i am mexican, and my parents heritage is spanish. My dad's side of the family comes from the vasque country. amaya is a vasque name wich originally is written with an i instead of y because in vasque the y doesnt exist. amaia is the right name, and it means the beginning of the end. in spanich it is a surname as well.
