Born & Birth stories

Your baby's blood circulation is completely functional. The umbilical cord system continues to grow and thicken as blood travels with considerable force through the body to nurture the baby. The placenta is now almost equal in size to the baby.

Your baby will be getting much larger during the second half of your pregnancy. Your baby's crown-to-rump length at this time is 7.2 inches and she weighs approximately 10.5 ounces. Your growing baby is about the size of a large banana. You should be able to feel your uterus about a half of an inch above your navel. Your weight gain so far will be around 10 to 15 pounds.

As your baby begins to lay down more fat, your weight will also increase. During the next 10 weeks, you will gain about half of the total gain for your entire pregnancy. Strangers can now tell that you are pregnant! You might notice an increase in appetite because you need 500 more calories a day to support your charged up metabolism. It is best to avoid processed foods or foods high in fat, calories or sugar. Some women also get strong cravings for foods. If you notice a craving for something unhealthy, you should contact your doctor. Craving for unusual things is known as pica. Some women crave cigarette ashes, charcoal, beer and other non-food items during this time.

Your baby's different organs and systems are maturing. The fetal digestive system is functioning in a simple way and your baby can swallow amniotic fluid. After your baby swallows the amniotic fluid, she is able to absorb water and sugars from the fluid and then the waste is passed as far as the large bowel. Your baby swallows the amniotic fluid in order to prepare itself for life outside of the womb. Some babies consume as much as 17 ounces of amniotic fluid in a 24-hour period. Your baby already has a high number of red blood cells and the white blood cells are beginning to be produced. Taste buds are being formed on your baby's tongue this week also.

Don't be surprised if your legs and feet become swollen throughout the day. You should try to get off of your feet some throughout the day and prop your legs up. If you notice a substantial amount of swelling, you should contact your healthcare provider for evaluation.

going to jump on the partner band wagon. my bf has been amazing lately. i am studying which means i havent really left my desk in months. He has picked up all the extra slack with house stuff, cooking, helping heaps with my daughter etc. So grateful. But now he isnt working and is like a caged up bear. He is bored around the house which eventually culminated in him deciding we have too much stuff. when he explains this to me though it comes across somehow that i have to much shit. So now he wants to throw everything away. We have a blazing row because i dont understand why he cannot wait a week until my studies are finished and then i can do it. This then turns into a slanging match about how pissed he is about my studies. Yeah because this is sooooooo much fun for me as well sweetheart! seriously! then this evening i have a go at his son for sucking back snot into the back of his throat despite me being on his case to blow his nose for ever! I tell him that at 18 months my toddler has the sense to come to me to wipe her nose when she has snot running down it, but at 9 yrs old he cant even reach over and get a tissue. bf then has a go at me for 'comparing our daughter to his son'. Seriously!!! how can you compare an 18 month old to a 9 yr old???? I was saying to him that a little baby can do something he cant do and perhaps he could grow up and learn to blow his nose. Of course his son hears his dad having a go at me right after i said something and even though it was in english and his son doesnt speak english, his son would have still known what was up. I am fuming and dont even want to look in that direction!!! I am hormonal and dont have the patience for this shit. I am going to drink a glass of milk and eat chocolate alone in my room and watch Bones.

Kano I just lost it too...I still suffer from ms and sometimes its all day sickness. My hb seems to think that im just lazy (despite the fact that I am hunched over a toilet after I eat or drink anything!) I find that my all day sickness has luckily been on the weekends but that means that I don't get much done. So he finally had the balls to say that he is the only one who cleans up around here! EXCUSE ME! Just because he decided to work on the front lawn last weekend and now this weekend cut some trees in the backyard he suddenly thinks that he does it all!! I told him to go F himself (and I never say those kind of things to him.) I do all the regular house cleaning (bathrooms, bedrooms, floors, etc) and he just 'picks up' things around the house. Well that is not my idea of cleaning...if u aren't using cleaning products then u aren't cleaning! I am soo pissed...

