My mood while writing this blog: Concerned |
Hey girls.....
I went to my appointment tonight and my Ob wants me to start taking weekly NST testing. This is for a few reasons. Fetal movement has decreased (just a bit)...but he thinks it is due to the baby being huge and my placenta being anterior(maybe I don't feel it as much). He reassured me that the baby is fine, heart rate is great, bp is normal...but he thinks the baby is really big.
Has anyone or is anyone else going for this test right now? I know that they hook up the belly strap to monitor movement and heart rate. But will they also do an ultrasound on me to see what my son's weight is? I'm confident that he is fine...I just don't like being fully informed on a situation.
So if one of my belly buddies is going through this...could you get back to me A.S.A.P. on your experiences with the NST.
Other than that I'm doing well....maybe they will schedule my section sooner, that would be SWEEEEET!!
Have a good night ladies~
XO

Wednesday, 5 Nov I have being doing Nst for the the last three weeks. They have me doing it for AMA . You will get an ultrasound after they watch the heart rate and what not but it will be only a biophyscial make up and just to check on the fluid surrounding baby unless the doctor order a ultrasound to check fetal growth.I went through waht you are going through now with my last child her movement had slow down a little mailnly because she had no where to go. My daughter was 8lbs 15ozs and the same is probably true for your child don't be scared the Nst takes about forty five minutes in and out . kt08dec88 -
Wednesday, 5 Nov I have been going weekly for the last two months, and ill continue to until i deliver... i go because of Gestational Diebities... All it is is seeing that your babys heartrate goes up when he/she moves... this is supposed to happen... I have noticed that with little motions his heartbeat doesnt go up that much, but when you feel him really move it shoots from like 140 to high in the 160's. If his heartrate doesnt go up when he moves that is a bad thing... takes about 20 minutes... It will also measure if you are having any contractions. I did have an ultrasound...biophysical profile.... the first visit when i got the nst...but that is because of the GD and checking his weight... so im not sure if they will do that for you or not...but i wouldnt count on it, because if you dont get it you may be dissapointed... but good luck! make sure you eat before you go, if the baby isnt moving you are almost certaint to be in labor and delivery for 1/2 the day until they make sure everythings alright.... If you want some advice, i would say dont press the button on every little kick you feel, only on the big ones, cuz otherwise the paper will be all marked up and theyll look at you like your crazy, like they did me the first time until i learned my lesson, if you dont know what im tlaking about you prolly will when you have your first test...tt yl =) Natasha666 -
Wednesday, 5 Nov i also go for these as well due to being anemic which has made the babys heart rate go up. its very high and they need to momitor me and the baby. i go once a week and they put the monitor on me for about 20 mins. no worries they are just making sure that every thing is ok and stays that way. marinewife8412 -
Tuesday, 4 Nov I've had a couple NST's this time too. They strap you to the monitors for 20 minutes. During that time the baby has to show 5 movements that elevate their heartrate. They don't do an ultrasound at these. You get to sit in a nice comfy recliner chair and relax for 20 minutes without the kids..it's like a little mini vacation!! I'm sure it will be fine. I go because my baby's movements have decreased as well.
