I agree with the other Dawns who've said people spelling it 'don' out of ignorance or laziness, we are ladies not blokes!!!

My mum also had the name 'April' in mind but seeing i was born in april that would have been cruel lol! I like Dawn sooo much better

My parents other option was Atlantis (obviously I was born in the hippie-era of the 70's). Quite pleased with Dawn!!

And don't name boys the same name as their father! That's a credit bureau nightmare waiting to happen!!

It could have been worse, my parents were hippies and named me after the time of day I was born, sunrise/dawn. If I were born at night, my name may have ended up being Star!

If someone doesn't know me, they instantly assume I am a man and spell my name DON. That actually happens even when someone does know me come to think of it. I always get my name spelled DON.

Lots of things. Misspelling of it makes me angry especially since I am a Virgo. I hate having to correct people constantly.
