27-10-2009 - 18 weeks tomorrow

My mood while writing this blog: Thoughtful

Today is my last day of week 17. I have a doctor's appt. this morning and hoping to hear a strong heartbeat without any drama. Last appt. the nurse searched for almost 10 minutes... She asked if I had been told I had an irregularly shaped uterus??? Huh?? NOOOOO.... Do I? "No, just wondering...", She confirmed what week I was in and kept searching. When she finally found the heartbeat we heard it for about 15-30 seconds and the baby moved away. She said, "heartbeat in the 150's".... this baby must be sneaky... That was it and it was kinda a let down as I am trying to bond with this new person... Doctor wasn't worried so I tried not to be either. Both of my daughters seemed to be easy to find and I had no idea that the baby would move around and not want to be listened too, must be a boy (Ha, Ha).

Anyway I am looking forward to hearing a heartbeat today without worry. I had an early sonogram at about 8 weeks to confirm the pregnancy and due date and saw the baby's heartbeat but this will be the first time to really hear it since last appt. was so anticlimatic. I will also find out when I'm having my next ultrasound, sometime in November.

I have been feeling slight movements and am looking forward to them getting stronger and more definate. Until then I will enjoy each day with each new symptom, ache and pound...
