The days given are based on the average. Take plus or minus 3 days to be sure, also make sure you've read the following note.

Note that you are most fertile around the ovulation, the day your egg is released. This doesn't mean that you aren't fertile on other days! You can get pregnant at any day of your cycle:

Guidelines for getting pregnant -- or avoiding pregnancy -- usually assume an average woman is fertile between days 10 and 17 of her menstrual cycle. But researchers at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences have demonstrated what some accidentally pregnant women may have long suspected:

Only about 30 percent of women actually have their fertile window entirely within that timespan.

In fact, the researchers found, there is hardly a day in the menstrual cycle during which some women are not potentially fertile. Women in this study were of prime reproductive age (most between 25 and 35) when the menstrual cycles are most regular. The window of fertility should be even more unpredictable for teenagers or for women approaching menopause

mini - I think it can live up to 7 days but that's not the majority. I think 3 - 5 days is average.

hello again ladies, my partner and i have decided to start ttc again. Had the mirena taken out last week and according to my doctor, because i only had it for 3 months, trying to get my periods to become regular, that after my period i should be fertile again as i was ultra fertile before, so fingers crossed! Anyways lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!! xoxoxox

ok......soooo. 9 days dpo and im havin twinges in my uterus, ,heartburn, nausea after eating, and pretty bad fatigue. i did test this morning and it was a bfn. let the count down begin. these are the longest days ever

I am finally back in the TTC game! AF returned after 22months (9 of pregnancy and 13months of Bfeeding combined). I had some odd cramps a few weeks ago, and suspected i might be O'ing... And AF came back (only for 2 days though). Here's hoping for another spring baby next year!

i am having the weirdest tummy troubles. everythng i eat is making me want to throw up. doesnt matter what it is. one of my fave snacks is popcorn and peanut m&ms and i ate some tonight and i wanted to barf.. i almost wish i would have.

hi all i am trying for another baby and want to know what you all think. Since i have had my baby i have only had my period 3 times on the 28th day my last fell on the 27th which is really unusual for me but i always know when i ovulate and i ovulated yesterday being the 14th day of my cycle but had intercourse on sunday being the 12th day my mucas was sticky but not an overly huge amount was present. I really hope i am pregnant, I am so eager to do a test but know that it wont show up this early. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK???

angelic-YEA!!!! I am soo happy for you!! If I get pregnant we would have the same due date! But I am not testing any time soon... I did BD on CD 14 and CD16... but that was just for fun we didnt try this month.. so I have no clue when I Oed! I am sure sometime btwn CD17 and CD20.... happy 9 months!!
