Ugh the last thing I need is for any more fat to go to my butt or thighs I was telling DH yesterday before I was PG w/ DS I had a big butt and nvr imagined it would get bigger and it did I said is my butt gonna grow again lmao I do not want that to happen anymore lol. It's funny how pregnancy works I've had my appetite under control for a while...now that I'm pregnant again I have to stop myself from sitting and eating an entire bag of baked lays lol ugh but I'm soooo hungry

lissie - 35 days ago.
i rememeber learning in my womens health class that we store a little extra fat on our thighs butt when prego naturally. This is to provide us the calories it takes to bf. So I think it's only natural to put a little weight on to this area. When we are doing what's beast by chosing foods low in sugar and fat and by exercising try not to worry. I was gaining too much and my doc said to cut my portion size down by 15%. I didn't listen and gained too much but the idea was good. I'm still working off the last 15 pounds. GOod luck to you all!

bananabum - 41 days ago.
Mama that's wonderful news! I've always been 230-250 and got to 165-170 before the pregnancy with healthy diet and a very active lifestyle which I grew to love (not to mention my new body!) And I'm 5'9'. I'm pushing 200lbs now and I think its more mental than anything but my thighs and hips have taken the hit the hardest. I guess it shows more this time around because I started out thinner. I know I'll lose it after, just always wanted that nice preggo belly to wear with a bikini without all the extra lumps and hangy stuff :( oh well, all that matters is baby's strong as ever! And I've gotten back to a very healthy diet so hopefully that slows the gaining for the next 3 months!

mama2LT - 42 days ago.
So I'm a bit on the tall side I'm almost 5'7 and my pre pregnancy weight I was 195 pounds which is a lot but I looked GOOD lol with my son who is almost a yr in 2 wks I gained almost 50 and got up to almost 250 :O I lost 30 pounds in less than 2wks thnx to bfeeding but it stopped there and I had been stuck at 229 for a while....about a month ago I got serious about my health and I've lost 17 pounds so I'm 212 I haven't got much to go im so excited

rrbabygurl@yahoo.com - 42 days ago.
I had dr appointment yesterday and I'm already up 30 lbs. Gained 10 lbs in a month. I'm 2 days away from starting week 30. My weight is on my thighs and butt. My thighs look nasty. This is my 5 th pregnancy and with my last I gained 28 lbs. With the other 3 pregnancies ive gained from 35-48 lbs. And its hard dropping that weight even though I workout, breast feed, and watch what I've eaten. I do end up loosing the weight but takes about 8 months. I carry only 34-36 weeks. And if I only have 4-6 weeks to go I hope not to gain more than 5 more lbs. I'm going to continue my walking but going to watch more closely what I eat. Exchanging sweets with yogurt. And lighter dinner. No seconds. Nothing drastic. I know those oreos and going out to eat more didn't help. Lol

bananabum - 43 days ago.
Hey ladies, I need help. This is my second. I was quite overweight before and after my first baby. I had lost 70 lbs pre 2nd pregnancy with a VERY healthy lifestyle and by running 5km per day and a rigid weight training program twice a week. (which I LOVE) I know it sounds silly but I had to give up working out when I became pregnant because I lack the self control to 'tone it down' and was worried I'd overdo it. I also started eating whatever I felt like which hasn't worked out well. My BMI was perfect when I started and I actually looked a little thin, so I welcomed the first 5-8lbs, but now I'm up to 30 and just about to start my 3rd trimester. I wouldn't care about the number if my thighs, saddlebags and bum weren't so gross, and we're going to Jamaica in a month. I just wanted to show off a huge pregnant belly in a modest bikini! So I've gone back to a gallon of water each day, cutting out salt and processed sugars, and eating only fresh foods. I'm going to try and walk 3-5km per day to control this gaining. Do I sound vain? Am I being ridiculous? I know I can lose it again pp, I just am so disappointed I've let my beautiful preggo body become not so beautiful :(

ended up at 75kg, 10kg / 22 lbs total preggy gain, AMAZING and I couldn’t have done it without you!! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. I taught up to 6 days prior to my due date and felt great for it, I continued to walk for a few more days also. I am down 7kg from the day I had him at 75kg, 68kg, so sitting just 3kg above my pre-pregnancy weight of 65kg!!!!! Everyone is saying I look very well, no puffiness, skin is great etc. it's all thanks to the following: Finally - A Holistic Fitness And Nutrition Guide For The Pre-natal Population! Click Here!

lissie - 119 days ago.
I gained too much weight and it is a battle to get if off as quickly as I wanted. It is coming off so that is really what matters, I guess. Now I have 18 more pounds to lose. Much better than where I started. I want more children and want to stay in shape next time. I want to BE in shape next time. And I HOPE I won't be on bedrest again!

lissie - 156 days ago.
//rbarr123// I hope everythign is alright. I was just goign to post that I have now lost 30 pounds and it is almost 6 months later. Still have 20 till pre prego weight and 25 till dream weight.

barbiesydor - 177 days ago.
My cousin recently told me about the program at http://savingmorethanbefore.com At her recommendation I signed up for their sampler program and I have to share the amazing results with everyone. Using this program last night for the first time, my husband and I had an overflowing cart of groceries and non food general items. In all it rang up to $538.16 but thanks to this program we only paid $ 32.88! We weren't the only ones shocked, the cashier's mouth dropped. It is literally about paying pennies on the dollar for everything!

