22-6-2009 - Im SOOOO Frustrated!!!!

My mood while writing this blog: Arhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Ok here's the story. I spent 2 hours on the phone this morning and all for what?...NOTHING! I call social services to find out the status of my medicaid. She tells me my birth certificate hasnt came back yet. So Im like well how long do you think before it will be here? (mind you I filled out the paper work 2 MONTHS AGO!) She says their financial dept messed up something so they had to send i back out and it could take another month! I am mad by then so i just say ok. I call 1 clinic and they tell me I can can pay a $50 co-pay or get on a sliding scale program till my medicaid kicks in , all i have to do is make a doc apt first then make a sliding scale apt. (u cant get sliding scale till u have an apt) So im like ok, thats easy...I'll just do that in the meantime. I call to make a doc apt...We dont have any new patient apts available, try calling back at the end of the week. OK..fine. I'll try the other clinics. 2nd one...We dont have any new patient apts available, try calling back NEXT MONTH!...3rd and 4th one...(recording) Sorry we dont have any new patient apts available...Click!...WTF! Im pissed by now. SO my mom give me the number to get a copy of my Birth certificate my self...I call them...on hold for 15 min only for them to tell me I have to order it online! And on top of that its 50 sumthin dollars to get it (which i dont have, i mean i have no job. I cant just pull 50 dollars out my ass!) or 30 to send it reg mail but it takes 6-8 weeks( Thats another 2 freakin months!) Im already 19 wks, By time I get to see a doc I'll be going into labor! I think my little one can tell im stressed. He/ she didnt move that much today :-(

I do believe mine was also only 15 to 20 dollars. I wish you could get in somewhere, medicaid goes back 3 months if I remember right. Check into it. Good Luck! Keep us posted.

all you have to do is got to google and type in birth ciertificates and the state that you were born in. each state has a special form that you fill out with a photocopy of your id and no more then 20 dollars and in afew days there you go. I know cuz I was born in Chicago and I currently reside in florida. All I had to pay was 15 dollars no shipping and include a prestamped preaddressed envolope. it took a week.

Funny bcuz im going thru the samething but my insurance stopped when i was about 30 wks and now im 37 and 5 days and I havent seen a dr since but I have been 2 the hospital twice guess what 2day i recieve a bill in the mail for $1700. All they did was check me in and hook me up to the monitors. Good Luck hope you get the care you need soon.
