Your baby's crown-to-rump length is about 8.8 inches. Weight has increased to around 1.5 pounds and fat is still being deposited at a high rate. Babies come in all shapes and sizes, so your baby could vary slightly from these `average` measurements. Your uterus has grown quite a bit bigger this week. The top of your uterus is between your bellybutton and your sternum. Your uterus is about the size of a soccer ball now!
If your baby is delivered at this time, it would have a good chance of surviving. It is best for your baby to remain inside of you for the remainder of the pregnancy, but great advances have been made in the care of a premature baby. Ventilators, monitors and medications all help premature babies develop and grow outside of the womb. If your baby were born this early, he would probably have to spend several months in the hospital and would be more susceptible to infections and other complications.
You can hear your baby's heartbeat with both a Doppler and a stethoscope at this time, and your partner may even be able to hear the heartbeat unaided if he puts his ear in the right position. Sex differentiation is being completed now. If you are expecting a baby boy, the testes start to descend into the scrotum. In baby girls, the vagina is hollowing out. Your baby is able to do more with their fingers now and can move his fingers to make a complete fist. As your baby becomes more dexterous, he will be able to touch and hold his feet. Babies also begin to prefer their left hand or right hand at this time. Because babies settle into routines of sleep and activity, you might begin to notice these patterns as well. Some women experience the most fetal movements while they are trying to rest.

What about when you have bh every 5 minutes laying down and 2-3 sitting up! Errr! And yes, I have been drinking plenty. I am so frustrated. This is exactly what happened before I had my 1st son.

Hello ladies I haven't had bh yet but I was wonder does anyone elses who-who feel like they have had a lot of sex when they haven't? (sorry tmi) Is it just hormones or should I be concerned?
AngelasFirst - 2 days ago
I'm starting week 25 today, and I still haven't gained a pound yet in this pregnancy. My dr. isn't worried. She says that I'm measuring normal, and the baby is too. I eat totally normally. But weeks 7-14 were very rough, and I was sick a lot. I would assume I would start to gain some weight at this point, though.
juliasmommy*blue* - 2 days ago
I have BH probably 5-10 times a day. They aren't painful or that uncomfortable, just the belly tightening and feeling hard. Sometimes it happens when I bend down, or use my stomach muscles too much. I guess it's common and ok.

braxton hicks is when your uterus to contract causing it to feel rock hard. with my 1st son i was @ an 8mnth appt. and the dr was checking my stomach and i mention that i think his head is pressing against my stomach. She looked at me with a big smile. She said. 'No thats not the baby! You re having a braxton hick'.. I replied ' No.. im pretty sure its the baby' Only for her to tell me ' Honey its a braxton trust me I know' lol i always thought contraction hurt. but have to admit the 2nd time around they way more uncomfortable
MayBaby(Pink) - 2 days ago
Can someone tell me what braxton hicks feel like? I have been getting what feels like mild menstrual cramps on and off. Not sure if that's braxton hicks
jessicaa(BLUE) - 2 days ago

Hi Ladies, still crazy busy here, but all good, just not enough hours in the day. Does any of you get a dull pelvic pain?? I've been having these for about a week now... OUCH! XXX
steveswife0425@yahoo.com - 3 days ago
What 100 days left. CRAZY! This is too soon... Other than the fact that im still getting sick everyday ( and getting more chipmunk looking everyday) i love being pregnant! Im almost done getting everything for the new baby... just need a carrier/sling.. and i think instead of spending alot of money on a pump ..im just going to get a manual one...My milk supply was horriable last time even with the hospital grade one( but my baby was also is the nicu for 6 weeks) So not going to go crazy & spend lots of $.

I just had an ultrasound this week and baby is head down. But I feel lots of movement down low - it must be punches that I am feeling! During the scan, baby kept kicking the doctor in the wand - he was laughing about it! That was up high so I guess it was feet. SO crazy in there!
wantsagirl *PINK* - 3 days ago
Maybabe-Thanks! Wow, you guys aren't kidding, it does sound like a load of BS. Something just doesn't add up. Happy February 1st! 7 more days until we get on the road and head to sunny Florida! I'm so ready (and yet, so not ready, if that makes sense). Do any of you ladies know which way your babies are facing right now? Heads up, heads down? I thought lil' miss here had flipped herself heads down earlier in the week because I was feeling a lot of kicks pretty high up, but now I think she must've gone heads up again, because we're back to the really low kicks, kicks in the bladder, and kicks to the cervix. Funny, with my boys, I literally FELT them flip around. Not so much with this one, she's such a mystery to me yet.

e and b - I had group b with my daughter and the only thing they do is give me IV antibiotics when I go into labor so the risk of infection for the baby goes down significantly. That will kill the strep bacteria in the vagina. I read online too and that sounded like the smartest thing to do to keep the baby from having a number of complications. If you are trying to go completely natural you may not want the antibiotics, but the risks for the baby are far greater. They aren't even testing me this time, just assuming I have it and will treat at labor time again.

