07-12-2009 - wisdom teeth and snow in pain My mood while writing this blog:

SNOW!!! so its Dec 7th and we have maybe gotten about 1/2 in of snow so far this winter! compared to most years when we have several inches... but tomorrow they are calling for 9-13 inches of snow through out the night! im kind of excited but at the same time im already sick of the 20 degree weather!

WISDOM TEETH! i am in so much pain right now! my wisdom teeth have been trying to make their way through for about 4 years now... and so far no pain... all 4 are about half way through... last wed i started to feel a little bit of pain... but on Saturday morning i was in sooo much pain... i HATE taking tylenol, Advil ibuprofen... anything like that... but i had to give in and take some... i bought some ore gel... but the pain is just intensifying! half the time i cant open my mouth far enough to eat... ive been having to eat apple sauce or soup... i tried to eat a banana and i couldnt get my mouth open enough... it hurts to swallow... EVERYTHING! i moved about 5 months ago and i havent found a dentist yet so here i am today calling every dentist in this town to see if there is an opening and everyone didnt have openings until wed and well i just cant wait that long! but the last place i called had an opening at 1130 today so i called my husband and hes coming home for a few hours to watch addy and the kids that i babysit so i can go get this crap taken care of! hopefully i can just get all 4 taken out some time this week... preferably no longer than wed! i will update you all when i get home for the apt... have any of you gotten your wisdom teeth taken out? how much did it hurt and for how long? thank you!

I had my wisdom teeth surgically removed due to them being impacted. The removal and recovery wasnt to bad except for when i got dry sockets in all 4. The pain of dry sockets is even worse than the pain of the wisdom teeth themselves. I dont smoke either or drink from a straw. The can however pack this NASTY stuff in them that works well if you do get dry sockets though.

i got all 4 taken out when i was 20, i wasn't in any pain my den just said they should come out. the last one the y had to stich my gum caz they had to cut it out. i bleed a lot after and u will have lots of pain and wont be able to eat like before for a week or more for some people. you will also be swollen and puffy caz they are working around ur cheeks. so dont freak out it will go down as the days pass. i was okay after 4 days. had soup jello and anything soft. Good luck hun!
