22-12-2011 - Half Way And Counting OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

Half way & counting…

22/12/11

I cannot believe that we are really half way! 20 weeks today! WHOOP WHOOP!

Our ‘SPECIAL DATE’ THEME continues. HALF WAY @ CHRISTMAS!! LOVE IT!

My bump seem to be growing each day and looks like a soccer ball now. The baby is also moving around a lot, and DH has been able to feel it from the outside once.

He sure made me laugh, and he thinks it is gross and weird to have a person/alien moving and growing inside you. He keep asking me if it feels weird. Hahahaha I would not say it feels weird, just a very special thing to experience.

I will take another picture of the bump over the weekend and post it here as well. And as usual, I will update this blog as time goes by.

I also weighed in again today, and I am 66kg. Still 1kg less than I weighed than before I got pregnant! I am so proud of myself and my neat little bump, I really thought I’d be huge by now, but I also know that time is running out and I am growing FAST! (All the Christmas Chocolates around does not help!)

The pregnancy is currently treating me well, and even the sleeping is a bit better on the hips these days. (As long as I turn around often!) So grateful and actually starting to enjoy it more now.

We will have our anatomy scan on the 29th December, one week from today, it is so cruel that they made us wait till after Christmas to find out the baby’s sex at 21 weeks!!!!

We are burning to know if it is team pink or blue- My DH believed from the start that it is a boy. I am just not sure any more, and have no strong inclination. (Each day I think it is different LOL) (Fingers crossed this little one open his/her legs, as I will just cry after waiting so long to find out…)

May I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support during this difficult year I could not have done it without you.

I would also like to wish each and every one of you a Very Merry Christmas & Best Wishes for 2012. I have this feeling that 2012 is just going to be one spectacular year for each of us!!!

Isaiah 9:6 - For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

07 Jan 2011 (22 Weeks) Can't believe the 1st week of Jan is already over. Work has been crazy!! Not enough hours in the day... Nua is kicking like mad these days. (Luckily still low) Sometimes I can even see my tummy move. Love, love, love it. Been sleeping real well (But going to the loo a lot). And went swimming (Aquanatal) again today. Enjoy going and also meet local mommies... Got my maternity cover sorted this week, a previous colleague called Laura. That is just great! Not much planned forr this weekend, need to do ironing and catch up on my cleaning ;)

02/02/12 So, it is 26 weeks today, and time is just flying! Where are the days when we were TTC and every day counted?!

Crazy busy in work, and been to London last week (I love London, but the trip was just exhausting). I don't think Nua liked the hectic, noisy city lifestyle. She stopped kicking for a few days, and also on the days when I've been really stressed in work.

Makes me worry and realise I need to start taking it easy from now on. Luckily as soon I get home and CHILL a bit, she starts kicking real hard to say; ''Hi Mommy, I'm still here!''.

She is a real busy body, just like her mommy & I can actually see my tummy move most of the time. (sometimes makes me cringe, but still very special). Never thought I'd love my bump as much as I do!

I am so grateful that my placenta is at the back & that I am able to feel her as much as I do.

Oh, she also likes kicking the seatbelt every time I drive... hehehe

DH keeps missing the kicks & only feels it every now and again, I am sure she knows when Daddy touches my belly! She is playing games already- LOL

Still going to Aquanatal each week, and have met a good few local preggo mommies there. I have to say, I just love getting into the water. I hope and pray that I will be able to have a water birth, I just love the weightless feeling of my body in the water!

Symptoms these days include heartburn, some days a bad taste in my mouth, nose bleeds/stuffy nose/snoring some nights (so DH says! LOL), dull pelvic pain, (ouch!) skin sometimes a little bad but goes in a day or 2 after applying Sudocrem, which reminds me, ITCHY DRY SPOTS on my upper arms and belly, but Sudocrem sorts that as well, loads of energy, sleeping well & growing each day. Weighing in at 69kg now.

