Mandy I absolutely LOVE this name! I think it is sooo pretty for a little girl!! teri I named my daughter Romy and at the time nobody I knew had that name and nobody seemed to have heard of it. Since then an acquaintance has suggested the name to their son who was having a baby girl and wanted a name that was different, so someone has already name their child after my daughter, much to my annoyance. it now seems to be a popular name with celebrities. Mick Hucknall has given the name Romy to his daughter. I had heard of the German actress Romy Schneider and have always like it. The is an English actress called Romy Baskerville who seems to represent the slightly middle-class air of people who have that name, and so seven years after the birth of my precious daughter there name seems to be lots of people who know a Romy or used to know a Romy. It's rather bizarre now as I wanted to avoid giving my child a name that was commom, it's becoming more and more popular!
