Help: Sending messages

You can add comments on almost every page of this website. You have to be logged in, only members can comment. Check if you're logged in:

If you don't see the welcome message, log in. If you still don't see it after logging in you may have to refresh your browser to get a fresh copy of the internet:

Let's add a message to the week by week guide in week 7.
Go to the week by week guide, click on week 7.

The page should look like this:

Type your comment in the box at the right and press the `Leave a message in 7 weeks pregnant` button.

After clicking the button your comment should be there right away. If it's not, refresh the page. (see above) If it's still not there check for any word (or part of a word) that may trigger our spam & bad word filter.

Notice the Edit and Delete links underneath your message. Only you can see this, because it's your own message. You can edit or delete everything you wrote later.

Sending messages on the forums works exactly the same. The comment box is always in the right column.

Help: Sending messages to other members

If you would like to send a message to a member go to her member page. In this example we are about to send a message to `test11`
On test11's page is a comment box in the right column. We have two options here:

A normal message can be read by anyone who visits test11's page. If we pick a private message, it can only be seen by test11. Let's give it a try by sending both a private and a normal message. This is what Test11 will see on her page:

Note that Test11 can delete your messages, and make your normal messages private. Private message show up between the normal messages, but are in italic print and read `private`.
This is what others see when vsiting Test11's page:

Note that the private message is not there.

Help: Sending a message to more than one person

You can send a message to anyone in your friendsnetwork. To do this:
- Go to your own profile.
- Choose for `type of message`: Send to everyone in my friendsnetwork
- Write your message and send it.

Help: Rude language

If you use a word from our rude word filter in your message, it will automatically change into a private message so no-one but the receiver has to read it. Is the message really rude, the reciver can report the message to the admin. Usually this results in deletion of the account. Do not reply to rude messages, spam or requests for money bank accounts etc. Just report the sender. We usually take care of it within a day.

Help: Sending photos with your message

You are allowed to use HTML code in your messages. Be careful though, it's easy to mess someones page up by typing the wrong code. Only use HTML if you know what you are doing.

Example 1: colored text

In the first example we'll send a message in yellow to Test11. Type this in the comment box:

Typing <font color=yellow>Hello Test11!</font> will make your message yellow. It will look like this:

There are many more html commands, for example for font family, size, underlinement, font weight, etc. Ask someone who knows html to show you what else you can do. Remember that it's not your own page, some may not like it at all when you add messy messages to their highly organised pages.

Example 2: adding a picture

We've made a glitter text on sparklee.com/ (See Help: profile)
The url we got from sparklee is http://img110.mytextgraphics.com/sparklee/2008/04/19/2f8c22cade193f957d5d7f2c8f3f749f.gif
To add this picture to a message we type:
<img src=http://img110.mytextgraphics.com/sparklee/2008/04/19/2f8c22cade193f957d5d7f2c8f3f749f.gif>
Like this:

If click on the `Add comment` button it will show

Most HTML code is allowed, including codes for videos and scripts. Good luck!