My only 'craving' is an entire lemon squeezed in a glass, then filled with water. Bliss!

Still not eating or drinking anything very sweet like chocolate or fruit juice. I sometimes feels like it but once I've had a bit, I have to eat something savoury afterwards, otherwise I feel sick.

I also added Vit D and Calcium to my prenatal vitamins now-

I got my baby changing bag I wanted last weekend, so I am slowly starting to pack my hospital bag (Early I know, but I am a control freak-) Also got loads of clothes 0-3 months from my neighbour. TOOOO CUTE!

I keep hearing of people who went into labour week 25/27, that worries me, and yes, I would love a small baby, but Please Lord, not that early, I am just not ready yet...

We've been watching 'ONE BORN EVERY MINUTE' every Wednesday, DH wants to run far, far away and are so scared of the birth, but I find the info they share very valuable.

EEEK, only 98 days to go!

We have our 4D scan booked on the 19th Feb, I so can't wait, and hope that this little angel shows us a bit more this time.

Fingers crossed, will keep you posted.

Trafalgar Square in London 23rd January 2012. Count Down to the Olympic Games!

All good, just very tired at times now, time to start slowing down me thinks... But how?? LOL I've never been one for slowing down... I seem to get Braxton Hicks (Braxton Hicks contractions are a tightening of the uterine muscles for one to two minutes and are thought to be an aid to the body in its preparation for birth. Not all expectant mothers feel these contractions. They are not thought to be part of the process of effacement of the cervix.)

So nice to be able to put a name to something I'm experiencing.

07/02/12 I dreamed last night that I had to go for an emergency C-Section, and when I woke up I asked if she was ok, they then turned her face to me and said: IT'S A BOY!! Oh, dear, everything is pink!!! EEEEK! I GUESS TIME WILL TELL...

09/02/12 So, I had my routine check with the midwife in Winsford today. She checked my BP it was 95/60 and my urine, which was fine. She also had a little feel of the belly and said it is nice and strong at the top. She then felt at the bottom and found the 'harder' sided on the right, she said it must be the baby's spine, she recons it is easier to find the HB at the back & shoulder side. She got it but Nua was moving loads, which affected the HB, it was between 145 and 155. She then measured my belly, and it is measuring bang on 27 weeks, which is where I am today! I ordered the matrass for the crib today. I am on a serious mission to getting organised for this baby now! My next appointment is @ 31 weeks on the 8th March. I've been so tired the last week, and energy levels relatively low... Otherwise feeling healthy and good. Still sleeping like a baby.

10/02/12 So, I woke up @ 2am with my bed soaking wet. I seriously thought my waters has broke! I turned the light on to find it's my leaking hot water bottle. Phew, what a shocker that was! I was in serious panic mode. You've got to laugh...!

My day got worse!

I tested the breast pump my friend gave me tonight, AND IT WORKED 1st TIME!

Some water came out of both breasts (I believe it is called colostrum)! CRAPPING MYSELF.

IS IT NOT TOO EARLY FOR THESE THINGS??

So not ready YET!!

2 Shocks in 1 Day!!

NOT DOING THAT AGAIN TILL BABY ARRIVES!!!!

(careful now as nipple stimulation can cause contractions and premature labour, and NO we don’t want that yet!)

I better pack my hospital bag this weekend...

11/02/12 My insomnia's back because I'm in panic mode now (yes I'm a control freak!). Will relax once I've packed my hospital bag this weekend. Off to buy some bits tomorrow... Nua has also been lying funny waking me up. (Yawn)

12/02/12 I got loads of bits sorted this weekend, went shopping, and most my hospital bag is now packed, we also got bottles, changing mat, steriliser, mattress for the crib, formula milk (back up only) and a travel system etc etc, so really feel a lot more in control now.

(I find shopping such hard work at the moment, something I used to love!)

I am well, however, seem to be waking up tired and going to bed tired at the moment,

hopefully my energy will return soon.
