20-5-2008 - We\'re having a little GIRL!!!

My mood while writing this blog: ECSTATIC!!!!

On Friday, May 16th, we went to our "Anatomy Scan". I was in a whole lot of pain because i'm an idiot, and drank the 32oz of water they told me to, but i ALSO drank a medium sized Slurpee to get the baby moving INSTEAD of doing 1/2 and 1/2 or either/OR!!!...a good 1/2 hour later, i couldnt even STAND STRAIGHT, i was hunched over in SO much pain because my bladder was OVERLY full. I was sweating, and about to start crying it hurt so bad! I couldnt take it anymore and decided to go let some out, and the lady called me back, but i was halfway to the bathroom. she said "Are you OVERLY full?" i said yes, and she let me go let some out. i went in and didnt even shut the stall door!! it was so tempting to just keep going but SOMEHOW i made myself stop halfway through. it felt SO much better! All she needed the full bladder for was to check the placenta, and when we saw the bladder on screen it was still completely FULL, like i hadnt even let any out!! after about 2 mins. she finished measuring the placenta and let me go empty my bladder. it was the BEST FEELING it the WORLD!! lol i peed for 50 seconds STRAIGHT STREAM!! lol

So after that, we get started and look at the baby. The first shot is of the legs completely STRAIGHT OUT, she was asleep SITTING DOWN!! :) it was SOO cute! the u/s tech said, "Well, i dont see anything between those legs...it looks like a GIRL!!" i was in SOOOOO much shock!!! i was WAITING for them to say BOY!! i was POSITIVE!! i looked over at my hubby and he had the BIGGEST smile on his face. it was cute. We checked her heart, bladder, kidneys, head, nuchal fold, limbs, EVERYTHING. it was so amazing. She actually looked like a BABY and not a GUMMY BEAR!! :)

We checked between her legs about 3 more times, and there still wasnt anything...

She started to wake up about 1/2 way through the scan, and we saw her YAWN! it was SO amazing! She also was drinking some amniotic fluid. Then she layed on her back, STRETCHED and put one hand behind her head!! like she was just CHILLIN!! it was SO funny! we finished but then had to go back in for some more pics because the doc wasnt satisfied, so we got to see more! she was still laying down, but was playing with her feet. My hubby said it looked like she put one in her mouth!! :) She was also flexing her hand and we got so see it, it was so amazing we saw EVERY SINGLE bone in it! it was so clear!

Before we finished i asked if she could check once more (i was still waiting for a little peep to appear!) and she said ok. we looked and still nothing, but we DID she the 3 lines you're suppose to see for a little girl. they were there, BOLD AND WHITE!!

i was SOO excited! i lost a few bets! but i dont care! i have my little doll i get to dress up now! it was also really funny because we were looking at her side profile, and the u/s tech said "Wow, this baby has a really tiny nose!" and me and my husband started busting up, because its an ongoing joke about how much he loves my nose and how much i hate it. its always been a little button nose, because i'm part japanese, and EVERYONE wonders if she will have the same one, so to hear her say that was just so funny!

I'm so excited to have my little princess. now the name wars can begin!!

OMG I am so excited for you! I know how bad you wanted your baby girl...and know you have it!!! That is so great! It sounds like your baby girl is going to be a character...so what are the names you two are fighting about?
