Lilly birth story:
I had to be at the hospital at 5:30am. My kids went to my moms and of course I could not sleep very well the night before. We arrived at the hospital late of course by five minutes. Got all checked in and off to the labor and deliverly floor. Got settled in the room and the nurse prep me. Time was going by fast and I was getting more and more nervous not knowning the knowning. We got the call at 7:30am on time they were ready. I was the first c-section that day :). I headed to the c-section room where my dr. was. I was then given the spinal block. I was nervous about this to and the nurse was telling me more people are nervous over the spinal block then the c-section. I was more nervous about the cutting me up part :(. Once I was num I was then put in strups so the dr. could take out the cerclage. Boy was that werid to see your feet moving and not being able to feel them. Once the cerclage removed I was then prep for the c-section. The c-section began, it seemed like it took for ever. Finally my duaghter was born at 8:22am. When she came out and started to cry I was in amazed that I just had her and started to cry because I could hear her crying away. She was perfect. They cleaned her up and took her to the nursey and hubby went with her. The doctors finish putting me back together. By then I was finally ok with the world. Once I was sewed up I went to recovery room. About 15 minutes later I fianlly got to see my little girl and hold her. After recovery I was taken to my room where my family was allowed in. My twins were so excited to meet their sister and wanted to hold her.
Lilly is doing really well. It was werid to have a baby full term and be able to hold her, feed her, change her diaper. The long 9 months were so worth it. I also did pretty well after my c-setion. That night I had everything removed, was able to eat real food, and was walking. The nurses were so amazed that I did not need any pain meds for the whole day. It is funny. When I had the twins after my c-section I was hitting the morfin button like crazy. This time around did not hit it once. I did have to take some pain meds that night because the nurse said I needed them. Ok, then after that I did have to take pain meds every 12 hours and it was a low dose. My dr. was impressed I was doing so well. I had her Wednesday morning and was able to come home Friday afternoon. Boy was I glad to get out of the hospital and be able to come home. I am doing well, no pain meds, getting around with little pain. I go in on Wednesday to have my stables removed. Lilly goes to her first dr. appt tomorrow and my son starts preschool and Wednesday my daughter starts preschool. One busy week.
Two Funny things:
1. My daughter weighed 6lb 10ozs when born our room we stayed in was 610 :)
2. My husband took the kids downstairs at the hosptial to get something. When they came back a lady was in the room to take some blood work from Lilly. Well, my other daughter asked me what the lady was doing so I told her the lady is here to take Lilly blood. She started to freak out screaming and crying don't hurt Lilly, don't make her cry. I had my husband take her out of the room and she was still screaming and my husband said she was shaking. It was cute and funny at the same time because we did not except her to do any of that. What a big protective sister :)
