Your baby now weighs over 5.5 pounds and its crown-to-rump length is approximately 13.2 inches. Your baby's total length is around 20.25 inches at this point. Your uterus is now 6 inches from the bellybutton and the average weight gain is approximately 24 to 29 pounds.
Most pregnant women begin to feel cramped and heavy around this time and often become tired of being pregnant. Some women feel like they do not have to room to breathe or eat. You should eat small, but frequent, meals and rest as often as you can throughout the day. Your cervix will begin to dilate and efface within the next few weeks to make room for your baby's head to emerge from the birth canal. Your cervix needs to be 10 cm dilated in order to deliver your baby.
This week of your pregnancy your baby's fingernails will have definitely reached the tips of his fingers. When your baby is born, his nails may look long and pointy. Your baby is less likely to scratch himself at this point because of the lack of room in the uterus. Fat deposition will still continue and your baby is getting chubbier and rounder. Your baby's shoulders are plump at this point.

Miss Jade ~ I just saw your comment about your so wanting to sped his birthday with just you. I think that is so sweet of him, he knows y'alls lives are about to change and instead of being with friends he wants as much time as possible with just you! Cherish that and cherish your sweet boy for loving his Mommy so much! You are very lucky to have such a sweet and thoughtful child. God Bless!

Haven't written in a long time. Things have been so crazy around here. I got hurt at work back in December and have been home since with a lot of back/sciatic nerve problems :/ to top that off my daughter has also been going through a great deal not just with the PIH but also the babies father! Its almost like he upsets her on purpose sometimes and I try to explain that when she's upset her BP goes up and that's not good for mom or baby but he's so selfish I really don't think he cares! My daughter have been having more liquidity discharge and has brownish tinge for 2 weeks now. Doctor says its normal just probably her cervix changing, fingers crossed I'm praying! She is 35 weeks today and he said if she was to go into labor he wouldn't stop it now due to her BP but if she doesn't she's scheduled to be induced March 5th! We're so excited! She's so tired and its very hard seeing her like this. I hope all of you ladies are doing well. Take care and rest as much as possible!

I went to the Dr's office yesterday and my baby is measuring at 37.5 weeks. I haven't dropped and I have TONS of pressure in my whooooo whooooo and on my bladder. For 3 weeks, my weight gain stayed at 14 pounds and in 2 weeks I have gained 8lbs.....wth??? Not complaining...just wondering when/where did this come from. Also, I think I am depressed. Anyone else feeling like you are in a MAJOR FUNK?
lisarse - 2 days ago
I was 41 weeks when I went into labour with my last pregnancy, I don't expect any mucus plug showing up for me yet! although it would be nice for this baby to arrive on time instead of late like lazy big brother!! :)
miraclebaby24 - 2 days ago
I didn't lose my mucus plug with my first baby until I was 38 weeks and 5 days and I gave birth at 39 weeks. I thought I was just having Braxton Hicks contractions a few days before that, but it turns out, they were the real deal and I was in labor. I know they say each pregnancy is different, but I wasn't looking for my plug yet...I figured it would come in a few weeks.

Hi Ladies I haven't posted anything in really long time. I had my dr appt yesterday cause I have been having the hardest time breathing and my heart rate keep jumping up and down. My dr didn't seem to worried about it which I thought was odd. Im swelling like crazy and having alot of cramps. He didn't check my cervix but he did tell me that Im measuring at 36 weeks which made me happy. So I asked him when are we scheduling my c-section and he said around March 14-20 and I told him what my due date is the 15th and he said no its the 20th. Which would make me 34 weeks. Has this happened to anyone. I am so frustrated cause Im getting three different weeks and don't know which one to go by. If it was up to me I would stay at 35 weeks.

no mucus plug lose for me so far. Not really sure what to think of it... mmmm. :) i'm just a happy camper (i'm sure it will change in about 3 hours).
3redheads - 4 days ago
I haven't lost my mucus plug yet I wonder what it will look like this time I think sometimes you lose it slowly and others its a big glob
Ajsblessedmommy - 4 days ago
Well had my appointment today. Im still thick and closed but baby is heads down but not engaged or anything. Starting to drop so... also I have to move ahead to 36 weeks as they have my due date as the 5th so... but I wanted to chime in on the mucous plug topic before I did. I never had any real big glob(ick lol) with my son just a few decent sized ones(bout a quarter) and never with any blood or anything just clearish yellowish globs. but there was a few of them that were decent sized so I figured that was my mucous plug. Well ladies see you all in week 36 when you get there. This is gonna be weird, Im normally one of the ones gettin left behind out of our normal big group but now Im leaving some of you behind:(

Does anyone know why our names are not showing up in the list to the right?
threebagsfool - 4 days ago
Miss jade- my son is almost nine as well. I'm sure he will be happy about the baby, he just doesn't know what it will be like yet. Mine goes through a lot of phases also, sometimes seeming really excited and sometimes seeming jealous of the baby. Maybe you could take him for movie and ice cream and have some together time? There will be some adjustments in the first year, but he will always know he's your special little guy :)

