Inamed my dog jaantje. I googled and wanted to find something that meant gift from God. She came to us in a supernatural way. We were on the front porch and she came straight up the walk we're on a corner lot,and she turned into our walkway and laid at the top step of our enclosed porch. Whenever a car,bicyclist,van etc would go by,she would run and bark to the perimeter of our property and come right back to the step.I gave her every opportunity to leave. I called the dog warden to see if anyone reported her missing. I checked the newspaper for a lost dog. Nothing reported about her,so we kept her. She immediately took to me and accepted me as her master out of the 3 of us. Gentle as a lamb.I did however have a muzzle on her when I gave her her first bath and hair cut. She was in really bad shape. But I really do believe that she is a gift from God. I pronounce her name jon-tee. The hebrew way. Not with the Y sound. (Yon) its a ver beautiful femmine name. I wish I would have named my daughter that had I known the beauty of the meaning and pronunciation of the word. The spelling JAANTJE is even beautiful and unique. I'm glad it's not being used often. That's what makes it unique after all
