| 18-3-2010 - 38 week update | My mood while writing this blog:relaxed |
Today is the first day of 38 weeks for me. Yesterday I had my 38 week check with my doctors associate. I had gained 5 lbs from last week but I think it is fluid in my legs, ankles and fred flintstone feet!!! My blood pressure was 122/77 which is high for me. Baby's heart rate was 148. I had an internal exam and my cervix is still long, firm and closed so the doc said I will make it to my next weeks appointment which I'm not unhappy about. I would like to see a little progress next week however.
This week has been spring break for my girls. They have been very helpful in getting things ready for the baby which I know hasn't been the fun filled week I usually try to give them during spring break... The house is coming along, as far as the cleaning goes, laundry is caught up and now I can start washing up baby clothes. The crib is set up, swing and stroller too... We have the necessary items to bring our sweet baby home and I have a baby shower on Saturday. Sunday I will wash up anything else that needs to be ready for Tres and next week I will finish the "clean sweep" of the house, my kitchen and closet (with help of course). I can't believe how close it is to this pregnancy being over. My worst symptom is the swelling so I feel very fortunate. Tres has been so kind to mama... I'm looking forward to holding and meeting our newest member to the Hernandez household as are his daddy and sisters.
Going for a manicure today and need to find some sort of shoes (probably flip flops) that won't look too tacky at my shower... Maybe I'll even shop a little for some nursing gowns and shirts, I hear Old Navy is a good place with good prices so we will see... I still need to pack my bag for the hospital, but from what I can remember I won't need a ton of stuff... Until next week, talk to ya soon...
