23-6-2010 - ENT update

My mood while writing this blog: Pretty good

I love to say this phrase more than any other in the english language....ready?....wait for it....wait for it.........." I WAS RIGHT!!" LOL!! HA HA HA...anyways, the reason for my favorite phrase, is that the ENT we took Hannah to totally and 100% agreed with me in that she needs to have Tubes put in her ears! He said we should have been there at least TWO infections ago! Huh, sounds familiar doesn't it?!!

They checked her hearing and she passed within normal response times, so far as they can tell there is no hearing loss. However with kids this young it's not a 100% for sure thing, they can't use the head phone test yet so we'll have to get her hearing checked again. So, in the hearing test they also do a "pressure" screening, to see if there is any fluids in the inner ear. Well, here I go again...." I WAS RIGHT...AGAIN!" she had fluid in her inner ear, which didn't surprise me, as she always does at any check up or visit!

He said that is probably why she is so clumsy, I chalked it up to her being a toddler but she does have a tendancy to fall over for no reason. He said that once the tubes are in she'll probably stop tripping so much, and run a LOT better. She talks very well for all the fluid she has, but he said that it will also get clearer after the tubes are in. She might be a little noise sensative after their in too. But that is just fine by me, I just want the infections to be over and her to be happy and out of pain!!!!!! So, on July 16th Hannah will go into the hospital and have her tubes put in!

I am soooooo happy that the sleepless nights, and the pain, and the frustration is almost over for her!!!!! And for us!!!!!

And on a side note, we leave for vacation in 10 days....WOOOO HOOOOO....I need a break!!!!!
