The best thing about the name Holly:
It allows me to get away with using Holiday Themed dishes all year round with Holly on them. A lot of people like to to call me Holly Berry or Berry which is a neat nick name I think. Also, when I was born, Holly Hobbie was popular so I had my bedroom done in Holly Hobbie, and it was Holly but not Holiday Themed.
The worst thing about the name:
Not a lot. Sometimes misshear it and think my name is Polly (which is actually my Grandmothers name). Also not a lot of things personalized with Holly on it when I was a kid.
If my name wasn`t Holly....:
Well my mom said she was thinking of naming me Sara instead of Holly, but when you are born on New Years Day, you almost have to have a name that goes with the season when you are born on such a significant day.
Extra information:
I don't know a lot of other people named Holly. So It is usually unique amoung friends. I remeber 1 year in school there was a Holly in my grade, but I don't remember any other time in school in my grade.

I think this name is better suited for baby girls who are December babies. I am not a December baby and honestly in 23 years still continue to stress that I am not named Holli because I am festive, just bc my mom and aunt loved the name!

It is quite sweet; it makes me think of xmas and puppies!! its quite a simple yet strong name, and you can never get it wrong!!

the absolutely awful nicknames. I've been called everything - holes, hooly, holy, hol, you name it. Its also quite a boring name, nothing much to it, especially with a surname like smith or something. the meaning of holly kind of lets the name down

most people write my name with an ie on the end instead of y, and it doesn't bother me but my mum doesn't like that.

Goes with my middle (Jane which was named after my gdma). Easy for others to say or spell, a lot of people like it. People say all the time it goes well with my personality (caring, shy but sweet and enjoy to be around).

Don't think it's elegante or strong. Seems very plain and little. Don't like the meaning.

People love to make fun all (Holly Jolly) the time with my name, but learned to like it. Not too many people have it and I'm glade to have it as my own.

People make fun of me and still do call me Hollywood, because my last name initial is W. I suggest not to name her if the last name is W.

I've never really known any other Holly's, uncommon name. Also, I get many compliments and I think it is a pretty name to grow old with.