Hello ladies. Had a good doctors app. today. Measuring a little small, which I'm sure is nothing. Proud of myself for only gaining 14 lbs so far...... 100 days to go so I'm sure that will change. Still dont know what we're having. Hopefully we find out soon C:

Andrea-I have a mini van and absolutely love it!! It is the most convenient comfortable mode of transportation that you can have for you and your kids. We bought mine after my son was born and I have never looked back. Now that we have our third coming, he is so excited to get to sit in the back, back seat!! You know, third row...

The news makes me sick. A teacher arrested for bounding and gagging childern in his class room. Force feeding them his semen. Disgusting..People are so sick. cant trust anyone! This makes me want to never let my childern go anywhere without me. Ugh.. my mom was molested as a child so this just hits me. I grew up seeing my mom struggle with the emotional pain that she still feels to this day. Shame on anyone that gets pleasure from hurting childern

Andrea30-I just went and read the blog, I am so confused. How could she hear the heartbeat that early in pregnancy (if there is one) and 40mph for 20 feet? You have got to be kidding me...I am just confused by the timeline of events. If she miscarried on the 2nd of this month then she would be max 3-4 weeks pregnant, there's no heartbeat yet...confused. Hope people don't make this stuff up, it would be really sad.

Hi all, iv a Q I hope someone can help me with....my nurse told me that I have Group Strep B virus GBS, and that it will have to be treated but when im in delivery. At my last check up in the hospital the midwife told me that lots of women have this infection and they WILL NOT TREAT me, but would only treat my newborn if he got infected.....since I came home iv read up on this and am really worried that I should be treated in advance to protect my boy?? im not sure who to chat with or if im just reading scary articles...anybody else been tested for the virus have comments for me. Thanks. First time mom-to-be, 26 weeks with my little boy xx

so i rented 'don't be afraid of the dark' movie from RedBox...I look up on wikipedia to see what exactly it's about and they gave the entire movie, even how it ends lol...great, now it's ruined haha

blue-stork, i'm the same with my kids at bedtime. there's always someone getting up or calling out. as soon as i hear / see them, my response is 'go back to bed or no.' i make sure all needs are met before bed time and they know to push it further if it's a real necessity...which is rarely. my kids are master manipulators. :)

That's what I thought... People are horrible to make up stuff like that!! If she isn't lying that's one crazy story... But I find it hard to believe.

why would there be an ultrasound if she miscarried almost a month ago? and every time i've had an ultrasound, they've told me exactly what the heartbeat is..why would they give her a range and not the rate? If she was ran OVER, and dragged 20 ft, why was she released from the hospital and no broken bones?
Andrea30 - 4 days ago
Okay can someone on here go to the blog titled help and read it!!! Sounds a little crazy and fake!!

Andrea, congrats on the minivan! I loved mine when I had it. I'm trying to figure out what to do about seats as well. I have a PT cruiser and I know an infant car seat will not fit in the back with two kidlets. I don't want to put my 9 year old in the front, although it's legal here. But i can't afford a car payment either.

Ladies I am so excited:).... This is baby number 3 for us and we bought a mini van today!!! I always said i would never drive a mini van but after baby number two I just couldnt see there being enough room in any other vehicle and was really excited to get something bigger:) so happy with our purchase and to finally have some space when we go out!!! This is also the first time we will be a two vehicle family!!! No more driving my hubby to work in the morning!!! This also being our third baby this pregnancy has flown by so quickly.... 'So ladies who are having lil girls please when they get of age have them vaccinated for HPV!'
OMG Blue Stork, I mean no disrespect. I'm sure a dx of HPV is terrifying. BUT...!!! Mommies, PLEASE DONT EVER, YES, EVER GIVE YOUR LITTLE GIRL THIS VACCINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a doctor myself. I cannot tell you how many adverse affects we see in our office alone due to this vac. I don't expect anyone to care about my little post. Just do the research yourself, and NOT the ones posted on the internet by the American Medical Association (AMA) or another minion of the AMA. PLEASE know that your teaching to your daughters and YOUR mentorship to your baby girls will fare FAR better than a poisonous injection ever will. Honestly, signed with love, AngelasFirst.

Tlb- my face is getting so fat too. By the time I give birth im going to look like a chipmunk. Babynumber1 - that has been happening for me too. A couple of days ago my boob tickled and when I went to scratch I noticed that I leaked a small amount of clear sticky fluid.. But atleast we know our milk factory is gearing up!

tlb- Yes lets hope that both our C.S. heal fast. Im just going to try to look at the big picture and not be such a worry wart that im going to fail! haha The only thing i remember that was really difficult for me was getting up and down. I never realized how much I used my stomach muscles for everything until I had my C.S. But i heard getting out of bed asap can make a world of difference.

Bbynumber1- I googled some answers and I seems to be universal. Your milk is starting to come in. This has been happening to me for the past couple weeks. They say even if you don't see your colostrum or have wet spots on your shirt, they say it's just dried up milk on your nipples.
