Morning Ladies! Happy 4th of July:-) I was up at 3am in bed trying to plan a way to get this little one out...so, I got up at 4:30 and already walked the dog plus did some stretching/squats. Now I might clean while my husband is still home...I'm sure I'll crash soon since I didn't sleep well but for right now I'm awake...I hope everyone has a great day!

chunkymunky~ What color is it? Does it smell funny? If it's yellow or greenish and smells funny you need to call the doctor. If it's clear and has no smell it's probably nothing, and if it is blood tinged it's probably your plug. If you are worried it never hurts to call either the doctor or L&D. Good luck!

Wow babyroo! Sounds like a few of us have had rough days. I had a great start to the day. Other than my groin/pelvic area feeling like it's going to bust apart at any moment, I had a good time. My MIL and I went to lunch, went shopping a bit but not much since I can barely walk, then we were sitting just chatting away when I got a phone call from my DH telling me that the bathroom wall caved in!! He called the landlord and got everything straightened out, but we just don't have time for this!! My DH is attending college and has a ton of homework due by Tuesday, my mom is coming in Tuesday for the delivery on Wednesday!! Not to mention all of the appointments I have between now and then. The only thing that would make it worse is if my little bean decided to come tonight! lol What a stressful weekend already.

ugh so aggravated.. had to come vent!!! So i had this WONDERFUL day planned out for me, hubby, and our son Tyler to go to the fair as its really the last day as just being 'us' until i am induced in 4 days. So we have a great day hangin out, get to the fair walk around for an hour before the fair was even open and get tyler all sorts of excited for the rides... hes only 21 months old and just shy of the 36 inches to ride the rides and to get an armband but we FINALLY found someone to give us one for him and ended up spending $55 for hubby and him to ride unlimited for the night. Well, we get on one ride, get off and it starts raining so we run under the grandstands and turn around and we see a DOWNPOUR! Our town is having flash floods and some places got as much as 5ft of water. So of course they shut down the fair.. but THANKFULLY they gave us armbands for another night. Just seems like everytime i have something nice planned it gets ruined. thanks for letting me vent.

Hey ladies just reading through the weeks wishing I was Preggo still...If there are any ladies fearing induction...both my girls were too comfy and I needed to be induced with both of them. I have never had a natural labor but with my youngest (8 months old) I done it with no pain meds.. and I say bring on the inductions, but both of mine went well. Hi all. I'm ttc and was just reading your q's about induction. I was induced with my daughter and it was awful. Even with cytotek & breaking my water, I wasn't progressing so my pitocin drip was as high as it can go. Part of the pain was because her head was sideways (eventually I had a section - she was NOT coming out, lol), but even before she started descending, it was bad - and I'm extremely pain-tolerant. With our next (hopefully soon!) pregnancy, I will sched a section or try natural vbac. No way I will have pitocin again. Ever :)

Hey ladies! I'm reading about your questions and things about being induced and thought I'd share a bit. I was induced with my first, and since I had nothing to compare it to I have no idea if it is worse than natural. I just figured it was going to be painful no matter what and didn't really know the difference. I did opt for the epidural though, which helped a lot. And I guess it may have been a little more painful leading up to the point when I could have it since I opted for other drugs before I could get the epidural. With this baby though, I am scheduled for a c-section next Wednesday and will definitely opt for induction if I am dialating at my appointment Monday. I'd much rather have a vaginal birth if possible and my doctor agreed to give it a go if my cervix is favorable before section day. It's tough to say weather one thing is better than another since everyone is different and our bodies handle things a bit differently. Good luck to everyone having to make the difficult decision, especially in first births. I'm sure it's hard going in to something not knowing much about it and how it will affect your body. When I had my son I didn't care because I just wanted to get him out. We were in a nasty car accident and that's why they decided to induce me. I have to say I'm glad they did because if we would have waited much longer he might have been well over 10 pounds and already had problems with dostocia. I now thank the Lord for my induction because the outcome could have been much worse for me and my son had we waited. It's a tough decision, but I'm sure whatever we all decide will be the best for us and our little babies.

Aomickler this is my first birth too. Pitocin is a synthetic form of the natural hormone oxytocin which creates contractions. I'm terrified of pain and I hear being induced is more painful than natural contractions. Plus petocin is one of those controversial drugs that many try to avoid unless it's absolutely necessary. I hope that last sentence doesn't start off one those heated debates again!

