| 15-9-2009 - Zach has found the map again | My mood while writing this blog:exhausted |
Well, I had three days of light relief while Zach decided sitting on his backside was a good idea. I say light relief as I had a bad migraine all weekend, but managed to get by. My skin started to improve too...a pregnancy glow at last!
Until Monday! I woke up for my first breakfast at 1.30am which is the earliest it has ever been. I managed to get downstairs with the same relative ease that I had had for the previous few days. Zach did not approve of my breakfast so early in the morning, and decided stamping up and down in my pelvis was an appropriate way to express his discontent. So much so I thought I had better try to calm him down. I grabbed some baby lotion and started massaging it into my tummy while I started humming. After what seemed hours he started to settle down and my tummy became less rigid so the kicks were less painful, although I was increasingly aware of heartburn. After having some dry toast and cup of tea at about 5am, I thought I would check his heart rate to see what my likelihood of getting any sleep would be.
Took me a little while to find it, cos he has decided that head down is more comfy after all, and has decided to follow the map. Two inches below the belly button on the right side, 122bpm....."thank goodness he had settled to sleep, I just might be able to get some sleep myself."
Common sense would have been to curl up on the settee retrieving the duvet that is usually stuffed down behind it, but no, stupidly I thought I would go upto bed. BIG MISTAKE! After climbing two steps like a normal person, I was in agony again. I ended up shuffling two feet up onto one step before adjusting my position to attempt the next step, by the time I got to the top of the stairs I had tears running down my face. I probably resembled a depressed emporer penguin shuffling along but I just wanted to lay down soooo badly.
DH woke up as soon as I opened the bedroom door (one of the side effects of my early morning breakfasts that he suffers from!) He helped me lift my legs into bed, roll me over and put the pillows between my knees until I got some relief out of my pelvis. He truly was my guardian angel!
All day yesterday, Zach took great delight in pummeling everything I ate or drank it was whizzing through my system so fast I was tied to the loo and hadnt digested hardly any of it. If he keeps this up, I will find a local vineyard and hire him out as a grape-presser as soon as he is born!
Heartburn last night was sooo bad, I ended up having 4 packets of nik nak crisps to try and soak up some of the excess acid, which gave some temporary relief. Waking up at 1 in the morning with cronic stomach cramps and heartburn followed by an emergency shuffle to the toilet (think emporer penguin shuffling for the 100metre gold medal and you get the idea!) is not my prefered way to ease myself into my 1st breakfast of the day!
Checked his heartbeat, yep still down low and feet pummeling my tummy. So I had one mini pitta bread with the thinnest scraping of marmalade you have EVER seen in a bid to keep the acid down. I retreated to the settee and proceeded to nibble my way through the rest of the dry pittas over the next 4 hours interpersed with emergency shuffles to the loo!
DH must have got all the kids off to school in complete silence this morning, as I didnt wake up on the settee until after he had come back. I started to get myself presentable for the day when I noticed a great big red mark, that is going to be one helluva big spot, my pregnancy glow was short lived!
I spent several hours getting in and out of the bath today in a bid to relieve some of the pressure in my pelvis with limited success.
I have started taking ante-natal vitamins again and having plenty of milkshakes to try and get something to stay in my system. On top of everything else, I dont want my stomach ulcer to come back, so I will have to decide when enough is enough as see the Dr again.
Hope everyone is having a better time of it.xxxx