Thank you Peachy! I'll check it out tomorrow. :)

I notice a lot of mommys having the 'Omg I'm having (another) baby!!!' moment! To out your hearts at easy, this is VERY normal at this stage of the pregnancy. Your belly is full, baby is moving and it all seems so real and scary at times. This is exactly how you should feel at this moment! I remember with my 1st I completely melted down and called an emergency hotline. The lady I spoke to was wonderful and reassured me that my fears were normal and health. And to just repeat what everyone has already said, babies don't need much! Luckily we are all having summer babies so clothes won't be a problem, breast milk is FREE and BEST, and other than a LOT of love and pacients ...babies don't need much more than that! We are all going to be wonderful mommies!!!

kanojoca - 5.7 hours ago
He is usually GREAT, and soo hands on, but he gets into these 'spaces' where he zones out and gets lazy and doesn't do anything, and i've had it up to here HERE i say with it.

kanojoca - 5.7 hours ago
i've snapped. i've officially LOST IT. I'm packing, i'm cleaning, i'm making dinner, i'm looking after Georgie, I'm moving s&*( that I shouldn't, and Hubby has been home all week 'working' on computer stuff upstairs, do you think he could make dinner one night. Nope. Do you think he could offer to help, Nope. do you think he would learn after one pregnancy to say yes dear ok dear, nope. Then he goes out gets home late, I tell him to pick up a glider chair I found on kijiji, he comes home with it it F in STINKS of smoke, umm couldn't you smell it, it's for me and a new baby..we don't smoke. I LOST IT. I calld him all the names in the book, my friend took G for me today, and i'm leaving the house or i'm going to kill him. I was up crying all night last night, i've been crying all week for that matter, and if I don't leave now i'm going to seriouly make him sterile for the rest of his F in life. Girls i'm going to go the movies by myself, if not i might be a single mom come 8pm on sunday night

a KEEEEEEEEEPER!! Or one for the memory book!

kanojoca - 21.3 hours ago
It's 8:56pm on saturday night, and 6mths ago I'd be in the bag right now, and for those who drink you know what I mean, the 1.5 litre bottle of red I'd bought would probably be half gone, i'd be oh half way through a niee cheese and biscuits plate, with gorgeous curlies and makeup and a cute little number one, music and friends of course. INSTEAD, I'm wearing a bra that is too small for my helicopter nipples, I have lemon water sitting next to me, M&M's cooling in the fridge, my hair is greasy and just minging, hubby is out having fun with his mates, oh and my bum hurts and im pretty sure I have piles or hemmoroids from this week's constipation. Let's mark this day as a KEEPER!

kanojoca - 21.6 hours ago
Leesa, that is all I've heard!! That was why I wanted to c sect too, the labour was so long and so painful, I felt everything for 3 days, I don't know if I could do that again! But the recovery of a scheduled one is supposed to be SO MUCH better cause you don't have to go through labour!

LeesaM - 23.1 hours ago
My Dr wont let me try for a vbac even if I wanted to. If I had the option I don't think I would want one anyways. I had such a horrible labor last time and that made my recovery worse. The girl in the bed next to me had a scheduled csection and she was all chipper and happy...me on the otherhand, I was exhausted and had a crying baby to tend to!

melissa0513 - 23.6 hours ago
@natasha. positive thoughts. try not to worry easier said then done i know trust me. they told us that our baby girl has EIF echo genetic focus the white spot in her heart. we saw a specialist and had a more indetail sono done and they didnt see anything else. the doctor told me things like this are very common. im sure it will all work out :) so i know i normally dont post much on the weekends but.. im being a moody sour pants. still havent felt her move and getting irriated because of it. we have a appointment tuesday. i always feel myself getting irritated before an appointment because i fret something may be wrong. im so retarded..

kanojoca - 1 days ago
And yeah lady..I didn't know that! I just was going to go for a VBAC, but then when they talked to me about my option, it was nice they made it clear that they would be with me the for the whole journey!! I still might change my mind closer to the day...if they would induce me before my due date than I would go for a VBAC if not then i'll have to go for the section, so i have the help afterward.

