| 04-12-2008 - Robbie's First Check Up | My mood while writing this blog:Zombied |
Yesterday was lil man's first check up~
He was 9lbs 1oz at birth and is already at 9lbs 12oz! Chunk muffin has no problem keeping the weight on LOL I breastfeed him during the day and supplement with Enfamil Gentlease formula at night. I was not able to breastfeed my daughters as easily---very proud of myself this time around! It is hard work at first...but the connection that you share between you and the baby is so worth all of the initial drama ;) Not to mention all of the benefits of breastfeeding your baby that come along with it^_^
Robbie does have a small hematoma *blood clot* on the back of his skull between the skin. NO WORRIES though, it is a common birth trauma with caesareans--especially if there was a lengthy labour prior to the section. It will fade and drain on its own before 3 months. He was engaged in my pelvis, face up , for 8 hours--poor little dude!
My youngest daughter brought home a lovely stuffy nose that got passed along to me and the baby! I feel so bad for him:-( He has to sleep tilted upright a bit, and the only relief he has is the nasal aspirator~ The Dr. said if a fever isn't present that I just have to let it run it's course.
Despite waking because his nose is plugged up, his schedule is coming along. He feeds 3-4oz every 3 hours. Can't complain there! But by 7am when I get the girls off to school, I'm KO'd=O 3 kids is quite the chore..thank God the girls are older and can do some things for themselves! Hubby is back to work now, so it's just me and my crew!! I must admit I love it, tired, but lovin' it!!
Next appointment is for his vaccines at the end of January. My doctor informed me of this new vaccination that helps prevent diarrhea, Rota-something??!! I read the pamphlet and it sounds good to me. It helps prevent dehydration that can come along with a serious gastro-infection. Anyone else heard of this and if so, what are your thoughts?
KK, back to crazy town--I hope all you Mommies are hanging in there! Stay well and God bless
XO