So i had my 38 week appointment yesterday. I had been contracting all day, it started off every 1 hour until 12:30, went to 30 mins for almost an 1 1/2 then dropped to every 20 mins. They were not painful though but I was hoping for some good news from the doc. She checked me which hurt by the way, this was my third internal and this is the first time that it hurt, I asked my husband if she had two fingers in there,lol. Well needless to say nothing is going on, still closed tight. She told us that they start considering induction between 40 and 41 weeks, they just make sure that the organs are developed first. So if anything I only have 3 weeks left. I was so disappointed I forgot to ask her about the vibrating feeling down there, I guess next time. Forgot to mention that the contractions stopped by the end of the night.

Set for the C-Section next Friday at 7:30. Woo hoo. It's a relief knowing. And baby is HUGE! So say the doctor. Well d'uh I could have told him that much.
tarlyn - I've had the same thing happening too. The doctor said it's either a pinched nerve or my body is now producing a new hormone readying the body for labor. Either way the only way to relieve it is to deliver.
AOMickler - I was induced starting with pitocin and it was awful. There was lots and lots of cramping. A friend had a baby around the same time and went natural and she said all she ever felt were the contractions as opposed to the constant cramping. But the joy you'll feel once your hear that baby cry. It makes it all worth it. And you'll forget about all the pain and focus completely on this little miracle you've just given birth to.

I dont know if im crazy but i been having this burning sensation in one spot in my lower back for the past month. First it starts to burn and then it is numb and it only happens when i sit down. What could this be?? And im so forgetful that everytime i go to the doctor i forget to ask him i have even wrote it on my hand and still forgot to ask!!!

my midwife is starting me on primrose oil & Blue Cohosh today along with two 30min baths a day. This combination will soften the cervix in preparation for a vag delivery. The blue cohosh is in pill form and the primrose oil is to be inserted at the opening. I am showing no signs of labor or belly dropping I just got checked and I'm completely at zero. I'm due on the 16th I hope I don't get induced oh nooooo the dreaded pitocin I don't want it!

My doctor said he has only scheduled one c section in his whole career due to the baby being too big. He's done plenty at the last minute, but never pre-scheduled another one. I really like the way he does things!

Went to my 38 week check up and also my pre-op appointment for my c-section on July 7th. I was having bad contractions 2 nights ago and doctor got my hopes up about doing my c-section last night BLAH! She was over scheduled so she couldn't fit me it. I had contractions again last night....but not enough to go into the hospital. ERGH. If I go into labor before the 7th I won't have my doctor do my c-section...it will be one of her partners doing it. So I guess I am going to have to wait until the 7th....4 more days!! woooo hooooo! I wish she would have just done it last night though...that would have been great.

sounds like everyone is getting c-sections! ouch!! I would attempt a vag first. I wouldn't let the doc scare u by saying oh the babies over 8lbs...so?? it can b done lol. my friend just delivered at baby over 10 lbs vag style....and she's tiny!!! i mean the type of girl who can eat choc doughnuts all day everyday and still weigh 100lbs soaking wet. and she delivered not one but three huge babies that way!!!! so u should attempt it before u go for a section....the recovery time is sooooo worth it.

Sooo... I went for my 38 weeks appointment today and was finally checked for the first time... Dr. said I was a finger tip dilated and real thin but she never gave me any numbers so I still don't know where I'm at but she measured my stomach and told me I am measuring 47 weeks!!!!! HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU MEASURE 47 WEEKS?!?! Anyways she said basically I could go into labor anytime or in a week at the most.. I'm having a horse!!! He's gonna be probably 10 lbs or more!!! I'm scared!! lol but so ready for him to be here!

hey ladies first day in week 38 i am due july 16 but mt dr wants to do a c section on july 6 because baby is over 8 lbs already and he is concerned about shoulder displacement in the baby. I M 3.5 cent dilated and been contracting off and on for a week. Im really scared about the c section becuase my first was born naturally i hope me and baby will be ok, well atleast its almost over and good luck to everyone else waiting to deliver.