kanojoca - 1 days ago
Peachy I think that's great!! I really wanted to try for a VBAC, like really did, but things for me never come easy, it's taking me years to accept that, and the first labour was SOOO long, I really think this one will be the same!!!!!

kanojoca - 1 days ago
ha ha Leesa! I've had the same experience with people who are just as far as long as I am and I look huge compared to them!!! It's so amazing how each of our bodies grow and change differently. I love that i've had a proper basketball bump since week 8, but I don't love that my legs get fat and my body just gains weight so easily, so I only look adorable pregnant for half of the pregnancy than just waddling blob for the other half!!!!

peachydelight - 1 days ago
kanojo - i am going for a VBAC this time and my midwife has said there is no problem with that. Even though the first birth was scary with the whole umbilical cord problem, i feel like i missed out on things with my daughter. i was out on anesthetic, which always effects me more i reckon than other people, so whilst my bf was with my daughter in the first few hrs of her life, i was shaking under a thermal blanket with my eyes rolling into the back of my head (apparently normal)!! when i came to, i was still pretty out of it, so i could only be with her for a little while to breastfeed and then i was out again. i want to be able to enjoy those first few hrs with this little guy. I also want VBAC because as much as my bf says he wont be working, his work is really unreliable and if a job comes up, he cannot say no. I cannot imagine being at home alone most of the day with a newborn, a 2yr old, my 9 yr old stepson AND a c section healing up! My mom says that they will probably have gone on their summer holidays (they live in a boat and have 3 months holidays every year). They probably leave in the beginning of june and reckon they will be close so that she can fly over to help out. A scheduled c section would be good as i could also then tell her when to come over. As it is, the minute i go into labour with this little guy, we have to make a plan of who we can leave my 2 yr old with whilst we are in hospital as i dont know when my mom will come over. My in laws are 100km away and we arent talking to them, so we cant count on their help. My bf wants to be in the hospital with me during labour and the obligatory 2/3 days after that, but we dont want to leave my little one with friends for long at all, we love having her with us all the time. All in all, not ideal!

ladyone (pink) - 1 days ago
Wow kano, thats nice,,, i wish i knew that because i wouldve taken a midwife as well... I live in ontario also... My sis had a midwife and she had a horrible experience so i never given it much thought,,, plus i always thought if you have a midwife and decide to have an epi or c section she just falls out of the picture and you dont deal with them at all...thats what happened with my sis anyways

LeesaM - 1 days ago
Kano I know u can relate to this one because you too have been showing for awhile...yesterday we went to our favorite restaurant where we know all the staff and the owners. Last week we noticed that the manager had a little belly so I told my hb that she looks like she might be prego. Well last night her belly looked a little bigger so I told my mom that she looks like she could be prego. I didn't know if the manager heard that I was pregnant or not, so I told her when I was leaving. After I told her she said 'me too!' So of course she asks when im due. When she tells me she's due june 4th she looks down at my belly and of course it looks huge compared to hers! I think my belly looked like that 2 months ago! When i tell her she has a cute little belly she says 'I gained 60 lbs with my son so im happy I've only gained 10lbs so far.' I barely had a belly at this stage with my daughter, but for some reason my belly is bigger this time around. It just made me feel like crap.

Welcome Natasha. Like Kano said there are alot of ladies on here who have had scares and everything has come out fine. Hang in there. Xx

kanojoca - 1 days ago
Natasha, you should be able to get blood tests down with out seeing a specialist no?? and teacher is right, you need to do whatever you need to do to connect with you baby, look after your body and try really hard to keep positive. I know how hard it is, I too keep wondering if our baby has spinabifida or something wrong with the spine, but i'm trying really hard to keep busy and remind myself that what is going to be is going to be and there is nothign we can do about. stay strong lady! xx

kanojoca - 1 days ago
@lady - I only just decided last week that I'm going to have a section, before I was going to go for a VBAC, but with the grands coming over and them having to book their tickets in order to get a BIG discount, I needed to decide. PLUS the big bonus about having a midwife is, A- I still go and see an OB, who will be the one delivering the baby, B- the midwives are still there during the birth of the baby and after care. So after I have the baby they come every day for the first week, then once a week for 6 wks. It's great, they weight the baby, measure the baby, and check on the baby and look after me. If I went with a Dr alone I wouldn't have that.

