23-2-2009 - 1 week PP, a little bit of everything (+bellypics)

My mood while writing this blog: in love

so far things have been great with my new baby girl! i never new i could have this love for someone... she is amazing... we brought her home on monday the 16th. That night when we put her to sleep in her play-yard and she woke up about 6-7 times ... the next night we tried something different... we put addy to sleep in her swing right next to the bed... and i think she loves it... ever since that the most shes gotten up through out the night was twice! and most of that is for feeding! tonight will be a week since she began to sleep in her swing... so that has worked out for us... shes been great! she sleeps A LOT through out the day... shes maybe up 2-3 hours a day... and oh my goodness does this little girl fart! and its not little ones... there loud! lol... when she is awake, she is sooo alert!

the first few days were pretty rough as far as breastfeeding... in the hospital it seemed as though she was doing fine... but when we got home its like she forgot what to do... so when we went to her 4 day old check up they said that she had lost to much weight... well thank goodness that my milk came in that night because they wanted us to come back in the next day to make sure that she didnt lose anymore weight... well when we went back she had gained 4oz! and ever since shes been feeding like a pro. She usually feeds for about 20-35 min! we have another doctors apt on march 2nd... so im excited to see how much weight she has gained in those 2 weeks.

this weekend my MIL came up... and shes been telling us this whole time that if we have a girl one of her co-workers would give us ALL of her little girls clothing... they only wanted one child and they had a girl that was born 3 days after Addisyn but 2 years earlier... so all of the months will add up with addy! so this weekend we banked on clothing! we got 6 paper boxes of clothing, hats, and shoes! some of the stuff still has it tags on.... plus a bouncy seat and a crap load of toys... the clothes are from newborn-18 months! im sooo excited about that... it helps out so much!

Daddy has been GREAT! ive never seen this side of him before... he is amazing! at night when she does get up, ill feed and he'll do diapers and if shes fussy he'll go in the living room and settle her down... he wont let me because i have to feed her... so he says that he'll do all the other stuff... which is great! he is sooo in love with her as well... his eyes light up every time he looks at her... DH is such a great daddy!

as far as me and heeling... it been a little rough. i had to have an episiotomy which turned out to be a 2 degree cut... so i was pretty sore the first few days... its now to the point were i can sit straight on my bottom and not have it hurt at all. Becuase i had all back labor... i also came home with horrid back pain... i felt bad because the first couple days home i couldnt pick up addy because i couldnt bend over... DH would have to help me walk, AND sit and stand up from chairs and even the toilet!!! it was horrible! but thankfully thing have all gotten better with that as well...

sadly through out this pregnancy i gained 80lbs! i know... how in the world do you do that?!? well i did... but within this first week of doing nothing other than hold and feeding my little one... ive lost 25lbs... i know breastfeeing most likly is helping a little... but i just cant wait until it gets nice here (in wisconsin) so i can give little addy walks everyday and hopefully lose some more of that weight... all with time i guess! but here are some pictures of me 5 days before i gave birth and now 9 days after i gave birth...
