| 21-7-2008 - MY NEW ADDICTION | My mood while writing this blog:EXCITED |
These are not instuctions lol! Its just what I do.
Okay...as mothers we all have our own drummer that we beat too. I Love to do and make things myself. I figured since I was home...I would try to conquer baby food. KJ can throw down when he wants too.
I use the packaged rice cereal as my base and add in fresh ingredients. So far we have done Bananas and cereal and Applesauce and cereal. Today, I am going to do peaches and see how he likes them. (just fed him, he gobbled it down) I don't add anything extra, other than a little water to get the right consistency.
When I blend, mash or grind these fruits and veggies up myself, I produce alot more than the jar version. Around these parts ( NYC) Babyfood is very expensive. Especially, if you re not near a major chain store. Anywhere from .63 cents and up! Cereal is whole other animal ! It almost costs as much as the big version! Amen for WIC I am not ashamed!
I am happy to start him out on fresh food and cut out the middle man in the process. It's pretty easy and I'm happy to do it! Going to the farmer's market this Friday. I will let you know what I find to puree next!