natasha666 - 1 days ago
kanoj - i havent gotten any of those test as of yet . they are just going by my 2o weeks scan . we only just found out yesterday about the results and my doctor said the specialist would call within a week . the downfall when living in atlantic canada is it can take forever to get into a specialist. so all i can do is worry in the mean time. to top all this off im anemic and my blood levels keep droping and im taking so much iron its unreal. it makes me wonder if any of my problems are effecting our little girl .

teacherandmom - 1 days ago
Natasha- I'm 27 and live in California. We went for our 19 week ultrasound on Jan. 25th and were also told that our baby had CPC (cyst on the brain) and EIF (something to do with the heart). Since I didn't do/didn't want any of the testing done, they couldn't compare my blood results to my ultrasound results. I ended up doing a second trimester blood screening to check the odds of downs syndrome and three other conditions. My results came back low risk for everything (downs syndrome being the highest odds at 1 in 6,000). Specialist here told me babies can be born with these things and perfectly healthy thriving babies. Often times they will just disappear by 26 weeks. I want to say everything's going to be okay, but I also know that doesn't help. Do what you need to to connect with your body and baby for answers. (I went to see a pyschic.) :). You're not alone in this. Please keep us updated. (I've.also been following this site for several weeks. I had to sign up and respond to your post.)

ladyone (pink) - 1 days ago
Kanojoca... Iam surprised you went with a midwife instead of an OB since you will be having a c section...

kanojoca - 1 days ago
This is a great week (even thoguh some of us are in wk 22), and you will find a lot of support from all the ladies here, I feel like i've known some of them for years..and I can't believe i found my sista from another mista on here too!) so you are in good hands, vent. cry, moan, bi*&^ whatever!

kanojoca - 1 days ago
Welcome Natasha :) I'm sorry you are going through some stress. A lot of mommies on here have been through something or the other with testing, or markers coming back for downs, one baby is annemic and mommy has to keep going back to the hospital. My last scan the Dr said they couldn't see the spine properly so i'm going back for a 2nd scan, we can all say don't worry but that doesn't help at all. All I can say is technology isn't accurate and half the time they aren't right. Did you have the blood work done? and the nuclear scan behind the neck?? did they come up low risk??? When are you going back for more testing??

kanojoca - 1 days ago
@Peachy - that is scary!!! Wow I thought my labour was bad!!! Are you trying for VBAC this time or going for the c section?? I just decided last week that I'm going to go for a scheduled section. It was a tough decision, but we are on our own here, and Kevan's parents needed to book their flight over from Scotland now to get a good deal, and I just figured I can't be over due 10 days, then in labour for 4 days then in the hospital for a week, only to end in a section and then his parents have come and gone and i'm left at home with a toddler and a new baby after major surgery. At least now I can plan for a friend to watch G, kevan can book a week off work (where ever he is working) we can have the baby then his parents arrive a week later to help me. I'm kind of relieved but I did kind of want to try for a VBAC........but the stress of not having anyone here to help me and finding places for G was too much.

natasha666 - 1 days ago
hello ladies , i have never posted on here but have been following all your stories since about week 9 . im 29 from canada and this will be our second child . we had an ultrasound done on jan 27 and i just got the results back yesterday and my doc said there is a grey area around our little girls heart and that there is also a cyst in her brain. these are soft markers for downs so now we are waiting on a call from a specialist to get a second look . have any of you ladies been told this after your 20 week scans or in past pregnacies ? i feel really stressed as you can imagine and i just wondered if this has happened to anyone here . Thanks for you time girls :)

ladyone - it is for the glucose test. i have mine in the begining of march. You have to go in, they take blood and then give you the sugary drink. you hang around for an hour and then they take your blood again. I think it is to make sure your blood sugar is fine and i guess to make sure you dont have gestational diabetes.

ladyone (pink) - 2 days ago
So this sugary stuff you guys drink at 28 weeks, i never had to do that with my first ? So this is news to me

LeesaM - 2 days ago
Thank you ladies for your advice and words of encouragement. You all put me back in check! ;) Im really surprised at how my belly just popped out. Its starting to feel heavy like im carrying bricks in there (or maybe its just because I keep gaining weight!) Lol I have finally busted out the scale so I can start keeping track of my own weight gain. Hopefully it wont get out of control if I continue to monitor it.

