My friend gave birth last week at 30 weeks. He was 2.5 pounds and 16 inches and is now off the ventilator. When would be a good time to give her a shower? Should we wait for the baby to get home?
I’d wait till after the baby was home. She’ll have a lot going on right now.
I had a premie, i’d say the best time would be when he is stable and getting close to coming home
I vote for before he gets to come home…reasons 1.) maybe on a monitor, strict feeding times 2.) not comfortible with leaving baby once he comes home 3.) may not want to take the baby out & be around lots of people…they told me once I brought my son home from the NICU to avoid the public don’t want to subject baby to sickness 4.) it just might be easier to have every thing as ready as she can before baby comes home one less thing to worry about….
thats a tricky one i know you may want to suprise her but i think i would ask her which she would prefer
I agree with charlihadleypreggo3 100%, I couldn’t have said it better myself. If it were me that’s what I would want my friends to do:)
I would wait till you know baby is stable but before she brings home!!!!
i would wait until the baby came home n do a baby shower for both of them.I had a preemie with my first child i went full term n my baby was 3 pounds n 13 oz so i know how she feels.Tell her congrats.
I just did one for a friend that had her baby at 25 weeks!!! Very premmie baby…I asked her boyfriend when would be a good time, he told me a week before baby goes home, that way she doesn’t feel bad that baby is in the hospital, but excited he is coming home soon. When baby comes home she will be very busy and baby needs to be in safe environment. I put pictures of baby on the big Plasma TV and she sat in front of the TV. As if baby was there with her the whole time..She was soo happy opening presents. Next week she gets to take baby home.. It was a surprise for her, but with the help of her man it came out great!!
