had a similar experience or some input for me. During the month of January I my period was about 2 weeks late. It lasted from January 28 until about January 31. Usually when I first get it, the flow is very light and gradually gets heavier. This time though, it was so heavy I didn't even have a chance to get to the bathroom. As gross as this sounds, I felt/saw a clump of blood fall into the toilet. Before getting my period I had felt nauseous and slightly lightheaded, back pains, and just not feeling well. About 2 days after the bleeding stopped I was lightheaded, nauseous(almost vomited), in a cold sweat, blood pressure dropped very low, and passed out. I actually passed out twice that day. The next couple days I felt dizzy and nauseous and sleepy and just not right. When I had taken pregnancy tests around the time of my missed period, they came back negative, but I know they aren't always 100% accurate. I went to my doctor because of the way I had been feeling and he gave me a list of things that could be wrong, one of them being a miscarriage. Because of the negative pregnancy tests I said no, definitely not. But after thinking about it, a miscarriage doesn't seem too far fetched. Does this seem like a miscarriage? If so, is there anything I should do medical wise? Thank you for any help!

I'm with mandy there, I hoping that i am pregnant, but yesterday i started to bleed abit, first it was red and laterr on when went to toilet,it was like brownish in colour. First i was disappointed thinkin it was AF, but since hardly bled much it could be possible implanttion bleed. But when went to toilet earlier this morning, I noticed I still bled bitduring the night, same brownish colour, but when checked toilet, i also bled there and looked like AF. my cycle has been playing up and I had a feeling it might come on this weekend.. So i don;t know whats what.. I also been feeling nauceous and off my food in the past week, like pregnancy symptoms and bbs slightly tender today.. I just hope i still am possibly pregnant, I be testing around 10/2

Sorry, Pateem, I can't say that I personally relate, but I do know that some women bleed bright red in their pregnancies and everything is fine. I'm having an issue right now with brown blood, but nothing resembling fresh blood. Anyway, I wish you the best for you, your baby, and your family!

Hello ladies, I am 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I had a scare yesterday, I was quietly reading a book on the couch and then I decided I need to pee, and on my way to the restroom I thought I was peeing. I was thinking wow am I having leakage. I peed and found i was dripping bright red blood. I freaked out and asked my husband to take me to the ER. They did an exam, some labs and an ultrasound and the baby appeared to be doing well. They couldn't tell me the cause, but there is always a chance of miscarriage. It is so scary especially when I had a missed miscarriage back in Sept 09. I really hope it all goes away and the baby and me are okay. Have any of you experienced this?

jsuriel - 776 days ago.

Hi all, well i went in for my scan today after two long weeks of bleeding - dark brown, red, tissues, light brown then dark brown again with red blood. I was almost sure i miscarried, i gave up hope and was just waiting for confirmation and wanted to know if there were any other complications! My GYN turned to me and said, No you haven't miscarried, i thought i was hearing things, i was like sorry? She repeated herself - you haven't miscarried, you are still pregnant - have a look for yourself - and there it was a little heartbeat in a blurry sac. I'm 6 weeks and 5days pregnant! The bleeding is caused by a small choriodecidual haematoma. I was advised that the bleeding would coninue as there were remains of the blood in my uterus that will clean out but will not (hopefully) effect the pregnancy. Aparently it is quite common to bleed in early pregnancy - light brown, dark brown red etc, but its about how much you are bleeding. I was almost sure I miscarried because I was bleeding like a heavy period. STLCHULITA it is too early to locate pregnancy at your stage, as i was told when i went in for my scan at 4w4ds. And pink blood and light brown blood usually means implantation bleeding so I wouldn't worry too much, just rest and don't do anything too straneous. Good Luck - you are in my prayers. XXX Baby dust to all!

Hey ladies and gents! I just found out i was pregnant friday and was assumed to be 4 weeks based off my last cycle. My next cycle was supposed to start sun. I took the test fri/sat morning. I've been light cramping all week no blood.. Well until last night. I had some light pink blood. Not red.. No clots. I freaked! Lol. I went to the ER and they did an ultrasound and didn't see a baby.. The blood was still light. They then diagnosed me with a 'threatened miscarriage'. I cried a lot. I'm not sure if i am still with child. The spotting stopped about.. 4 hrs after i noticed it while there and my hcg level is at 100%. I am so scared of losing my baby; im going back in tomorrow... Since the spotting has stopped am i okay? Should i worry? I go back to the doc tomorrow for another blood test to see where my level is at. I don't believe i am 4 weeks but i don't know when ovulate either. Any help or words of encouragement would help me get through till tomorrow.