Luv2 i feel ya on at work and not motivated to do work i need to be doing. I forgot to mention that and you reminded me but yes since we didn't find out the sex with our first we have enough newborn and 0-3months neutral clothing and all the big items i registered the first time were neutral so we can use it for baby number 2,..i was thinking ahead back then. Okay so 28wks for you ladies i'll keep a check on how it goes for the Gestational diabetes check and i'm here to chat if anyone is told they have gestational diabetes,..i promise it's not the end of the world! Susieq i agree a drawer could be used and they love playing with things they aren't supposed to. Forget a teether just give them a rubbber spatula! lol

susieq2582 - 2 days ago
Just want to add that babies sure don't 'need' much at all. My son got tons of stuff that we never used. I have given lots away to new moms that might use those items, but the truth is babies like to be held. When my son wasn't being held, he liked to sit in his carseat (had to have for the car) or bouncy seat ($19/new)...not the expensive swing we received as a gift, or the expensive pack and play we received as a gift. Once my son was older and could play with toys, he always preferred boxes, kitchen utensils/bowls, and items in my purse over toys made for kids. My mom always told me that you don't even need a crib...they can go a long time in a drawer with a blanket in it that you keep on the floor. We almost had to use that way because we couldn't afford furniture when my son was born. My in-laws gave us my husband's crib from when he was a baby, and we plan to use that for this baby too.

melissa0513 - 2 days ago
@luv; i feel your pain lol i dont feel like doing anything at work today either. 28 is a big week i guess for us too since its the sugary drink and we get another sono to see if the echo genetic focus is still there. i have so much cleaning at home i need to try and get done today and tomorrow. we are going to go and do our registry sunday.. :)

luv2bamama - 2 days ago
Babycorrea; I’m bored at work (ok, I have a TON of stuff to do, I’m lacking the motivation) so I’ll be on here all day! I think we do the sugary drink at week 28; which will be a big week for me; another RhoGAM shot, sugary drink and another u/s to see if the placenta moved away from the cervix. We are reusing most of our stuff from the first kiddo too—in fact, since we didn’t find out gender with the first baby, we have plenty of neutral newborn stuff to last us until month 3. I’m all about the second hand stuff!

babycorrea12(team blue) - 2 days ago
Hey ladies! So yeah week 22 that i'm in is WEAK! Nothing going on over there at ALL! Tania-aww thanks hun. Mandisue OMG you had a 10lb 30z baby (vaginal)? That is a huge baby you win the biggest baby question i asked a few weeks ago. My little brother was 10lbs90z and the talk of the hospital and we had to return all his newborn stuff cause he couldn't fit any of it not even diapers the nurses had to go out and buy more diapers for him! lol Leesa i'm sorry to hear you are feeling blue and the ladies are right you don't need much. I have a 2 family income and i still buy things used. I'm looking on craigslist as i type for a toddler bed for my DD and a double stroller for when the baby comes. We are using pretty much the same big items from my daughter (since it will only be 3 yrs old) and i wasn't going to do a shower but since i'm having a boy i guess i'm having one. I was going to just have a Diaper party where all your friends/guest bring different sized diapers. Maybe your MIL will surprise you and throw you a shower (if she did i bet that would make you mom feel bad she didn't do it). I hope it all works out for you and i'm sure it will babies don't need as much as people think they do. Glad everything is okay Kano! Okay so i have a few questions,..anyone else high risk? well again i'm type 2 diabetic (with controlled diabetes with oral meds) and i have a Fetal Echo appt with the high risk doc on Mon where there will look at the heart in depth (i'm happy i get to see the baby once a month) and then i have a fetal growth development appt with them around 28wks (March). When will you ladies have to do the gestational diabetes testing,..where you drink the nasty sugary drink,,is that around 24wks? I can't remember seeing that i don't have to take it since i'm already diabetic to begin with.

