| 27-10-2009 - Weekly Measurement at 35 weeks +0 days | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
I thought it would be a nice idea to keep a record of my measurements every fortnight throughout the pregnancy. With everything I have had kicking off lately, checking my measurements is the least of my worries! But I have another growth scan at hospital tomorrow to see if the insulin has been making a difference to Zach's growth
My starting measurements were:
BB's 44"
Waist 36"
Hips 43"
Mid July they were:
BB's 47"
Waist 48"
Hips 43"
3rd August they were:
BB's 46" (-1")
Waist 51" (+3")
Hips 43" ( no change)
3rd September they were:

16th September they were:
BB's 45 1/2" (-1/2" since last fortnight)
Waist 48" (-3" since last fortnight)
Hips 44" (-4" since last fortnight)
Weight gain on starting weight +8lb (+1lb since last fortnight).
28th September they were:
BB's 44" (- 1 1/2" since last fortnight)
Waist 52" (+4" since last fornight or +1" since 4 weeks ago!)
Hips 44" (no change since last fortnight)
Weight gain on starting weight +12lb (+4lb since last fortnight)
7th October they are:

27th October they are:
BB's 46" ( Hooray +2" since three weeks ago)
Waist 55" (no change since three weeks ago)
Hips 46" (no change since three weeks ago)
Weight gain on starting weight +22lb (+6lb over 3 weeks, 2lb a week - eeeek!)
Hooray!!!!My Boobies are coming back! When I had Zach's heart tracing done on Saturday they tested my urine for ketones, and for the first time in months it was clear! Seems like the insulin is now starting to help unlock what I eat rather than ripping away the fat stores I need for breastfeeding.
My feet are starting to get really puffy now, the ankle bones have disappeared completely, and I am getting that thick line instead that old granny's have!. My belly is soooo much heavier, that it sends my thighs to sleep even when I am sitting down. So I try and spend most of the day laying down and adjusting position side to side, but I really should start eating a bit less to compensate for the fact I am not hobbling around on the crutches very much and the insulin is starting to unlock more I what I eat.
It just seems so much harder now I have to clock watch my mealtimes and time my insulin and blood testing. I might graze on healthy fruit during the afternoon without having a "proper" lunch and be sky high a dinner time because of it. Trying to portion less for main dinner has got me pining for my chocolate milkshakes in the middle of the night again. Aaargh! I cant win.
I was up and down to the loo about every 20 minutes last night, which has left me rather exhausted today, but it doesnt seem like I have got rid of any of the excess amniotic fluid. Getting DD1 and trusty tapemeasure, the height of fundus in centimetres has increased for 42 at midwife visit last week to 44. So when I get tomorrow growth measurements we will know how much of that is him and how much is water, then roll on 5th November when they decide when my boy is gonna make his entrance and how!
