16-5-2008 - 1st appoimtment

So, I had my first pre-natal appointment today. We talked alot then talked some more. I felt like I was being interviewed. Have you ever... has your husband ever... has anyone in your families ever.... Blah, blah, blah.

The nurse weighed me, I've gained 5 lbs since April 23rd when I found out I was pregnant. I wasn't surprised and she was ok with it so I guess I'm on tract. According to her pregnancy calculation doohickey, She estimates my due date at December 28th but I like my date better and since they are rarely accurate I am going to stick with my own calculations, December 26th.

She ordered blood work (lots of it), a urine culture, a glucose test, and another Hcg. The lab works quick so I will have my results today after 2. She gave me info on the hospitals birthing center, talked to me about doula services, birthing classes, what to expect throughout my pregnancy, emergency phone numbers, introduced me to the office staff, set up my next appointment, and sent me on my way.

I'll call the lab after 2 right now I am going to take a nap...yawn...
