05-12-2008 - Ragan's 6 mo checkup

My mood while writing this blog:
ok

So Ragan had her 6 mo checkup today and it went ok.... she didn't quite weigh what i was hoping for but she is weighing in at 12 lbs 14.5 oz and is 25 in long. The doc said she was doing great milestone wise and was marveled by the fact that she is crawling! Another thing she learned to do just today is she now can pull herself up on her bouncy chair! I couldn't believe it when i saw her on her knees and the rest of herself was propped up on the chair! So now we really have to watch her lol! I was worried about her weight and another great mom on this site gave me some great advice! Instead of worrying I am going to be happy that she is healthy and doing great things and if she's gonna be teeny she will be our teeny peanut!!! I hope all is well with everyone and their peanuts!!

My daughter the 2nd one is 2 years old and weighs 25 pounds only she is really petit! I never weight over 100 pounds until i was about 20 and cause i got pregnant with my first! your daughter is super adorable

your daughter sounds just like mine. my daughter is 6 1/2 months old and is 14.4 lbs and 25inch. your daughter is reaching milestones way ahead of others her age so obviously she is very healthy!! i too worry about Gabriela's weight but she has sooooo much energy, sleeps well, and doesn't appear to have any problem. She rarely ever finishes a 6oz bottle. i dont think her stomach can handle that much. she only drinks about 20 oz per day and eats about 1/2 cup of oatmeal and some fruits and veggies. she wont have anything to do with pureed meats. hopefully she will start to like them. but, we just have small babies that will be the envy of other girls when they are older b/c they will probably always be thin!!

Gah! She even weighs more than Michael, so I hear ya on the weight, but I will try to follow your advice too. No sense worrying about it. Way to go on the moving, Ragan!

also she is on the move now too ya know? my friend's 9m old is just 16lbs! and she is perfectly fine! she's long too! lol! her mom is tall and thin. and Mara's dr was surprised she was only 13.6 because she def looks bigger, wierd right? lol, its all good! she was so fussy today fromt eh shots, must be the flu shot, she had a slight temp so i gave her tylenol which i haven't before, well i did but she threw it right up at her 4m set of shots, same batch. (except this one she added flu and the oral they FORGOT to give her last time) ya i need a new dr.!!!!!!!!
anyway. glad she is doing well!! she's just teeny thats all right! she's happy and healthy and thats all that matters!! ttys!
