Thank you for sharing! I could not have done it without my Bosom Twin Nursing pillow. It should be said that some nursing pillows are not big enough for two babies (especially when they are not newborns). I got mine at Stuff4Multiples and to this day till use it!
Great article... also, if you CAN'T breastfeed do not get down on yourself. It's hard with one- twice a hard with two. There is always the alternative... pumping and bottle feeding.

Hi ya girls
Thanks for sharing your stories it gives me the confidence that I can breastfeed my twins even though I have 3.5 yr and 2 yr old already. I dont have any real help my family lives 8 hours away and my friends all work and have their own kids, but really want to give BF a try, i did it with the other two for 11 and 13 months.
Thanks

Hi Everyone. My twin girls are 6 weeks old and I have been successfully breastfeeding them. Yay! My only problem is that I have so much milk! When I have them both on at the same time, my milk squirts out so fast that they can't latch on well, and are choking on it. Also causing them to gulp lots of air, Does anyone else have this problem? This happeded with my first as well (he's 2.5 now), but was a lot easier to deal with it when it was only one baby. Will my breasts settle down? Any suggestions on fixing the problem?

Definitely invest in an EZ to nurse twins pillow! My boys are 3 weeks old and i thought i could manage with just a bunch of regular pillows each time, but the nursing pillow really frees up your hands.

Hi all. I went into labor at 32 weeks while on bedrest from week 16 on. My twin boys were in the NICU for 6 weeks and didn't take my breast well at all until I got them home and they had no other choice. As soon as I delivered, I started pumping (both sides at the same time) every 4 hours around the clock. The NICU nurses fed them my milk by gavage (a feeding tube put in their noses and down to their stomachs) at every feed. My boys are 5 years old today and were breastfed until 29 monthe old. I was very determined that I would breast feed no matter what obstacles came our way, and there were many besides their immature sucking reflex (ongoing thrush, breast abcess, etc...) If you have the right support around you, then you have to believe you can do it. A great lactation consultant can make all the difference too. If anyone has any specific questions, please don't be shy.

Hi, I finished breast feeding my twins when they were 10 months. They were starting to get a bit stroppy pulling at each other, etc on the feeding pillow by then, Wyatt was starting to bite, and I was ready to have my boobs back. I had been topping up with formula after each feed from the start as I didn't have quite enough milk, but my boys have thrived and piled on the weight with formula and breast milk in their diet. Good luck to other mums breast feeding their twins! I am really glad that I was able to.

I'm still B/F my 13 mo twins too. Isabella nurses all the time and gets a few sips of goat milk when she's eating. Daniella nurses for naps and at nighttime. I only feed them together a couple of times a day. It's too hard to feed them together when they aren't sleepy. I'm not sure how long I will continue, but the thought of stopping breaks my heart. They call it 'nay nay' and they start asking for it when they get tired. I'm still using the EZ 2 Nurse twin pillow to feed them together.

I'm still breastfeeding my 13 month old twins. I'm trying to cut out the daytime feedings because I am returning to work in a month... but it is really hard! I'd ideally like them to be completely weaned over the next few months. Just wondering is everyone doing the football holds? I've been doing the double cradle hold the entire time and find it so much easier. Congratulations to everyone nursing two! It's well worth the struggles.

Hi ladies. I have just stopped BF after almost 10 months. Many reasons really, more a combination of all rather than just one thing... I'd quite like to have my boobs back although I loved being able to BF.... the little rascals are pulling each others hair, scratcing each other by accident and really not fitting too well on the BF pillow now when I feed them together.... it will be easier for me to give them a bottle now rather than BF, top up with bottle of formula, and then give solids (takes rather a long time!)..... AND... it will mean that I can have the option of sleeping in once in a while now that I can get Dad up to give a bottle. So as you can see, quite a list. I didn't have quite enough milk for both babies so was on pills to increase my milk, and also topping up with formula each feed. I feel quite good about the start that they have had. You can only do your best whatever you decide to do... so don't beat yourselves up whether you BF till they are 3 or give them the bottle from the start. Having twins can be exhausting and you need to look after yourself whichever way that means.

My babies are now 8 months old. We are still nursing as they totally REFUSE to take a bottle. It is getting hard because I am constantly trying to hold down 4 little hands that want to grab each others face or pull the boob out of sister's mouth. Not sure how much longer I will be able to nurse them at the same time ;o( That makes me sad because it is such a time saver...

this is funny all i see is 90 days ago comments we are busy moms huh. Well I'm nursing and bottle feeding mom. i nurse because I know the importants of it and I bottle feed because my husband works I have a 3 yr old so I cant find peacful nursing times and I have no help with my home I get sooooo tired that I dont even have the energy to feed my 3 yr old properly let alone myself. it's usually a bowl of cereal, rice and eggs or some kind of snack bar. I'm just sooooooooo tired. But I do drink alot of mother's milk tea. My twin boys are now 2 month and actually breastfeeding more and I am getting alittle more help from their dad since he's afraid I'll stop breastfeeding . Ladies if you have twins and you want to breastfeed which is really the right thing to do If you have friends and family that want to help let them HELP YOU like in cooking or cleaning it's soooo necesery allow yourself to be pampered while trying to get to know your little ones because breastfeeding takes alot of practice , energy and time. I started only breastfeeding them for the first 2weeks then I became very depressed tired anemic you name it . I dont have anyone helping me because I'm new in town no friends or neighbours established yet and my family live 6 hours away. So I try my best with my twins and my 3 yr old . I can only say WOW thank god I'm not an OCTO MOM

Hello all - I have a question for you... I am EBF the girls, they are now 5 months old... to any mom's who have been here before, when did you get AF back?
(vinessalynn: my twins were born almost 2 months early, Sept 25 and didn't even begin to TRY nursing until Nov 10th -their due date. They were 4 lbs and 4lbs 6 ozs - crazy similarities! KUDOS to you, I know personally how hard that is, but my hubby has been supportive and I am thankful for that)
