14-9-2009 - Brenna's Here

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Saturday at 11:00pm while laying in bed my water broke (I thought it may be discharge so went to the bathroom) and out came clear fluid that wouldn't stop, at that time I wasn't experiencing contractions. I called the OB on call and she said to take my time but come into the hospital. I was admitted and they ran a few test and found out that indeed my water did break and at that time I started having light contractions so they gave me a pill to increase the contractions...few hours later my contractions still weren't very powerful enough so they started me on potassium and after many hours of very painful contractions I did have an epidural (Man was I impressed with that! I was still able to move my legs but I wasn't able to feel the pain of the contractions just the pressure) I started pushing at 3:00 pm Sunday evening and she was caught in the birth canal for a few hours and the Dr said she would try the vacuum and if that didn't work we would have to do a c-sec...well I think Brenna heard her say that because after 12 very long and hard pushes and the help of a vacuum she was born at 5:45pm...7lbs 9oz-20 1/2 inches long, she has lots of black hair and green eyes. I will post pics as soon as I get home!

That is awesome! we had our babies on the same day! I'm soooo happy for you! I need to post my story. it has been a long 4 days and just got home yesterday. Hope you are doing good!

I kept waiting for your responses on my blogs lol and then you never did so I figured you went into labor!!! you are sooo lucky lol! was the pain as bad as everyone says it is?? how is she doing?? how is newborn life? i'm being a pain lol but I'm soo happy for you!!! Cant wait to see pictures!

Congratulations, honey!! I am so glad everything worked out; it must have been scary for a while though. I am going on Thursday to be induced... wish me luck and yes, post pics when you can!! :) xo