I have been an emotional mess since last night it's my sons 9th birthday today and he doesn't want to have a party or anything all he said was this is our last time to be alone before my sister comes every year I do something big for his birthday like 1 minute I feel he's happy about the baby and then another minute I just feel like he doesn't care and as I'm writing this I'm just in tears
threebagsfool - 4 days ago
I don't remember losing my mucus plug with my first. This past one yesterday was preceded by really slimy discharge, then came out translucent and in a chunk (icky, I know)
I am so ready for this little girl to be here. Because my son was born at 36 weeks, I have been nervous about her being too early, but now that I am almost at 36 I feel so ready. My contractions are staying steady every 8 minutes apart since yesterday, but they aren't getting stronger or closer together yet, so I think I have a little while to go. I think I made a big mistake by planning on working up until labour starts, I am so tired, and my legs hurt so much that I can't sleep at night, let along walk around campus.
3redheads - 5 days ago
Ok so with my son my mucus plug was a brown and bloody slime blob and with my daughter I only lost clear slime with pink in it but I looked it up and some say it is a yellow slime blob with color so now I'm not sure

So when I went to the bathroom just a little bit ago I all of a sudden felt an enormous amount of pressure and then pain like Hannah was entering the birth canal. It freaked me out and I stood up really fast and 'sucked' her back in! Maybe I'm crazy but having birthed 3 kids naturally without any pain meds I know that feeling. But I'm not having much contractions anymore so I'm probably going to just lay down and try and relax. We'll see if anything else arises. I really don't want to head to l&d only to be sent home!!
R-N-E-Bump - 5 days ago
Surprise - I agreed to watch them until Hannah comes. I'm dreading the next couple days. Hopefully they will go quickly. I know this sound awful but I think we'll be watching a lot of movies. Usually we limit movie/video game time to an hour a day but all I want to do is lay on the couch.

RNE- no I havent called his dr yet but I will soon. I have been gettin quite a few bhs lately and Im pretty sure I was having a real one last night. With my son I never had any real contractions until after my waters started leaking the day my son came. But I was getting quite a few bhs for like 2-3 weeks before he came so if this little girl is gonna be anything like her brother I expect to see her in 2-3 weeks with the amount of bhs I have been having lol. But like I said the other day as long as I make it through february Im ok. As of March 1st she is free to come anytime. Maybe the last week in february depending on how I keep feeling lol.

Still been having my contractions all day, I'vebeen feeling downwards pressure and just now lost my mucus plug. Going to have to keep monitoring everything, I have another six hours of work still, but have been feeling really nauseaous the past hour :(
R-N-E-Bump - 5 days ago
Having loads of contractions today. Feel like crap. I just really hope she comes soon because I can't be like this for weeks while I have to care for my 3 other kids. So thankful I have a free day today but I'm not looking forward to the next couple days where I'll not only have my kids but also my niece and nephew. Geez, I can barely get off the couch today.

tara- that is a little silly that people questioned your items on your registry. I would be annoyed. Sorry- and sorry for your mom too. God willing, she will get healthier. We are doing a welcome baby party too and I am excited. It takes the pressure off, doesn't it :) Plus, I had mostly everything anyway from our last except for all the big stuff that people wouldn't buy anyway. So this time, my mom is just telling everyone to buy the baby cute outfits. By like you, it doesn't matter if they bring anything or not. Just showing up to meet the new baby is really enough for me. It shows that they care.

Ajs - have you called the doc and asked? I remember my own tetinus bump taking a while to go away but I don't remember how long it took.
Ajsblessedmommy - 6 days ago
Ok ladies i need your opinions and experience... My son had his 18 month appointment on january 19th. He had to get a tetanus booster. He got a fairly good sized bump and red mark which i heard was normal. Well he still has a bump(not as big but still) plus it still kinda looks like its bruised. What should i do?? I know a bump and bruise can be normal but almost a month later??

It's been forever since I've checked and it's nice to see that you all are doing great. Being my first time... I really get why women say they are READY by this time. I can't wait to pee more than a 1/4 cup, pull my boots on without holding my breath, and eat a regular meal... Kuddos to all of you!