luv2bamama - 2 days ago
FINALLY feeling this little person move around! It makes me not want to work until June! Given the semi truck that parked itself in my midsection over the past few days, I guess he/she is finally strong enough to punch beyond my pesky placenta!

luv2bamama - 2 days ago
Mandisue; how exciting to be having another little one especially after being told it wasn’t possible! You’ll get through this. My husband’s aunt and uncle had a “surprise baby” when she was 44 and he was almost 50. I told them it is the gift from God they didn’t know they wanted, and now little Calli has completed their family. @ Amanda; great positive story! We need to hear more from people who were raised on love, not of “stuff”. You really learn to respect your parents, and value hard work. Finances will always be in the back of our heads, but you find a way to work through it. You cancel cable/internet/cell phones/netflix etc. You lean to eat out less, cook at home, walk not drive, whatever it takes. We freaked out about our first and picking up a $500/month daycare bill, and now we don’t know what we were doing with that money in the first place? We were a little concerned about now having 2 kids in daycare, but again, we know it will work out in the end. One of the things I did to keep our expenses down was use cloth diapers. Sure it was an investment up front, but now I have them for this second baby too! My water/gas bill hardly went up having to do the laundry. Also, nurse as long as possible; formula is remarkably expensive! My friend gave us a stroller, and quite frankly, it just took up space in our garage. I used a second hand baby bjorn for all our outings until she was big enough for the umbrella stroller (which you can pick up second hand for like $10). Friends, family, churches, co-workers etc. will all step up to help when the time comes. As long as we have love in your hearts and put our little ones first, the rest will fall into place.

kanojoca - 2 days ago
SUCCESS. Ok i finally got through the my actual midwife. She apologized for the student's rudeness. She said that everything with the baby looked great, heart, head limbs stomach etc, and all the tech report said was that they couldn't adaquately get a proper measurement of the spine due to the way the baby was lying. The she said that as for my placenta, it isn't close to my cervix, it is behind, but the tech didnt' measure the distance from placenta to cervix. All in all she said that she is 99% sure everything is fine, it is just the way society is now and they have to be exact with everything, she also said that she doesn't understand why the tech measure the distance or tell me to move to get the baby to move. So my scan is booked for next Friday at 2:30 and they can get me the results that day. URGH A WEEK. But I guess that is better than waiting 3 weeks. Time to keep busy pack pack pack!!!!

kanojoca - 2 days ago
and my rant for the day, is the midwife never called me back yesterday. I. am. not. impressed with their blatant lack of respect for a pregnant women in their field of work. I'd complain but i have no idea who to complain to.

kanojoca - 2 days ago
Oh Leesa, your fears are completely justified and normal!! But as some of the ladies here mentioned a lot of us are in the same boat! We have no family here, my mom isn't helping me out with anything, no shower, no gifts. I don't work, and my hubby just got a part time job, and we have been living off our savings, BUT babies DO NOT NEED ALOT! Go on craigslist make a post that your going to be a new mom and financially are struggling and your looking for the following items for cheap, you will get lots of help. Most important thing is a car seat, and a bassinet, you can get a 2nd hand buggy for like 20 bucks these days, or use a baby wrap. That's what I'm doing. We can't afford to buy a double buggy, so i'm just wrapping the baby around me, so G can sit in. As for clothes you need some pjs and throw up bibs and blankets, that's it. In the beginning all the STUFF society says you need is a load of Hogwash. It's just consumerism at it's best, and can stress you out beyond belief, so chiil out! You will be fine!!!!!! You can even make your own baby wipes from paper towels, we did, and it saved us a fortune!!!

