02-11-2009 - IUI w/injectables discouragedMy mood while writing this blog:
discouraged

So back on 9/22 I had a lap/hysterscopy/hsg and got everything checked out and cleaned out. Everything was good to go for my first IUI in November. The plan was IUI/femara, that's easy enough. Then my RE decides to do 3 day blood work...you know FSH etc to make sure everything was still within normal limits, but this time he also check my AMH (Anti-mullerian hormone) This hormone gives them an idea of how well you will respond to meds because it measures your ovarian reserve. You want this number to be at least a 1 but a 2,3,4 or higher would be great.....well mine came back as 0.47 so it's low =( so now I've been diagnosed with "diminished ovarian reserve for my age". I did not see this coming at all. I thought my eggs were the only thing I really had going for me since I only have the one tube. I ovulate on my own every month and right on time, I had no idea there was an issue or that I was low on eggs. So now instead of IUI w/ femara, I am doing IUI w femara and follistim. Because of the egg issue and the fact that I only have my right tube, I have to be more aggressive in hopes of getting good follies on my good side. I know there are women who have it a lot worse than me so I just try to keep my chin up and not get too down about it. I hope this works soon because I can't do this for years.

I go in Weds to do my baseline ultrasound and learn how to do my injections etc. Fun stuff!! LOL

I hope you all are doing well. So many are either expecting now or delivered. Congratulations to you all and baby dust to those trying. We will have our babies too! Just Believe!!!

hugs to all