Tara so sorry to hear about ur mom I hope everything works out for u guys about the welcoming party I wish I would have thought of that as I was forced to have a baby shower cause I never had one with my son honestly an hour in I was in my room laying down cause everyone wanting to rub my belly and putting this and that on me really got to me
Ajsblessedmommy - 6 days ago
I have finally had to take out my belly button ring not so much cause im getting too big but cause she is starting to drop and her movements make it start to get very painful around my belly button if my ring is still in. Kept it in about 3 weeks later this time around then i did when i was pregnant with my son:)
tara.guffey - 6 days ago
Yes! The leaking is gross! lol it doesnt have a bad odor or anything but there is a lot of extra stuff happening down there lmbo
tara.guffey - 6 days ago
I had one person offer to throw me a baby shower. After creating the registry I received a days worth of phone calls 'concerned' about the items and colors I picked for Baby Daisy. I found it very frustrating and unnecessarily judgemental. From the very begining I didnt like the attention of a baby shower but went along with the idea because I want my baby to have stuff lol. The more I thought about it the less interested I was...then my mom got sick (fighting cancer on her third round of chemo as I type this...)and I decided I didnt want a shower if my mother couldnt be there. Everyone understood, the party was cancelled and registry deleted. I was so relieved. But people kept asking 'what do you need, what can I buy you' I'm telling everyone I want homemade items or family heirlooms. I want something I will keep for my baby girl for a long time...I can buy my own Boppy pillow lol. I still wanted to do something to celebrate my lil ones begining so me and the amazing man I married decided on a Welcoming Party! I feel so much better about this plan ...now Daisy will be the center of attention and I am just a host. I imagined a large pot of stew on as family and friends stop by thru out the day, lingering for hours or staying for less than one (with or without gifts). Seems so much more about family and less about stuff. Anyone else had/having a welcoming party?

Lol yeah I know that feeling too but I'm pretty sure my water hasn't broke it's just like A LOT of discharge

LOL I still refuse to pack my bags!! But I think I will gather together the things for Hannah's bag. At least those aren't things I need to use everyday. I will also go ahead and make my list of things to pack...including what we need to send with the kids.

RNE- thats great. I have my appointment for my strep b on wednesday. I had my cervix checked at my last appointment cause I was having a contraction as the lady was checking the babys postion etc. and nothing was going on. Im hoping that its either still the same and nothing is going on or that its only a little bit of a change. Im still not ready lol. Come March 1st this little girl can come anytime but not until then lol.

RNE - Wow! Great news! It's situations like these that are reminding me to now be prepared at any time! Think I'll take some time today to pack my hospital bag! Hope things progress quickly & smoothly for you!

Thanks, everyone. I was still shaking & cramping this morning and was able to get an appt with the doctor. She said it could be a urinary tract infection, issues with my thyroid (my levels have been off) or even something bad I ate. She ran some tests and did a cervix check...I'm 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated, so I was relieved to know I won't be delivering just yet! My husband doesn't get home from Brazil until tomorrow and I can't imagine how to handle this with my 3 year old without some help! I'm still cramping and have started the shakes again...guess I'll wait it out. Thanks for your thoughts and advice. 3REDHEADS - My midwife told me I was anemic at my last appt. Your post just reminded me to take an iron pill - I haven't started them yet. Maybe this will help!!
R-N-E-Bump - 6 days ago
So I'm fully effaced, soft and stretchy and 3-3.5 cm dilated!!!! Doc says anytime. We'll see. With my son I was at a 4-5 for 2 1/2 weeks before finally going into labor. (Secretly I'm super excited and hopeful but I'm trying hard not to be!!)
3redheads - 6 days ago
Jotts I shake and get chills when I'm dilating but that's after I'm in active labor. and I get weak and shaky when my iron is low and I need a snack hope this helps let us know how things are going
threebagsfool - 6 days ago
Good luck at your appointment and strep test! I had the antibiotic with my first and it burned like crazy in my arm. I hope I pass mine next week.
R-N-E-Bump - 6 days ago
Doctor's appointment this morning. It's the first of my weekly check-ups and should be my first cervical check as well. I know they're also going to test me for strep-b and I'm praying I don't have it this time. The meds they give me while in labor make me vomit. It was so nice last time not to have to go through that.
threebagsfool - 7 days ago
Jmotts- I don't know how your blood pressure is, but I get shaking because mine is low. This for me is accompanied by dizziness and sometimes blacking out. Mine has been going on the entire pregnancy, but the symptoms come on suddenly It could also be related to a sudden drop in blood sugar levels. It is definitely something to make an appointment for to get checked out because it isn't a 'normal' pregnancy symptom.
R-N-E-Bump - 7 days ago
Well its 4:45 am and I'm wide awake once again. So annoying. J-motts - I hope you're doing better by now. I wish I knew what was bothering you. I don't usually shake while in labor but I suppose each labor is different so you never know.
J-Motts - 7 days ago
Hi Ladies! Could really use some help/advice if you have it. I was feeling a bit strange this evening before I put my son to bed with some strong BH contractions. After I put him down, I started shaking uncontrollably and getting a little dizzy. Not a lot of abdominal pain. I called the doctor's office - they didn't know what it could be, but said since I wasn't leaking or bleeding or cramping severely to wait it out. I was feeling better for a bit, but now it's almost s5 hours later (1:45 am) and I'm shaking uncontrollably again with some mild menstrual like pain in my lower abdomen. I'm so scared...my husband is in Brazil until Tuesday and I've got my 3 year old son here by myself. I'm waiting it out to see if things get worse, but I'm really starting to freak out...the mild cramping is one thing - it's the shaking that's bothering me. Has anyone else had this or heard of it??
