It goes well with most surnames and middle names - it's actually quite versatile

Well, people never spell it right! I'm Clair (no 'e') and it is rarely spelt correctly. Also I find it's incredibly common in my age group and kind of dull!

Well, I know that Lydia, Louise, Leah and Karen were all possibilities so I'm kind of thankful I'm Clair!

Claire is certainly a versatile name but cannot really be shortened. Nicknames seem to be lengthened into Claire Bear or Clairy Fairy! Remember that when naming your child!

Wasn't very popular when I was young, I used to be called Clairebear by my friends!

my husband loves this name... but our children ALL think it sounds like an over-weight person...

I love this name and so does my husband. We picked this name because it can be pronounced easily internatinaly, and we are an international couple (american/dutch). I liked it because it sounds classy, refined and delicate. Very girl. We also picked out this name because we think Claire bear is a really cute nick name!
