Mckate, Just for inspiration...I had a TR in 2004, and was pregnant 5 months later with my daughter. I got pregnant again (surprise) in 2010, but m/c. Got pregnant again, and my son was born in Nov 2011. The only thing I can tell you about the actual surgery and recovery is to take it very easy afterwards. I had issues healing, because I'm not good at being idle. I don't think you need to worry at all about your tubes coming apart, just your incision. Be sure to ask your dr everything ahead of time. He should be willing to answer ALL of your emails before and after the surgery. Best wishes!

Hi I am a mother of two dds. I had my tubal ligation after the birth of my second child to avoid more children in my abusive marriage. Nine months later I did what I never believed I could and left him and got a restraining order. He is out of our life completely and I am now married to the sweetest man. He is such a blessing to me and the girls. We just celebrated our four year anniversary! He does not have any biological children. He is 30 and I am 27. Now I am three weeks from getting surgery and I was wondering if any of you can share tips for comfort. I am driving 10 hours to the surgery center. Also, what did you bring that you were the most greatful that you did? And what didn't you bring that you wish you had? Clearly I'm a little nervous! lol What if I don't do well? Or never get pregnant?! And lately I've been having irrational fears of getting bumped too much in the car and my tubes won't stay together.. ugh. I'm not even sure if that's a valid fear lol Anyhow, any info would be very helpful!

Hi I am a nubie here, my 1st post, so here it goes. I am 39, mom of 6 and grandma of one. I had my TL in Nov 2005 and had my TR 2/14/2011. I was pregnant within 3 months post-op on Clomid. Me and my new DH have our first son now, he is 9 1/2 months old today. We are currently ttc TR baby blessing # 2, I am on Clomid again, but dbl dose this cycle, went from 25 mg to 50 mg. I am on cd 5. Thanks for letting me share.

I got my tubes tied 6/22/2012it looked she fried the fing things could it just be the fresh surgery pics...I kinda regret it but my question is I think I am screwed on a reversal anyone else deal with this with out having to deal with IVF? I feel remorseful almost getting it done? Brit

I had my tubes tied after having my second child. I regretted it right away. Three years later I went to Chapel Hill and Dr. Berger performed a tubal ligation reversal. I got pregnant after about 6 months. I soon had a miscarriage. I tried and tried and could not get pregnant again. I later had my fertility doctor do surgery and remove scar tissue. At this time he noticed one of my tubes was closed. An earlier hsg test had shown it was open so I didn't know why it had closed. I was very upset and called Dr. Berger's office. The nurse was abrupt and I ended up going to Dr. Green in Georgia. He worked on the closed tube but it was not successful. I regret not going back to Dr. Berger. Since I've been to both, I can say without hesitation that Dr. Berger's facility was the more experienced of the two. My advice would be to go to Dr. Berger.

I should add that during ultrasound that told me that the egg was released on my left side... this is amazing to us because my left tube was never repaired because there wasn't enough of it left after the tubal ligation. I still can't believe this is happening after 4 years!

Hi Ladies, my name is Brandy and I've been on and off of this website since 2008 when I had my tubal reversal( tubes tied 1995). We tried and tried to have a baby but it just wasn't in the cards for us so after a failed IVF in late 2010, we gave up because it was tearing us up and we had so many things against us with having only 1 open tube and it's not in good condition, and premature diminished ovarian reserve. Fast forward to Oct 5, 2012 that's the day that we got our surprise of our lives, a BFP! We had an ultrasound yesterday at 5 wks and all we seen was a sac and yolk sac, and my only symptoms are slightly sore boobs, and a little more tired than usual but really nothing noticeable. I just hope and pray that when I go back in 2 wks that we see a heartbeat. :)) My girls are 21,19, and 17.... talk about starting over! LOL

I had my TL in 1995 after the birth of my youngest daughter. My daughters are now 17 & 19 yo. I had the tubal because I knew that I didn't need to bring another child into the marriage I was in. Now, at age 38, my fiancee and I would like to have a child together. He is 45. Our health insurance will not cover reversal surgery & we both work in law enforcement (cops do not make a lot of money!). Is there any help out there for people in our situation? I have seen the sites like "Blessed Arrows" but they seem like a scam, send money to be put on a list for a scholarship for surgery, etc....