I have tried everything I can think of...primerose oil(been on it for awhile) my boyfriend,squats,walking,pressure points, using breast pump,skipping,galloping,walking up hills....i even took my sisters advice and got on the lawn mower and went full speed ahead at every bump and hole I could find ( that caused her to go into labor)...all thd mower did was blister my hand and make my yard look funny...i probably should finished mowing but my back started hurting so now it looks a crazy person went mowing. I am having contractions as I'm typing this...(atleast I think I am)...its not painful just tons of pressure and tightening...ah I need to face it he's stuck :( he's staying in me forever lol

I just feel like I should go any day now...he can not get lower or he's gonna be popping out!!!! but when I went to the doctor yesterday I was still only a 'long 1' grrr...it feels impossible

Ourthird~ Wow, that's horrible!! I hope things work out and you find some help!! As for the popping sound, I've been getting like a clicking sound for a long time now. It seems like when she moves around and stretches out something in my belly pops or clicks. Very strange. As for the appetite, I feel like I want to eat something but can't figure out for the life of me what it is. I never feel like eating anything, let alone cooking a whole meal for three people. Tonight I thought I wanted chicken with sauce, so I made it and it was nasty. I've found that I can't eat very much either, but I think this baby is going to be super big. I swear her head is going to fall out of my hoohoo, and her feet are still up in my ribs. This next 6 days can't go by fast enough. To top things off, I'm still having troubles with my groin/pelvic area. Just feels like I'm going to split in two, and it's not getting any better, just worse. Thank goodness I have an appointment Monday! Anyway, good luck with everything!

I need to vent for a moment. I've got a six year old and a three year old and they're blessings. But here lately they're grating on my nerves. DH works 20 hours a day. He even had the nerve to take on a roofing job as a side job on July 11th. C-Section is July 10th. Apparently I'm supposed to watch the kids and baby at the hospital while he does that. Yeah, not a problem. My in-laws have nothing to do with us which is fine because they're a phone call away from getting their children taken away for abuse/neglect. My parents don't feel the need to really help. I'm so frustrated and tired. I feel stupid asking for help because no one ever wants to help. I don't ask unless I need it. And when I need it it's never there. There, now I feel a little better. Has anyone else heard popping noises coming from the belly? When baby hauls off and kicks hard I've been hearing it for a few days. Also, anyone else ravenously hungry again? My appetite had subsided.

SoOoOoOo I woke up to contractions this morning that were 5 minutes apart and they hurt sooo bad, I timed them and fell asleep after 45 minutes, then nothing, I really just want her to get here already, especially today because it is my dad's b-day.

SO I HAD MY 37 WK APPT TODAY. NO CHANGE- STILL 2 CM AND 80% EFFACED. BEEN LIKE THIS FOR 2 WKS. AT THIS POINT I AM NOT GONNA GET MY HOPES UP ANYMORE. WHEN HE IS READY TO COME HE WILL. THE DR. SAID HE SEEN SOME WOMEN HAVE A TOTALLY CLOSED CERVIX AND GO INTO LABOR THAT NIGHT AND OTHER BE 4 CM FOR WEEKS. SO CHECKING DOESNT REALLY MEAN TO MUCH. YOU JUST NEED TO LET NATURE PLAY IT COURSE. IT JUST REALLY STINKS WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN SO CRAMPY - THINKING LABOR IS ON THE WAY- AND ITS THOSE FAKE CONTRACTIONS- UGH!!!

only 5 more days til im induced...seems like an eternity away, but yet right around the corner at the same time.. weirdest feeling. The past week or so my son who is 21 months old has been SOOOO clingy and lovey dovey, but also acting out terrible. I think he knows something big is a bout to happen. We tell him all the time when baby brother will be here and where baby is at now, and he can rub my belly and stuff. But i just dont think he understands what baby brother is!!! Im so nervous about how im going to handle two!!

I rarely post...but having a bad day and need to release. I'm 41 today and am scheduled for July 14th. I just dont think I can make it another 12 days. I dont sleep. I throw everything up. I can barely walk and its 110 degrees here in Vegas...UgH. I'm trying to suck it up, but I think I'm starting to lose it from lack of sleep.

Anyone out there that has not been checked? I am going today, because the last two times that I went they didn't even feel my stomach, the baby could be head down, I could go into labor and need an emergency c-section. So I called today and said that I did not want to wait until next week, I wanted to go today and I wanted a better idea of what is going on. I am going at 4, few!

Mrs. Ned- I am kinda in the same boat... My doc advised me that waiting until your cervix is 'favorable' (soft enough) to do so otherwise it is like banging your head against a brick wall. It is better for mommy and baby to let it happen naturally, it can be too much stress on both. But it truly depends everyone is different. Good Luck

Mrs Ned Thanks i hope it works for me too then. I would say it depends on how you feel, If your feeling good and want to wait then wait but if your feeling anything like me i'd get induced lol..
