I need some advice. One of my nipples is damaged and i’ve been applying lanolin, airing it when possible, even tried a nipple shield…but nothing seems to be working. How long should I wait before seeking help? My son in 16 days old so i know it’s still early days but I’m really not enjoying the pain I get while feeding. I’m wondering if he’d…[Read more]

I tried giving my baby a paci, he basically gaged on it and then did a massive spew…my daughter had one at 1 week no worries, but my son prefers to use my boob instead…I might try again later….although saying that my daughter is almost 18 months and very attatched to hers…we have to give her two at night *sigh*

He seems like he’s really gassy during the night…like just before he wakes up he will fart for a good half hour and he never has dirty nappies during the night only wet…so im wondering if he’s getting a tummy pain…i also think he uses me to go to sleep. I still have a damaged nipple which isnt really helping my patients with feeding. I’m not…[Read more]

Noah – I have the same problem sometimes, I found lying down on my back and putting him on my stomach helps since the milk isn’t pouring into his mouth.

nawww such a wonderful moment! I remember feeling like it wasnt real, like she wasn’t mine! And even the fact she had a name seemed so strange. I cant wait to meet my next baby! So much more exciting this time round, I know what to expect and I’m almost impatient!

It’s only painful on the initial latch and a few sucks but then it’s pain free, I guess it’s the anticipation of that first latch. I have a home visit from a midwife on Wednesday so I’ll ask then. I’m thinking it may be infected or something which is stopping the healing. I keep it moist with lanolin which completely healed my other nipple.…[Read more]

Hi ladies, I am currently 15 weeks pregnant with my second child and I am really keen to breastfeed for as long as possible as I only lasted 4 months with my daughter (mainly pumping). My daughter will be 16 months when this baby is born so Im wondering what you do to entertain your little one while you are breastfeeding. And also what things you…[Read more]

Any tips for entertaining a toddler while feeding a newborn? My DD is 17 months and so far she has been looked after during the day either by childcare or family just to help me out. But I miss her and would prefer her to be with me but she can get really cranky when she isn’t getting enough attention. She’s not a book girl and has a pretty short…[Read more]

Ugh I’m so frustraited! My son fusses at every feed. He goes on, he comes off and cries, I’ve tried lying down to see if that helps but it doesn’t. I’m just so sick of feeding for almost 2 hours!! By the time he falls asleep it’s like 1 hour and he’s awake again. I just don’t know what to do….I would like to speak to a LC but I don’t know where…[Read more]

Sorry if this sounds rude- but i hate been made to feel guilty about not breastfeeding and i hate that people say that breastfed babies are smater and dont get sick because they are breastfed. Can’t there be some sorta organsation that maybe supports woman who do not breastfeed because it just didnt work for them or they have medical problems. At…[Read more]

When does your breastmilk start to settle a bit? My son is 6 weeks on Friday and my milk still gushes out at every feed! It soaks him and me (even when I put a wrap under me) Its just a bit annoying since I feel embarrassed if I feed in public and I have to try catch it before it gets everyhere. It also makes feeding difficult and I find I have to…[Read more]
