21-11-2009 - My labour

My mood while writing this blog: Happy

Well 5.00am the 20th of November i started having slight contractions. They were getting stronger and stronger through the day so i rung me midwife and she came around. At which point i was already 2cm dialated. She went away fro a bit and came back and we made a plan. I went into the hospital at 8.30pm that night and at 9pm she broke my waters. Then it was all on. But... With every contraction i had Emmas heart beat was dropping form 140bpm to 70. They were very concerned and book me a epidural incase of a c section. After half an hour her heart beat was back to normal and i was 5cm dialated. Unfortunately for me she was stuck and nothing was going anywhere I was just in sooo much pain. So my midwife got me a epidural but that didnt arrive for hours and by this time i was yelling and screaming the house down.... Finally the epidural came and by the time they had put it all in i was fully dialated. So i began to push but nothing was happening she was still turned side on and her poor wee head couldnt fit. But after a hour and a half of pushing she moved and i gave a few more pushes but wasnt having too much luck so they have me a hand and put a suction cap on her head and as i pushed they pulled and finally at 2.14am she was born and crazy enough it was on here proper due date :) She is now doing very well and is currently asleep on the couch with her Daddy. He is very proud and i will soo upload photos soon :) Thanks for everyones lovely comments... Its nice to come back and read them :)
