25-6-2009 - The weirdest thing

My mood while writing this blog: good

I went to the mall with one of my girlfriends yesterday. We both brought along our newborns thinking it would a nice relaxing day at the mall when infact, it turned out to be a 3 hour escapade just to buy 4 shirts, lol.

Ahhh babies...

We had to stop numerous times to feed them, change them, or just comfort them. And then of course you run into everyone you know at the mall because you have the baby with you. So I ended up telling the same story a few times: "Yeah...she's 2 weeks and 2 days...", "yes I had an epidural", "yes, she is small...", "She was 6 lbs 14 ounces..." ETC.

Now none of this shocked me or came across as weird. The weird part came when we were hitting our last store before leaving the mall... the sales women came up to me and my friend and were telling her how cute her baby was, you know, the usual stuff people tell us all when we have a baby... and then they came up to me and said.... "Oh she's so cute! Is she yours???" I was SHOCKED! lol, it never even occurred to me that ppl. might ask me that! Now of course I cannot get mad at the sales ladies, my daughter is mixed and I am PALE, but it still took be by surprise! I just said a quick "yep" without offering any explanation. I was like "great, now not only do I have to put up with pale jokes from the boyfriend, but now ppl. are going to be skeptical as to if she's mine at all." lol

Oh well, it was funny. So as soon as my bf came home from work, I just HAD to tell him because I knew he'd get a kick out of it. He did indeed.

I just had to tell ppl. about it because honestly, out of all the questions ppl. ask you about your baby, THAT is not one you would expect to hear. lol

I've gotten that to with my baby. He isn't biracial, but I lost all my weight fast, and people can't believe he's mine.

That's crazy! Lol. You are going to hear that a lot. Me personally, I think your baby is too beautiful! And although my baby isn't mixed, people still come up and say, 'awww, is this your baby?!?' I hear it so much I just be wanting to say, 'no, I found her at the front door on the way in here!'Lol. And people keep saying I look too young to have a baby! Okay- I am 21 years old, married for 2yrs now, my own house...doing very good. How am I too young? Lol