Peachy ~ You know I have struggled with my mom since the beginning of this pregnancy. She is quite selfish, and im not really surprised by her baby shower comment. She may change her mind later on and actually do it, but not without making faces when it comes to his family. I just try to accept her for how she is, but dang she's hard to be around sometimes. The crazy thing is if we set aside her dislike for my hb and his family we have a great time together. Too bad she just can't get over it...it would make things a lot easier for me!

LeesaM - 2 days ago
Mandi ~ I think you pointed out one of the things that's is freaking me out...the cost of all these baby items! Its been 9 years since I have had to buy this stuff, so not only do I have to start from scratch but I can't remember it being this expensive. I know I will find a way, but im just scared of the struggle. I have battled with these thoughts and feelings from the beginning, but they are starting to stress me out as our due dates get closer.

leesa - i am so sorry that you feel so blue. Sorry if i am speaking out of turn here, but your mom isnt quite giving you the support that you need right now. i dont know what is going on with our parents, but in my opinion there is a little selfishness occuring. To not want to thrown YOU a baby shower because SHE doesnt want to see you hb's side of the family is selfish. This is about you and not her. As for money, i understand what you mean! i am not working, my bf is not working and we are pretty much living off money we have saved that we need to pay to the goverment for taxes. it is scary to think how things will be regarding finances, but i also truely believe that eveything will work out. Amanda was right, babies dont need a bunch of new stuff, they need love. there are ways to save money, discount days, sales, 2nd hand items. Perhaps you could see if there are any mommy groups out there and meet with them not just for support but also for any hand me downs. i have a mommy group here and we are always passing on clothing. 4 months may seem like no time at all, but there is plenty of time to get what you need, just keep your beady eye open for a bargain. i think sometimes the boys dont get how we are feeling because even though they are the daddies, we have these little guys in out bellies and feel 100% responsible for doing the absolute best for them. And you will, just have a little more faith that everything will work out for you. There is a saying here in Spain 'Donde comen dos, comen tres' which means basically where two people can eat, three people can eat. xxx

Hey Ladies I just wanted to say that these little babies will find their place in your world- I can understand the stress of money but in reality these children don't 'need' a lot. They don't 'need' a stroller especially a brand new stroller- It's going to work out and you are going to have a great family- Although I don't have the same situation I can say that my mom struggled to raise me. She worked for minimum wage and was a single parents with no help from my father at all- She shopped at 2nd hand stores for herself and gave me anything I needed- She gave me so much love and she is my bestfriend! On the plus side as she got older money did find its way to her and life did become easier- Short term pain is long term gain- Set a plan and enjoy this baby- I didn't have a 600 dollar stroller and I turned out just fine- Good luck! Keep your chin up. The baby will recognize your sacrifice and will appreciate the mother you are. Wipe your tears and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!!! There is a beautiful baby who loves you more then anything you could ever purchase!

leesa- i dont want to say i know how you feel but in a way i do. We live in a 2 br apartment and we pay over 830 a month in rent. that is one whole paycheck of mine. we didnt save or ever expect we would have another ....hell we were told that we could not have any more by 3 specialists and my husbands oncologist said after his radiation he would probably be sterile. we just gave up last year and accepted that we could only have one....2 weeks later i found out i am pregnant....I have a 10 year old with Aspergers and a family history on my side with genetic issues with boys....and I am having another boy. i just used my tax return to buy my stroller, my mom is getting my crib and we just bought furniture and paid half of it off and financed the rest. we have a mattress on the floor with no box springs or frame but bought one becuase it is getting hard to get up and down. i look at stuff and go OMG i dont remember it being so much 10 years ago. back then i only had 1 baby shower and that was at church and hardly anyone showed up. this go around i have a ton of friends and i know i am having 2 or 3 showers.....and a ton of support. i have started shopping consignment shops and go on dollar days...babies dont need brand new everything for clothes because they grow so fast. my son Isaac was 10lbs 3 oz and nothing fit him.....this baby is much different..he is active and kicks constantly.....i just dont think he will be as big as Isaac....but i have no clue! i freak when i buy sizes! ok, now i went off topic (i tend to do that). keep your head up....
