| 03-8-2009 - Dancing Shoes or Football Boots? | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
Finally, yesterday at 22 weeks 5 days, "Willow" decided to notify us of his/her presence with a swift kick.
After spending several hours patting, cooing and talking to my naked belly, the family have decided my placenta must be the size of a sandwich plate as there is a narrow circular band in which movement can be felt by me or the family.
So the question is has my baby found her Dancing Shoes or his Football boots? On 12th August, I get my 4D gender scan, so placenta willing I will know for sure if I am joining Team Pink or Team Blue!!!!!
Although, I couldnt feel the kicking until yesterday, my digestive system has been taking a bit of a beating this week. I have been feeling sick and making more than a few mad dashes to the loo, coupled with that TMI alert!!!!! (urgent rushing for bowels too!) In a bid to try and keep the queasiness under control, I have tried to increase the dry carbohydrates whether I am hungry or not. When I feel sick, I have a dry cracker or slice of toast with marmite, that is usually enough to settle my tummy back down.
Popped on the scales today, and my weight gain that has been hovering around 2/3lb has now gone to 5lb! Looking at myself in the full length mirror, there was no way anyone would mistake me for being fat rather than pregnant, so I thought it was about time I got the tape measure out again. I have decided to keep measuring every fortnight now til the baby arrives.
My starting measurements were:
BB's 44"
Waist 36"
Hips 43"
Well, about two weeks ago my measurements were as follows:
BB's 47"
Waist 48"
Hips 43"
This morning my measurements were:
BB's 46" (-1")
Waist 51" (+3")
Hips 43" ( no change)
If my waistline continues growing at this pace, I will end up with a waist of 75" by the time I give birth (I was 60" last time round which was bad enough).
With my first child I got very bad oedema at 7 months, and blew up almost overnight, although I used stretch mark cream, I ended with screaming red stretch marks varying between 1/8" and 1/4" wide, which turned blackish/purple (like a bruise) after about a week (DH thought I looked like a zebra!). Although the skin in between the stretch marks shrank back afterwards, the stretch marks themselves didnt and eventually turned silvery white.
Fortunately, with the other two, I didnt gain any new stretch marks, but I think its time to get the stretch mark cream out again. If this rate of expansion continues I might need to buy it "wholesale"
