...and was addicted to the chat rooms that used to be here. Too bad 'drama' made that part of the site go away... refreshing this page gets annoying! lol - this pretty much is a chat room... just with no automatic 'live' posts. Diane-taketwo -

Hey ladies!! Well I have jumped on the trying to concieve band wagon. I have a 19 mo old son Felix, he is my little miracle, I was told I wouldnt have babies due to twisted falopian tubes and weird/no ovulation. This was when I was 13, met my now hub when I was 16 and didnt use protection with him...6yrs into our relationship I felt like I was dying, took a pregnancy test just for the sake of it, and wishful thinking (always wanted babies) and to my great shock, it was positive. Now Felix is 19mo and we would like to give him a little bro or sis, really really reaaaaaally hoping that we can fall preg again and that it doesnt take another 6yrs. But as 80% of our sex in the last 19mo has been unprotected I kinda feel like we are in it for the long haul...:(
Just thought I'd pop in and say hello, hoping to make friends with like-minded ladies, I joined this website when I was 4mo preg with my son, and I found it an absolute lifesaver throughout pregnancy. Wishing you all the best of luck, BRING ON the BFP's!!!! Baby dust all around :) :) Diane-taketwo -

Miracle - usually those who ovulate during their 'period' are not actually having a true period, they are having heavier than normal breakthrough bleeding. A period happens when the progesterone runs out from the follicle you ovulated from, usually 12 - 16 days after you ovulate. When on a true period, there is no mature follicle ready to 'pop' because the hormones that ripen the follicle are not in your system during your period. With breakthrough bleeding, that can happen when you have a lot of estrogen, then it drops quickly - that can cause bleeding and also trigger an LH surge then ovulation - all while still bleeding. If this happens in an irregular (long) cycle, lots of times the bleeding is mistaken for a period, and when you get a BFP two weeks later, it if often mistaken for getting pregnant while on your period. That said, there are some women who can get an LH surge anytime in their cycle, coupled with follicles that seem to mature at 'odd' times in the cycle - so it can in very (very) rare circumstances lead to ovulation during a true period. That is all the 'nerding out' I will do tonight, I promise. ;) [мσтнεя σƒ тωσ] -