Im only 12 weeks and Ive gained about 10lbs, I look like I'm 6 months pregnant. I very scared that something may be wrong with this pregnancy.

lissie - 211 days ago.
It's been a month and I've started to lose weight again. It's slow but happy I'm losing. I lost 3-4 pounds and have run 8X this past month. I supposed to run 12X but busy, ill, out of town, no one to watch my 3 little ones etc etc. I'm still working at it. I wish I didn't gain so much but nothing I can do but lose it now, right? -25 till I'm satisfied and -30 would be a dream come true!

For anyone considering running to lose weight either to reach a healthier weight before TTC, or post-partum, I recommend it 100%. When I was pregnant with my DD, I gained 65 pounds and went from being a super healthy, competitive runner (5'4 and 126) to overweight, and unable to wear any of my clothes 6 weeks pp. I lost 27 pounds during that 6 weeks, which was shockingly disappointing since I'd convinced myself that at least 15-20 pounds of the weight HAD to be water (wrong), and my size 4-6 figure was suddenly a 14. I began running again at 6 weeks pp, and over the course of 9 months managed to get my weight down to 136... which was 10 lbs shy of my pre-pregnancy weight, but still healthy and I was running great again. With my second pregnancy, I actually continued to run for 35 weeks (which was ok because I had more than 10 years of competitive long distance running), and gained 34 pounds. I lost all of it by continuing running starting 4 weeks pp, over the course of only 5 months. Nine months and five months might seem like a long time, but it was worth it, way worth it. Running releases endorphines which make you feel good, and the process of losing weight and trying on clothes in smaller sizes is exciting too! It can be a slow process, so you have to be patient, and have to incorporate some diet modifications, too. That doesn't necessarily mean restricting everything 'bad', but learning to use it as a 'treat' rather than a normal part of your regular eating habits. After a while, I found that I preferred healthy food to junk food... which probably sounds crazy. So... if you're considering running... DO IT. If you need support, message me. I helped my husband lose nearly 30 pounds by running, and he recently ran a half marathon in 2:00:32, which isn't bad for someone who previously wasn't even able to run a mile without being out of breath. You can do it. :-)

lissie - 247 days ago.
My running partner and I are meeting at 5:30 tomorrow to begin the postpartum weight loss plan! I'm nervous and excited! It's been impossible to motivate myself to go!

lissie - 252 days ago.
So I gained of the 49 pounds I gained I have only lost 20ish. I haven't lost weight in 6 weeks now... since I wasn't quite at my goal weight either when I conceived I have about at least 30 to lose and it would be nice to lose 35. I am starting the running program next week b/c I found a running partner :) I need the support system right now to just get started. Good luck to all of you. Hope you can have a more ideal weight gain and healthy pregnancies!

lissie - 265 days ago.
Thank you :) I also just found out yesterday that my doctor thinks that being overweight is even worse for me than the high impact things like eliptical and even eventually maybe jogging! ( He said do what it takes to lose the weight. I have severe prolapse and also a moderate of the bladder :( But he thinks if i lose 30+ pounds that it will help :) I am going to start Monday since I have clearance to do so! I'll probably report how I'm doing here just to keep myself accountable. GOod luck to the rest of you :)

adoptakalyn - 276 days ago.
lissie: the thing about losing weight is to burn fat you have to keep your heart rate at about 65% of the max. What this means is that a brisk walk, bicycle ride, elliptical, etc. are actually the cardio exercises that help you lose the weight. As for lifting weights, this isn't necessary if you can still do resistance training. Try doing some balance ball exercises or yoga. I hope this helps!

lissie - 284 days ago.
It's been 7.5 weeks and I still have 29 pounds to lose :( I haven't been losing for a couple of weeks...to get to my actual goal weight not just ppw I'd have to lose 34 pounds! I can't run or do high impact exercises...or lift weights :(((( I'm really really bummed

preggyartist - 310 days ago.
I was just looking at paper work from WIC, they consider anything under a bmi of 20 to be underweight for becoming pregnant. This site considers 18.5 to be normal- for my height that is a difference of 12 lbs!!!! A BMI of 18.5 is an average weight for a woman NOT trying to conceive.

preggyartist - 311 days ago.
I'm not going by this chart either, it put me in a body mass index of 20 which is normal, but my OB/GYN told me that at 5'9' and 137 lbs I was considered to be around 5 pounds under weight, and they recommended gaining those five pounds in addition to the 25-35 for a healthy pregnancy.

francois@health2u.co.za - 361 days ago.
Weight issues is different from person to person. My wife gained 5kg more than the 'normal' range. After our baby was born, she lost that without to much difficulty. She went from 64kg to 86kg to 62kg. Her focus was to give the developing baby the nutrients she needs and not on the scale. She did this by eating a balanced meal whenever she could and supplementing with good quality food supplements. To AuroraGrace - Congrats with the pregnancy! I would worry to much if I were you. Just try to give your baby the nutrients she needs and stay active. Lose the pregnancy weight after your baby is born.

AuroraGrace - 361 days ago.
I'm only 6 weeks pregnant and I already feel that I've gained too much weight. Mostly in my stomach and hips. It is noticeable, maybe between 5-10 pounds. Is this normal to gain so early and this much?

Shannon1991 - 373 days ago.
well if i am pregnant, I think i am but the HPT came back negative, then my weight gain is correct i should have only gained 2 pounds haha! and i have. I am going to try another HPT next week. because my period came a week early actually it was the spotting so i am goin to take the HPT when i have missed my period!

marilynnyc - 374 days ago.
I'm on week 31 and gained 45lbs so far and I know more is to come. Should I be worried, which I already am. I'm so scared that I won't be able to drop the weight.
