15-8-2008 - AFP test Results

Well yesterday, August 14th, I had my 17 week check up. I went with my mother-in-law who could not stop smiling, and was super excited that I asked her to come with me. During this check up, I was to find out my results of the AFP blood test. I was a little nervous, since I have been through a lot of radiation and nuclear test due to my thyroid cancer. But I was very relieved to hear that all of the four things they tested all came back negative!!!!!! Yay!!!! I was super happy.

After we went through the test results we got to hear the heartbeat. My mother-in-law was so cute, her face lit up to hear the fast and strong heartbeat of her grandchild. But the baby kept kicking the doppler and distorting the sound. He/she was very active yesterday, which make me feel good. I can even feel it moving around which is the coolest feeling ever.

Now the bad part of my appt is that I have gained 15 lbs if you count the weight I was a year ago as the starting weight. My mother in law says it is mostly in my stomach, breast and butt. lol. So I am def going to be walking a little more and trying to eat better. But those milk shakes are just to good. Ladies you have to agree with me...ha-ha

Today is the day that my in laws, hubby and I get to do the ultrasound to see the baby and hopefully find out the sex. Wish us luck and pray the baby is as active as he/she was yesterday. I want to know so bad it is killing me!!!!! 2 more hours!!!!!

thats so adorable about u and ur mil going to your appt. I'm sure she was just so happy you included her :) don't worry about the weight hunny. This is the only time in ur life u are going to be able to enjoy the weight and have an excuse for alittle while. U can do all the crunches and running after the baby.
